Is there anyone on the planet that doesn’t think that Harper,Pippen,Rodman, and MJ couldn’t shut down curry,Thompson, green, and Durant you have lost your mind. And that applies to any team in NBA HISTORY!!!!!!!
it'd be too much when they had Durant also...Bulls my all time favorite team still, but the rules and the game today is way different...Warriors w/out Durant I think they shut them down...but that Durant team was ridiculously loaded...
@Paul Burnette easy breakdown. Longley is better than Zaza. Rodman is better than Draymond. MJ is better than Klay. Pippen is better than Iggy. KD is better than Kukoc. Steph is better than Harper. Bulls win breakdown 4-2. And if they played 7 games bulls would win 4-2 as usual.
Defense wins championships. Arguably the 3 greatest defenders of all time. And they also have the greatest offensive player ever. GOAT team hands down.
Ron Harper was the key believe it or not when you have a 6’6 point guard that can defend 3 positions to go with Jordan and pippen who could both take away the wings it’s just a different realm of difficulty to get points
No one in nba now.. Can play that kind o defense.. The best pressure defense by mj and pip.. 80s 90s is basketball is very tough.. Now nba is so soft no defense at all
@@TheSands83 Thats wat I think of to Dobermans!!! Just Can't imagine tryin to score when these 3 decide to turn up the ole Temperature on opponents it's Just Lock down D like no other Thats why I'd picked over the warriors!! I mean 88 89 Detroit Pistons was some serious D u Add Bad Boys Dennis Rodman to the Mj Pip duel it's just over!!! The stretching hand to hand to hand blanketing freaking fast Dobermans run u Down 1 thru 5 bring it...Chicago Bad Boys 72-10 lol 😂
Longley was a good rim protector, but played in an era with elite centers so he often looked overmatched. But even then would usually scrap and keep them from completely going off. And use his soft touch to get some buckets of his own. Like he did against Shaq in the 96 playoffs.
every highlight was an inside defensive stop. There is 0 spacing in any of those clips and the spacing is not like what it is in today's NBA with curry shooting the three. All of these are highlights cuz of double-triple coverages, which they can't do in modern era, especially against the warriors@@sneakers-jl1ef
4 HOF players on the court at the same time. 3/4 were top five defensive players in history at their positions. This is why it's hard to imagine any modern team winning more then a game or two in a seven game series. Before anyone comments, I'm also counting Kukoc since he is in the FIBA HOF & he will most likely get in the NBA HOF since he was just short of getting in this year.
yes.the 2016 warriors are not as good as these magnificent players.1990's is a very competitive NBA basketball, year 2000-2014 also is a fun to watch basketball.but when the year 2015 began until today,NBA became sucks.
@@kingdjack6 90's nba is the most toughest era in basketball.and the greatest basketball player also playing in those bulls dynasty.2000-2014 is the most fun to watch ,why its because they are showcasing not only their talent but also they've entertain the audience.2015-onwards the nba is dead.
I absolutely believe the Jordon/pippin bulls will have their hands full with Durant/Curry/Thompson Warriors. That’s a toss up. Warriors want to play more like the Nulls on defense. But these soft fouls prevent some of that
The BEST NBA TEAM EVER ... PERIOD. I miss watching REAL NBA Basketball, and of course, Michael AIR Jordan & The CHICAGO BULLS!! Talk about an INCREDIBLE DEMONSTRATION of DEFENSIVE SKILLS ... ALL THE BULLS WERE DOBERMANS! (NOTHING COMPARES TO OLD SCHOOL REAL NBA Basketball! (NOPE, NO NERF NBA Basketball for me EVER!) Thanks for ALL YOUR GREAT WORK!! 😎👍
And most of these highlights are from their freaking BENCH! It's all about heart. The bulls got the best production out of the most average players! Most people don't realize Jud Buechler was an All-American volleyball player, which translates perfect into: 6:39
This was the 90's: we have a defense and we play basketball. Today is the NBA a eventshow era. Most NBA Player thinks when he make a three pointer they wins the championship.
