Do not put the device until you pass the break-in!!! 2000 km. This is the minimum for running the engine. During break-in, even kickdown cannot be used! Read the manual for the car!
Great video!!! You mention that it is a good idea to connect the third sensor (waste gate sensor). Does this third sensor come standard with the JB4 kit? I was just wondering. Thanks.
Hey mate! Wonderful video and in depth, thank you. Noob here with just a few questions. Does the JB4 void BMW warranty? Is it detectable that it used to be installed after removing it? Dinan air filter looks sick - Is a specific tune required for it on stock car? Would that also void BMW warranty? Really appreciate the anticipated response, again, awesome video. Cheers.
Thanks mate! Warranty is dependant on BMW discretion and they normally look to see if there is an association between the mod and the failure. eg: a if your rim cracked a JB4 wouldn't void any warranty on the rim. But if you blew the turbo because of overboosting, then it could reasonably be associated to a JB4 but it's discretional and subjective. No tune required for a Dinan, just bolt it on and the engine will breathe. It could void warranty if a rock got ingested into the engine somehow, it could be the intakes fault but it's a stretch. If you put the wrong fuel in the tank (eg diesel) and blow the engine it could void warranty. Same concept. BMW seem to generally be pretty fair about it all, even mods.. but it's always a slight risk, but the reward is performance. Risk/reward.
@@iqno3185 Hey friend! If this device is removed from the car, then no one will ever know that he was standing there! Therefore, even if you blow up the engine, just remove the device and BMW will not refuse the warranty! Why? Because they will not be able to prove that this device was in the car! About the filter! While the car is under warranty, do not install this system, just buy a BMS filter or KN in a regular place, instead of the usual one, and it will be no worse than this system! ZhB 4 I bought and installed it even with a regular fire filter!
Actually the left hand and right hand in stallion is very similar, everything on the firewall switches, the location of the JB4 controller and the obd pass through. The ewg and engine harness connections are in the same location.
@@sdkautos I wonder if anyone has reported that. All the other wires are in a good spot to run and secure but that one looks last minute. Like you bought a piece of hose you had laying around to get you to work and planned on replacing it with the correct length later lol
