Got bump steer on your JL Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator? Problem solved with this new part from Synergy Manufacturing.
Bump Steer is when your wheels steer themselves without input from the steering wheel. The undesirable steering is caused by bumps in the track interacting with improper length or angle of your suspension and steering linkages.

The second jeep was perfect. The drag link and track back were almost perfectly parallel 😳

Roll center after lift. It helps to flip the drag link and raise the track bar after 3”

BEWARE! If you flip the drag link to the top side of the knuckle you MUST have a minimum of ~3" bump stop extension in order to prevent the drag link from hitting the frame. This means you will reduce your bump travel (assuming you did not already have 3" bump stop extensions).
@ebaluyot7793
@ebaluyot7793 2 года назад
Do you have the part number for the 3” bump stop extension? Can you please mention it. I need to get one. Thanks
@GevoA1
@GevoA1 2 года назад
@@ebaluyot7793 There isn't one particular part number. Pretty much any 3" bump stop extension will work. You can also make your own. You'll need 3" diameter pucks. Many will use hockey pucks and drill a hole through them. I've made several out of 3" aluminum bars, cut to length. Or, simply order a design you like. Keep in mind, down so will also reduce you bump travel, assuming your shock length is designed for less than ~3+ inch lift height. So, doing the drag link flip is not recommended for anything less than ~4" inches of lift as a result since you'll reduce suspension performance at the expense of improved steering. (side note, after >3 inches of lift, I'd recommend either a long arm suspension system or at least correction drop arms).

4.5” evo springs and 37s, 4” of bump stop is not enough for me I still hit the frame. Thinking about flipping it back.

@@charlestraywick Just saw your comment, what drag link were you using? Was the track bar also hitting?
@JasonParham83
@JasonParham83 Год назад
@@charlestraywickdid you have the plush or HD springs? I just did the drag link flip and I'd like to add in the evo 4.5" plush ride springs. I'm currently running ready lift 4" springs. (Haven't had an issue with hitting the frame yet).

Steer Smarts has had a much beefer version since 2018... and theirs allows you to move your stabilizer up out of the rocks.

This also relocates the sway bar links. I have a no limits RK lift kit. This would have raised my end links to high. I found it not to be compatible with this setup. I ordered a Steersmarts kit that does the same thing but retains the factory location of the swaybar link.

I was running the over the knuckle kit from SteerSmarts and discovered that I lost several inches of flex on the passenger's side with the drag link coming in contact with the frame. So I purchased the "under the knuckle" kit and no issues. I'm not saying that I don't have bump steer, but it's very minimal.

That's the exact reason my frame has a big old notch and brace on it. Gotta fit that steering in there somehow

In this video you mentioned that on the Gladiator you use to have with the 6.5 inch lift you did hydro assist. Did you also do the drag link flip kit and track bar relocation? Or did the hydro assist alleviate the bump steer?

I know this is 3 months old, but I have a quick question for you on this. I am getting bump steer on my 2 door 2020 JLR with Mopar's 2" lift. I already put in Synergys adjustable Track bar and Sector shaft and track bar brace to help with steering. What I was wondering is do I also need this kit, and if I put this kit in do I also need to adjust the drag link (and the modifications needed for that as well)? I am also looking at synergy's adjustable control arms (front and rear) to fix my camber which is a bit off from the Mopar lift. And yeah, I probably just need to swap to a totally better lift kit, though the fox shocks seem to be doing well. Anyway, any input on my issue would be welcome.

Great channel, watch all the time. Hoping for some guidance. Installed 1.5 inch teraflex level kit, .75 daystar for the rear with mopar LCAs. I am getting popping/clunk noise in the front when applying the brakes at low speed .. grabbed my front track bar and I am able to move it up and down 1/2 - 1 inch ... is this normal? Possible cause for the clunk ?