I figure based off of this Video, this would be a good time to comment on the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Philly 76ers. But mainly The GSW'S! Right now you can see they're having issues with just two games left in their series against Houston and then there's the Western Conference Finals that still have yet to be played, and there's still the question as to whether they'll get there or not. I look at Steph Curry in particular, who's shooting percentage has dipped considerably, he's missing free throws, "Which Never Happens", he's blowing layups with his lax one handed drives to the basket and is very careless with the basketball and makes to many turnovers and unforced errors. Soooooooo, What's Wrong With Him And The Warriors? Simple Answer! It has nothing to do with Team Chemistry, to much one on one play, choking or KD getting hurt. Their problem is all mental and emotional! TRYING TO THREEPEAT IS HARDDDDDDD!!!!!! The mental and emotional strain psychologically is also what people don't realize they're also fighting!!! Fatigue from those perspectives no one talks about because IT RARELY HAPPENS, teams 3peating. This is the perfect Vid to point this out on, and even more importantly, emphasize the point that, what Golden State is going through now; Is The Reason Why They Would Never Beat The 90's Chicago Bulls in a 7 Game Series !!!!! Just look at the Defenses in this video! The Athleticism, The Focus and determination on Defense ALONE! MJ, Scottie, Dennis, Ron and the rest of the Boys would have taken it to another level! Golden State, even with KD wouldn't have been able to deal with a squad so physical, athletic, so psychologically prepared, "With The Best Player In The World" scoring 40 a night! Watch the video closely! I have VHS Tapes, DVDs, of recorded games of the Bulls, late 80's, early 90's and what you see here, they were doing to EVERYONE in the league back then! It was called, Imposing Their Will! Basically dominating teams into submission on the defensive end of the floor, something you never see consistently now in today's game. The Lakers, in Kobe and Shaq's prime years, YES! The Houston Rockets when Hakeem was prime before Barkley got there, maybe, but Golden State would not have been able to deal with them... It would have been like Pros playing against College! Once again, watch the Vid! The Bulls came at you like this for four quarters, and if you were a team of any type Notoriety, you were going to get shut down, humbled, hosed! I'm not saying GSW would lose 4 straight, but I am saying there's no way they'd win a series against those Chicago Bull back then........... Thanks Wistiti93420 for another excellent video! Keep them coming...
@Ulysses432 . Man, did I ever enjoy your text! Having a conversation with someone about the mental aspect of the game of basketball is priceless! Sharing thoughts related to, "The Zen Master Himself, Mr. Jackson and all his manipulations to get the most out of his players really bring back alot of memories." Sadly, and I don't totally blame him for this, but with this being a new era of basketball and this generation of players coming into the league with practically no college experience, weak minded, not at all fundamentally sound in so many aspects of their games, it's no wonder he called it quits! I just really think he got to a point and said, if you can't hold these players accountable and Adam Silver wants to set them all up for financial success before they've proven anything, it's time for me to make my exit. Some of his philosophies I didn't agree with either, but managing egos was definitely one of his strong suits and was just what MJ and The Bulls needed to win 6 Chips... I'm sure we'll all get the intricacies of detail about their storied Chip seasons when that 6 episode documentary on The Bulls 90's run airs in 2020! Really appreciated your comments! Not to often you come across someone who appreciated the NBA from back in the day, and who converses about the mental, psychological, and emotional, highs and lows that players go through and how they have to be challenged in ways to keep them hungry and motivated to continue being successful. Pat Riley, Phil, Larry Brown, Hubie Brown, Chuck Daly, K C Jones were tried and tested geniuses, but were also disciplinarians and held their Stars accountable and to a higher standard when to me, the best brand of basketball was played, BARR NONE!!!
Exactly. Curry and Kd would not have been able to handle the physical and relentless defense from Chicago. And once the bulls started trapping them along the sidelines, there is nothing they can do. I'm sure you've already watched this game, but rewatch game 2 of the 1996 ECF Bulls vs Magic. The Magic were up by double digits at halftime, and the bulls went on to play the most hellacious and intense defense I have ever seen in any playoff game. I will never forget watching that game, and as a suns fan, I hated the bulls and I rooted for the magic. But after watching that game I had nothing but respect for the bulls.
They were all over everyone!!!now this defense!!!!the freaking memories!!!wow!!!dam I miss these days!!!!was fun to watch the bulls now I don’t even watch nba!!!! Boring👎🏼
Chicago trio dt year...mj pip n rodman are in nba all defensive first team...ask tony kukoc said in his hof speech...theyre practice games is more tough than a regular game...because of mj pip n rodman....amazing
This is my answer when people wonder if the GSW from 2016-17 could beat the late 90's Bulls. No way. These Bulls were a defensive juggernaut. Not to mention that with the floor spacing used today, Rodman is averaging 25-30 rebounds a game. That's a lot fewer 2nd chances for all those 3's
These are HIGHLIGHTS. If they played this EXACT kind of defense where they are selling out for the paint, helping off of a man to contest a layup, they’d be down 20 by half time. Totally different brands of basketball.
