Megatron isnt even truly shown in this movie yet the Decepticons presence is so strong that this movie didnt need Megatron to make them look like true villains
@@ivanchoo2006 Yes he is, Bumbelbee and Rise of the beasts are follow-ups of Transformer 2007. The timeline of both these movies were in 1987-1994, Archibald Witwicky found Megatron frozen on earth, this was set in the eighteen hundreds. Megatron was also frozen for 2000 years after landing on earth.
In all honesty this has to be the best scene in the entire film, seeing all the transformers back in their full original designs really hit the geeky spot for me and for that us transformers fans shall bow to Travis knight
Egg Pin agreed! even tho i was born in the late 2000s i remember staying up at extreme hours at night, just to watch the original transformers. i really love their original design so much! im rlly glad its back!
What makes it really good is they left all the American pride, fan service and government back and for once actually followed the original series and games
As a huge fan of the G1 series, whenever I went to see this movie at the theatre I was in utter awe, and then when Soundwave said “Decepticons Attack!” the tears just started flowin’ man.
For real! Like how much of a menace is Soundwave in the Bumblebee universe when a Prime is in fear just at the sight of him? What has Soundwave done in this universe? Lol
@@skullfacegaro2716 Soundwave is usually Megatron's second in command, more or less serving as an expert spy, and can go toe to toe with a lot of foes. Fighting him as well as Starscream and Shockwave could've ended badly. Though I wonder where Megatron himself was at during all of this?!
@@largeformatmaster2994 I am siding no one but truth isn't always true. You are entitled to your opinion but as well many others. But no reason to cause and argument. If you don't like it why spend 2 minutes and 23 seconds on something you hate? You got better things to do why bother this one?
@@largeformatmaster2994 well...you are not wrong. For me I like some of them but...I do want a better transformer film for all fans and regular audience to enjoy all together instead of all of us fighting each other. Like you said, we need more focus on the Transformer characters then human characters. Which I believe is what all Transformer fans want.
Came here after the new "Beast Wars" Transformers trailer. This clip is still the best thing to come out of ALL of the Transformers films. Bless you Travis Knight.
@@MYzticOP There is nothing wrong with human characters. It's just that they're never properly integrated into plot without taking over the movies. In the cartoons they're fine and even loved. Like the Prime kids, or the original Witwickies, Alexa from Armada is completely endearing especially her interactions with Starscream. And the reason why humans suck so much in the live action movies compared to the cartoons is because it's far cheaper to fill the screen time with actual human beings instead of generating the Transformers for an entire movie. I think it'd be fine if humans had a bigger role in the franchise, just don't let them overshadow the Transformers.
I have higj hopes for rise of the beasts. The trailer felt like transformers were the center of the movie and humans are just there, they will be needed because the movie takes place on earth but i jave high hopes. With this cheaper designs the cost to animate and cgi for the bots is cheaper and considering how mucj money they are putting into the movie, i believe we will have the most transformers screentime
One interesting thing about this scene is the subtle detail where Bee comes from - he's driving behind enemy lines. Yes, you could write it off as a cool entrance, but I believe this is because they are hinting to his role as a scout.
I really like Optimus' "Oh Scrap!" moment when Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream show up. He knows that 3 of Megatron's heaviest hitters just showed up and that what he has left of the Autobots have no chance of fighting them off.
@@DestroyerThedefender Yes, I have, but even that version of Starscream was 2nd in command of the Decepticons. And one doesn't get that high of a rank(or for so long, for that matter) just by being a clever talker
@@DestroyerThedefender He is indeed a heavy hitter for some reason he is portrayed as a coward which he is which is why he’s my favourite character but above all let’s not forget he’s 2nd in command for a reason and is the best seeker in the decepticon army he’s literally one of the strongest in it
“Destroy the launch pad! Let none escape!” Autobots: *all escape* You had one job, Starscream… Edit: oh wow this exploded. Thanks everyone! To answer a couple of things: yes, Shockwave is the one to give the order but it’s Starscream and the Seekers who carry it out. In this situation, I do as Megatron does and blame Starscream. As for the point about the partial completion of the order, that the launchpad was destroyed but the Autobots still escaped: come on guys. You all know fine well that among the Decepticons, especially where Starscream is concerned, a partial success is still a failure xD
@@alexisoppenheim9609 this short scene alone sucked up a billion dollars to make. A whole movie based on Cybertron especially with this detail and cgi would take more than 4 years to complete without any hiccups and production time
@@thrusttheconehead5369 I like to believe that this is how they look on cybertron but due to scanning earth vehicles there parts changed in shape to look like the cars, plains, helicopters, etc. that they scanned.
