For years NY played the gatekeepers for Hip-hop and didn't want nothing to do with the south. But once we had motion they wanted to ride our wave. Now you complain about how hard it is for a deal when you could walk down the street to drop a demo, when we had to have a movement behind us just to get a meeting. 😂😂😂 Thank god for J.Prince, Master P, and Baby for hustling and putting on for the South

@@krownheightsgang7053that was buns point, until like 03/04 there were like 5 southern artist everyone knew. Ny rappers was hip hop for 25/30 years, then the sound changed and NY niggas couldn’t be original anymore. It was a reset, NY coming up now if these new artist really release good music, idk if that’s happening. Also having 200 rappers on every block and that culture of non quality music hurts chances too. 30,000 niggas rap like currensy or fab but can’t make a fucking song that sounds as good or better ain’t the labels fault.

I disagree. Was actually a great example because look at what 50 had to go through, even before beef w/ Murda Inc (therefore w/ Preme by extension) to really get put on. Does 'In The Club' happen if the blackball and assassination attempt never happened? HIGHLY unlikely...

Gotta agree about the Jeezy mention. Although Jay was the first to say im not a rapper, im a hustla, when Jeezy came in saying the same thing, dope boys/hustlas turned rappers started coming out of the damn woodwork. Rap went from a craft to a just a hustle. Now every drug dealer, pimp, stripper, gang member etc, etc, wants to rap although they have zero skills. Its just a HUSTLE to them.

*Most people only interact with the IRS when they file their individual income tax return. Some people haven't had to file returns in the past but now need to because they've become eligible for tax credits, and filing a return is the only way to get those credits. When it comes to your taxes and refunds, it's important to be well-informed and prepared.*

I have had issues myself while filing my tax refunds buh couldn’t, my spouse happened to know this tax preparer that helped his colleague, so we decided to reach out to her. I will be also glad to refer anyone having issues to Mrs Dorothy Gibson She can help you save money by finding all the deductions and credits you’re eligible for.

@BackToTheBoomBap
@BackToTheBoomBap 6 месяцев назад
I have a lot to say. First of all, like others have said, Math shouldn't have been getting a trim while this interview was going on. Secondly, why are they discussing major labels' artist selection process when artists don't even have to go that route nowadays? When artists decide to sign with majors nowadays, it's for more exposure. And even with that I don't think it's a smart move unless they're big enough to negotiate a deal they would never offer the average artist. And chances are very slim that a new artist would have the leverage to negotiate a fair deal on a major. Then, you got Mecca arguing with the OG like he would know more about how it works than Bun would. And it's just too many mfers talking in that room! The guest shouldn't have to yell over everybody else to be heard. And another thing. It is annoying to have to skip Math's songs in the beginning. And once the sound effect goes off where they cut the segment, I'm out. Math gets good guests, but the only reason he gets a lot of forgiveness for what he does wrong on the podcast is because he was known already from the battle rap scene. I still remember dude who's not there anymore was sleeping during a taping. Are you kidding me?

From NY and I'd Break a H-Town Rapper over a New York Rapper any Day... That's my Personal Opinion however sticking to his Question. Hip-hop is Regional also NY doesn't stick Together Like the South definitely has Motion always has since the Luke Records, Tony Draper Suave House Days, NY kinda like Philly and NJ it's kinda hard for Rappers to Work together or even Feel the New Movement I Remember people back in 2016 wasn't Feeling Westside Gunn x Benny the Butcher x Conway the Machine x Griselda x Fashion Rebels x Roc Marciano x Durag Dynasty x Knowledge the Pirate x Hus tha Kingpin x Rozewood x ALC x AA Rashid x United Front x OBH x Young Chris x Vodka x Al Bee Al x Fred da Godson x Axel Aleon x Dark Lo x VDon x Nicholas Craven x Tha God Fahim x Mach-Hommy People in NYC wasn't feeling the Birth of These artist Movement.

Bun is right. There’s a lot of artist but there’s only a few that will only generate real wealth from it. Today’s rap is like having a middle class 9 to 5 job. You can be hot locally and make a few 100,000 a year or month if you are really hot. And just tour locally. There’s only a few that will generate millions and have longevity. The rest will eventually die out

After the 2000's we in NYC lost all hometown advantages because people from the 90's kept in the industry and the south had all the legends and top new artist. Nowadays locals in NYC are sounding like southerners so they get passed on by the big labels. NYC gotta support or locals & underground artist. LA is fine at supporting the local acts & Chicago guys blow up with outsiders support inspite of gang bs. NY/east coast artist want that million dollar deal off the rip if they have any fanbase or talent so we get deals once desperate or compromised in or greed/expansiveness.

Bun right though to a degree. There are many real rappers out and they don’t get the same praise or acknowledgement. Eminem even mentioned on his last album about how there are many talented rappers who will never reach the level that Jcole or Wayne is. That’s in part due to the labels and the consumer.

This was a really good topic!!! I feel like New York fell off back in the late 90’s early 00’s despite success from artist like Ja Rule, DMX, Jay Z, and company. The situation with East Coast/West Coast, which in my opinion was heavily pushed by an agenda, affected NY to where it never fully recovered and after that, the South took the crown. Radio played a role in where NY now fits into Hip Hop Rosen pole, because some of the more famous NY DJ’s played more out-of-state music than from local or NY born artist. Music stations have the power of influence, especially in the early 00’s.
@DLOOT11
@DLOOT11 6 месяцев назад
Disagree completely. It was no agenda. The East Coast rap authorities hated on other regions. So when other regions started making their own artist, and have their own scene, not needing East Coast rappers or their agenda that hate backfired. And now other regions have the rap game in a choke hold and the East is still trying to get it back to what it was in the late 80’s.