90's rules or today's rules...Dubs would lose too this team...90's rules sweep or 4-1 today's rules 4-2...Jordan don't know what a Finals game 7 looks like 😂😂😂😂
@Arden YosafatUr favorite player favorite player is Jordan...his career is THEE ULTIMATE HIGHLIGHT!!!! I’m sure u wasn’t either born or old enuff too see him play but I bet yo ass got a pair of Jordans...#TheOneAboveAll
youngins don't know kd and steph are getting outphysicaled for 94 feet and klay ain't getting open vs these guys. kd and steph have so many wide open shots per game bc nobody plays D anymore. 96 bulls would sweep em.
@@danielsavy9742 warrior offense is mainly outside, but the bulls are a defensive minded team first, but when they are (GSW) defended physically (like what happened to 3-1), they cannot do shit, the three of the bulls (pippen, rodman and MJ) are arguably the best lock down defenders in the NBA, they will guard you physically and emotionally ahahhahahha.. refer to 6:20 in the video
@@danielsavy9742 They are long body hybrid defenders that guard the perimeter well and Curry/Klay would need Bird's height or they never make all those clutch shots... A few perhaps, but that's all. And GS has no chance defending the dobermans in this era!! So take away what you want about 'defense', point being is that not only would they still be a better defensive team than GS this era, but they destroy GS offensively, with players fouling out and having absolutely no chance against the drives of Jordan/Pippen which by the way opens the door to an almost aleays wide open Kerr for the 3 - Oh, and who has the highest 3 PT% ever? That's right! And he did in a defensive era, so he would destroy his own record in today's game.
@@Julius_Paul that last sentence on Kerr is dumb though. Most of his shots from outside were very open, whereas great shooters today shoot tougher shots off the dribble, off screens, and in general more contested shots. Trust me, if Steph and Klay were to shoot the shots Kerr did, they would have the same %... And I doubt Kerr would be able to be a real scoring threat as a shooter today, considering his size
When you play against Mike everyday for practice, you're defense is gonna improve whether ya like it or not... Not taking anything away from Scottie, but I think that has a lot to do with why he was one of the best defenders the game has seen.
Your theory holds water only if everyone in the NBA plays like MJ. What makes Pippen a GREAT defender is his mental and physical ability to adapt and adjust to the skills and tendencies of his opponents. And because no two players play alike, practicing with any one person is not going to prepare them for everyone. Meaning, for example, if Scottie Pippen guarded John Stockton like he would guard MJ, Utah would have probably won at least one of those titles during 97 or 98 seasons.
@@josephburley9388 so right. Im not guarding westbrook the same way i guard Curry just no way. When you are a 6'9 athletic superstar thats dedicated to defense and rim running, you are basically able to guard all 5 positions. It just helps your defensive work ethic knowing your teammate is dropping 30-50 every night and also bringing great defense. It only becomes more unstoppable with Rodman. I could only imagine if they had a Giannis type Center at the time they would be utterly unstoppable
Rodman guarded shaq in his prime 1 on 1. Jordan is Jordan and pippen is considered one of the greatest defenders ever to play the game. That team was not only legendary but they truly personified jordan win at all cost. They literally went out and played every game as if it was their last
@@punkassrubio1744 And you really think klay and Steph would get their shots off with harp MJ and pip on the perimeter ? 🤣🤣 your crazy if you think klay and Steph would be dropping 3s constantly
@punkassrubio,just a reminder to you that Jordan, Rodman and Pippen were 1st team all defense and I can guarantee you that GS would have a hell of time even getting an open look beyond the 3pt line...Let's not forget that Harper was a lockdown defender as well
And people say the warriors would take this team. I dont care if they played by today's rules. They had 4 guys that could play great parameter defense.