@@lelandholmquist2467 I mean, that's literally what happened in the original cartoon, but they still held their colorful designs. Bay made them all too gray and steely to tell who was who on a first glance.
Nah the line up too crazy if cliffjumper gers murked. SOUNDWAVE SHOCKWAVE AND STARSCREAM... either cyber trim is lost or Optimus is getting his hands dirty😅😅
Did you noticed Knock-Out behind Shockwave? I thought she was Shatter but his face is totally different, and he's the only Decepticon with wheels(on Cybertron) so...yeah I think is Knock Out.
Absolutely my childhood brought to life. Sooooo much better than what Michael bay has produced. Even though some of it was awesome. Travis knight has just captured it PERFECTLY here. So epic
I agree with the cybertron movie part but complete g1 is a horrific idea. Constant g1 will kill the franchise. They just need to make the designs recognizable to g1, not complete g1. I bet the people that want constant g1 are going to be the same people that are going to say that transformers is getting repetitive.
Tristan 2118 I bet the most of the budget Michael Bay had for his TF-Movies went into the Explosions etc. and not in the CGI. So this CGI is most likely as expensive.
This is what I wanted from a Transformers movie all along. The Autobots and Decepticons who actually look like themselves, no unnecessary explosions and no hot girls. It’s perfect.
@@shizutokujowara8787 that's my biggest complaint since I love wheeljack as a character. But storywise and everything else ROTB was miles ahead of Bayverse aside from CGI/sound design.
@@gokulkrishm51 Oh man. My mom loves Transformers, ever since she was a girl she would watch it faithfully with my uncles when they were kids. For her it was cool and she was very interested in advanced technology.
@@skirmishk9421 I actually thought they got the legendary Frank Welker for Soundwave as well. Props to John Bailey, and I hope to see him again for more Transformers projects, be it shows or movies.
@@starsaber9378 that’s bias, if decepticons in bays films get screen time as long as the decepticons did in this, you all say it’s wasted characters, but the decepticons in bumblebee get less than bays decepticons, yet you don’t see it as wasted? But for bays when they get more time than the decepticons shown on here, you call his wasted. Confusing.
@@starsaber9378 they weren’t wasted in dotm. The decepticons in dotm had more screen time than the ones shown in bumblebee. So how was dotms decepticons wasted? By your logic of “wasted” you should be calling the decepticons shown here to be wasted. But you call bays decepticons wasted when they had more screen time. Bias
I'm 17 as well, and i actually missed the opening scene 😅. I loved g1, so seeing cybertron midway through the movie, with soundwave and ravage was awesome! Later i found out this masterpiece of a scene existed, and i swear I come back to it like every month, it's just Amazing
I'm a little sad that shockwave and sound wave got lines in their original voices but starscream didn't. But I don't mind, just seeing Megatron's 3 generals (I know that's not their actual ranks but they are the three closest to Megatron) in this design was amazing, I hope they all get brought back in the future
Fun Fact: both Soundwave and Shockwave weren’t voiced by Frank Welker or Corey Burton respectively, they were actually voiced by the same actor named Jon Bailey who you may also know as, get this, the Honest Trailer Voice Guy! I am not joking, this is pretty cool!
I loved Soundwave and Shockwaves voices in the movie! But sadly they won’t be able to get Starscreams back because his voice actor sadly passed away many years ago… But I would be down to have Steve Blum reprise his role as Starscream since I thought he did an amazing job as Starscream in Transformers Prime!
Starscream, Wheeljack, Cobra Commander were voiced by the late Chris Latta! It's sad that he passed away too soon back in '94, no other voice actor can match Chris Latta's devious villain voice!
I like how simple their designs are. They look like there for kids, but they still fit this movie, and plus, the Decepticons are now colorful than just being shades of grey and black edit: How did I just start WW2?
