Guys maybe see this from the riders point of view. They worked so hard to get there, they are in a heavy adrenaline rush, and they are probably thinking about the course so they may not be thinking, or behaving rationally.
Do you know what I do when my horse refuses a jump? I whip and beat him until he’s bleeding That’s what several of these people in this video would say. Here’s what I would do if my horse refuses a jump: I’ll turn back round and go again, I don’t care if they refuse the first or the second or the third or the fourth etc, I will still try again. Beating will make your horse scared, scared of what will happen if they refuse. That jump could have something on it that the horse is genuinely scared of, it either jumps over something it is scared of or gets beaten. What would you choose??
The riders are pushing them to hard and the one horse that was shaking it's head, it means that the bit is to hursh on the month. And they fall because they are getting tired. Also it isn't a good idea to pick on the riders too. Even if they make mistakes and trying to beat the time. Doesn't mean that we/you can pick on them. I don't ride English but I've watched western riding kind and I don't like it. So please stop picking on them.
Cassidy Boesen how idiotic are you? they shake their head when theyre excited. also, they fall from tripping or slipping on the ground and in XC trials, are normally okay afterwards. the horses are all okay.
Cassidy Boesen That's not always true. I've tested my pony in many different bits. A hackamore and no bridle at all. He acts the same in all of them and has never had pain caused by his bit when ridden properly and not yanked on. The bit doesn't hurt the horse, they shake their heads for many reasons.
A horse is gonna refuse at some jumps, after all, there are like 60 jumps and they're galloping around the course... These riders need to understand their horses more, I'm disappointed...
Annabelle van de vate yes they do... sure they do.. because they’ve taken years to get there... trained with their horse for years and have completely fallen in love with their horse and their discipline! They know how much their horse loves cross country and it’s obvious that they are disappointed that they have let their horse down... from personal experience (I showjump) I know that after training with a horse for months and months and knowing that my horse absolutely loves every second that we are in the ring jumping the jumps that when she refuses or runs out it makes me really upset because I know I have done something wrong...