Sorry I just can’t see the Warriors beating this 1996 Bulls team. You can talk all you like about Durant, Thompson and Curry etc beyond the 3 point line but Bull’s had great perimeter defenders in Rodman, Pippen, Jordan and Harper. Rodman, Pippen and Jordan were regular All NBA Defensive 1st team members. All were quick and athletic. Pippen was brilliant at getting into the passing lane. Then on offensive side the Bulls have their own 3 point weapons in Kukoć and Kerr. Kukoć height and ability to stretch the floor will cause problems. Jordan would have a field day. Every times he drives to basket he will either pull up for a jumper/ fade away or draw a foul. Pippen will get many points especially in transition on fast break after a turn over. I don’t see Warriors get as many stops as the Bulls. The Bulls would used their suffocating defence to force turnovers and points on the fast break. Pippen and Jordan in the open court. Has there been a better duo in the open court? But if the Bulls want to match Warriors shooting they could have Kukoć and Kerr on the floor. With the way the 3 ball is played today Jordan would spend hours in gym shooting 3s.
I been watching nothing but bulls basketball for thr last month, then the last dance anf now only 95 96 bulls games, best team of all times!!!all of them had highlights on that year all of them not just jordan, great team!!
The whole team doing help defense to carry on the slack of Kukoc. But when it comes to crunch time dead ball, its very hard to inbound against the quick and tall Kukoc guarding the line. And he is also very hard to defend against if he's doing the inbound pass with his height and passing skills. And his can sink that last shot given the opportunity.
This video focuses more on shot blocks, if it were to include defensive pressures, ball-hawking defense, forcing turnovers, this would be a way longer video
6:20 this is the kind of defensive plays I love. Not just the flashy blocks and steals. Forcing a turnover or a though. Would love to watch more compilations like that!
And a lot of newbie ball fans say that these Bulls will lose handily against the 2017 GS Warriors. They have only seen the offensive highlights. They have seen only a glimpse of the defensive intensity, but the chemisty and the basketball IQ of this team is off the charts. They played against different types of offenses in this 2nd 3-peat, fron dominant big men and post play surrounded by shooters in the Shaq Penny Magic, Hakeem's Rockets, Robinson's Spurs. Pick n roll plays with shooters in the Malone Stockton Jazz, spacing and multiple screen style of the Pacers, ground and pount style of the Knics, the iso post play style of the Heat, to the run and gun play of the Kemp Payton Sonics. Yet, the Bulls defense were able to adopt , adjust, and control the game, whatever style of offense they face.
i wish people posted evin gualberto style defense videos. just clips of whole possessions of the team locking down. you could make a compilation of blocks for every team and player tbh
They are long body hybrid defenders that guard the perimeter well and Curry/Klay would need Bird's height or they never make all those clutch shots... A few perhaps, but that's all. And GS has no chance defending the dobermans in this era!! So take away what you want about Bulls 'defense' in today's era, point being is that not only would they still be a better defensive team than GS this era, but they destroy GS offensively, with players fouling out and having absolutely no chance against the drives of Jordan/Pippen, which also opens the door to an almost always wide open Kerr for the 3... Oh, and who has the highest 3 PT% ever? That's right! And he did it in a defensive era, so he would destroy his own record in today's game.
I HATE bringing up the BULLS because they think I’m taking shots at LEBRON; but I’m STRICTLY talking about quick defense. *With the SPEED the Clippers have I’m putting this potential on them because this is TRULY THE DEFENSE PRESENCE they can bring if they play with this intensity.
Best defensive team in NBA history. Every single player was solid a dog on defense, even the 2 best players on the team all the way down the lineup. The starting 5 could be NBA all defensive team 1 or 2. Harper, Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Longley.
This why I say this the greatest team ever and why mj the goat. Everybody can be great on offense a BUT not a lot of can be great on defense. This Team was great offensively and defensively.
6:19 Just look at that defense on the 3 point line and how they stopped and pressured that team to miss the shot. Can't believe people still think that the Warriors would beat the Bulls easily with their 3 pointers (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8Tfv-3QWGi0.html). With that defense you would not have players like Cousins, Green or Iguodala shooting and scoring wide open 3s like in the finals vs the Raptors.
Donerman Defense 101.. that 96-97 team was Insane on Defense.. covering full court, half court traps, Randy Brown! They knew at one point during every game they were gonna shut u down for a 5-7 minute stretch.. reminds me of 04 Detroit with Lindsey Hunter!
I dnt watch the NBA these day's become it sucks how some big dude shooting 3 pointers Disgraceful so I go on RU-vid and watch the games frm the 80's and 90's and early 2000, I'm old school and won't waste my time,