@@LegendzPlushStudios its good concept but a hard thing to pull off, the decepticons must be distinct enought to be their own character and not literal metal mannequins
@@pole8740 their not literal metal mannequins. They look nothing like that, they have armor, sometimes color, and it’s normal. They look intimidating, you can still clearly tell who’s who.
@@pole8740 nah, not boring, and it clearly isn’t edgy. It’s realistic, and doesn’t matter because it’s showing the decepticons are plain, example all the autobots have color like green yellow red and blue etc. and shockwave had purple, and it’s still a good concept, and it isn’t boring. so your point?
THIS is how you design live-action transformers; by making them look like robots that turn into vehicles. Not by making the good guys look as humanoid as possible and the bad guys look like metal monsters.
I can confidently say that the transformer design in the first 3 bay verse movies was amazing. It might not be as good as this movies design, which is entirely subjective, but it still looks good
@@guts5101 In a way I agree, the main problem is how complex the cybertronian designs are. Had Micheal Bay been smart enough to make the designs simpler, it would've much better then the eye-cancer it is right now.
@@one-shotrailgun8713 yeah... a prime example of this is optimus. In the first 3 movies, his design is way more complex than it should have been, but it had a clear vision, and looked like a robot somewhat. You can see this in his legs, where it gets bigger the lower his leg goes, which can be said for basically all of the auto bots and decepticons, meanwhile in age of extinction, they just look like knights. Don’t get me wrong, the designs are still cool, but the original designs were way better
@@guts5101 annnndd, because of the complex designs of the bay-verse transformers, when the transformers get punched in a fight scene it looks like spaghetti. Seriously, a single punch would make 40 pieces fall off. Battle carnage is cool and all, but seriously, it just makes them look fragile.
No, no. Rahkshi are "metal monsters". A lot of the evil Bay-formers could be called "grey humanoid scrap heaps", and it would still be right. I'd say Blackout, and maybe Barricade are the only ones who benefited from their redesigns, and it's only cause they really didn't have anything going for them beforehand.
That show brings back so many memories. I preferred his character in prime tbh, the reckless explosives guy rather than what they made him in the bayverse
Travis Knight gave us what we always wanted from Bay and it looked perfect in every aspect. The voices, the camera movement, the character designs and colors.. absolute perfection. I don't know what Steve Caple Jr. was thinking when changing their designs so much for ROTB, but I'll stay as optimistic as I can.
The bumblebee movie was what transformers should have been. The style of the transformers were amazing and I hope they continue that into the next ones rather than trying to what Micheal bay did.
The depictions of the transformers were great, and my god I actually liked the human protagonists. Like, the family had issues but none of them were *obnoxious*, and I actually felt invested in seeing them work things out.
@@Pentarax In my opinion, the human story was incredibly boring. I could not sit there for most of the movie, and was just hoping that I would get to see the robots, instead of the humans. I'm hoping they make another movie, but without humans.
I think the designs of Bays transformers were 99% of time absolutely amazing it’s just that he didn’t give the majority of them any real personality or character
I love how the Movie Bumblebee became so Iconic that they can never even make it look like the G1 version with it's horns and helmet, they just have to meld the two Designs into one.
@@rustylarry7465 well dark of the moon was probably one of the best out of the 5 bay movies and bumblebee is better than all of em, the only reason bayformers did well was because of the action, story wise its a whole mess

Yep...unfortunately no Megatron in his full gray coloring and turning into a gun for Starscream to use lol. He had already crashed on Earth (apparently Optimus was totally oblivious to this while sending Bumblebee there)
Everything about this scene is just incredible ! The original colors for StarScream, Soundwave, Shockwave, Thrust and Skywarp , Optimus's appearance, the way that Soundwave orders the decepticons to attack! ... Oh man .. Maybe one day we can get an entire movie like this.
dude, right??? You know 100% that IS Starscream and definitely no other seeker. How random would it would've been if they threw Skywarp in with Shockwave and Soundwave. I always remember the difference was their coloring, purple for skywarp and the very iconic red/grey/blue. THAT is the Starscream we wanted in the f'n Michael Bay movies. It's cool he turned in a F-22 Raptor, but his robot form was horrible and looked like everybody other Decepticon...particularly Megatron.
