This was one of the most touching dances I have ever seen performed. I love you, Bunny! You are a great inspiration to all of us. thank you for the memories. i will never forget it!
I will always feel blessed to have seen this live. It remains the only piece of theater, art or music that destroys me into tears every single time I see it or even think about it, even though it's not necessarily sad. And I can't explain it. I guess it's because Bunny Briggs was clearly possessed by Ellington's music here and it explodes into his dance. I had never seen dance like this before - where the expression comes through the pauses, and the seemingly incongruous music and dance combinations - except it's not incongruous at all. It's miraculous.
I got to work with Bunny Briggs when we Honored him at the Tap Extravaganza! What an honor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sending love to the heavens for Bunny Briggs. BTW I saw this Broadway hit - Black and BLue! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! Thanks for sharing