i guess bay made them look like grey metal to probably make them seem more scarier but they could've used at least a little colour in them especially with starscream, megatron, soundwave and shockwave and some others too
@@idontexist-- I would actually disagree. When they have colour, you can tell who it is and wether or not they are a threat, while with bayformers, they all just look like a regular deception soldier that will easily be finished
0:52 The part that gets me the most? Optimus Prime actually sounds _Terrified_ of The Decepticon Command Triad before him. This movie did something that most transformer movies hadn't... And that was Give Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave the Terror Factor their Ranks deserved. Starscream wasn't simply "Air Commander of the Decepticons", he was the Air Commander of _The Decepticon Armada,_ meaning he controls the ariel branch of the entire decepticon armada. Soundwave? Chief of Communications, Head Spy and chief Infiltraitor of the Decepticons... And Finally, Shockwave, Chief Scientist, Researcher, Interrogator, Torturer and Engineer of the entire Decepticon Armada. This short scene not only gave the Three the Terror they deserve, they also don't have Megatron anywhere nearby... Meaning these three have hunted down the Autobots on Cybertron, _Without_ hide nor helm of Megatron in Sight! Most other movies based in the Transformers Universe, hek, even _G1,_ hardly ever had the Decepticons be Competent without _A_ Megatron in sight. In less than a Minute, we have Not Seen Megatron appear at all, and yet, Prime is calling a Retreat just from seeing the Decepticon Command Triad making an appearance on the battlefield... Meaning in Transformers Bumblebee, the Decepticons were something to be _Feared._
wow this is so well put together! I absolutely love how badass they made these 3 seem and it did them justice. Plus, it makes megatron EVEN more of a badass because he's one level above all 3 of these guys.
@@wongyikai2126 i don't know about the one in this continuity, but the Autobots always had good troops to fight the Decepticons, Aerialbots, Dinobots, Protectobots, Combiners, but everything the Autobots had, the Decepticons had something to rival and vice versa

I really liked how they used G1 design and color scheme for both autobots and decepticons. Just by seeing it brings back a lot of memories of my childhood where I grew up with transformers, star wars, marvel series, and dc series alike. I really appreciate the movie creators for creating this movie.
@PIPOCA I wish we could get Animated figures from the masterpiece line, given that Animated is considered to be one of the best Transformers cartoons of all time.
When I saw this in theaters I was so shocked on how they made the G1 designs work. Some people need to understand why people love Bumblebee designs, they are clean, have the right amount of detail in certain areas, and every design isn’t grey or black. We can see the action and identify the character more. Also they aren’t needlessly complex
Bro 🙄 that’s what I was trying to say like you can actually see what’s going on in this movie & they probably going have the same designs in the sequel. like I just hate when people say Oh A g1 film don’t work well when it comes to good story telling & writing & character development it does. in that case g1 has alot great story telling in my opinion.
The fact that I could identify Brawn, Ratchet, Arcee, the Seekers, simply because of their shapes and color-scheme IMMEDIATELY proves your point. Each one was so distinctively different that you could actually tell who the heck each one was!
Disagree on the complex one, they should be complex because they are aliens and also metal, they look too cartoonish, if they made they're designs more complex with these colors it would have been better
@@user-fv9er3by5n But that works against them sometimes, when certain action scenes are shot with them its unreadable. A live action transformer design should be somewhat complex, but not in a needless way.
@@devandevan1403 well they didn't have as much money as M.bay did but hopefully next movie has longer CGI scenes! Also this CGI is way better than Transformers WFC,FOC!! It's good and they probably meant that this scene is almost like a scene in WFC/FOC.
After watching Transformers One, I can’t wait for them to explore more ideas. I can definitely see this scene being at the end of the franchise when cybertron is falling they can either replicate or build upon this
As outstanding as that would be, a film 100% CGI would cost a huge fortune. Luckily Netflix is making a series about the war for Cybertron so hey there’s a substitute
Cgi costs too much to make at that level rn however it gets cheaper all the time so eventually it will be possible to make higher quality cgi at a more affordable price
the humans took so much air times away from the transformers in the bay movies. The 80s TF had humans, but they were more of a side note. This is TF universe pure and simple here, beautiful (and TF 80s). It is about robots society.
