Words from an old man: After seeing you on Maddie's recent video. I decided to find your channel and I subscribe to it. Watching you Maddie and the dogs play, give me much joy. When I was young I use to hang out with smart Pretty Girls/ladies. Watching you and Maddie's videos Is like hanging out with my Granddaughters. They too are smart and beautiful just like you guys. Thank you for your video!
I enjoy both yours and Maddie’s channels. It is so inspiring to watch young women living such adventurous lives. Thanks for taking this 62 year old young at heart woman along. ❤️
It was super how you helped Maddie out. You girls r living the dream that so many of us want to do. I have done my part. I will be 70 next birthday so warm and cuddling with all the amenities.
Glad you had a buddy with you. This is how I want to spend my retirement next year!! Off grid traveling throughout every state in the US. Wherever you are right now is absolutely beautiful! Being from LA, we NEVER see snow or cold weather really. 🐾🐾
I am so glad to see your Dickenson heater. After researching vans, buses, and tiny homes, I may have decided on a truck camper. My biggest question was if aa Dickenson was possible. Thanks. Tara is a doll.
@@SheRoamsWild we have two rescued pups but like we often say it’s as if they rescued us by bringing so my joy and life into our lives. If you don’t mind me asking us Tara afraid of stairs that you carry her in and out? Sorry if you already shared that in an episode- lack of retention here. Lol
That was so fun. I remember hiking with a friend once a week for a year up the same mountain range and being able to experience all the seasons. Winter was my favorite. Thx for the reminder.
The beautiful environment you showed suits you well The lake, mountains and forests with snow And a good choice of car that is prepared for all weather forecasts Have FUN and be SAFE
Girl get some gloves lol. The snow while cold, was just stunning. Tara sure enjoyed it. I'm in SC now and building on my van still. Yesterday it was 86 degrees out. Its still in the 40s at night but last night only got down to 61. I have a portable ac but still no heat source yet. Not sure what I can safely use in a mini van. Although I have one of the largest mini vans (20 ft), I don't have the height. Any suggestions? I sure hope Maddie got the heat going. Last yr with only an electric blanket and my Bluetti, I had to sleep.in -10 °. You truly look radiant this week. Have fun and be safe.❤
I watched Maddie's version of this story and now just watched your version. I have been following you both for a long time. I will have to say that you girls have inspired me to to go out and film and edit more. I am currently not living the RV/Camping lifestyle but hope to start doing that soon. You girls are very pretty and talented! I appreciate the boldness of you stepping out and taking on the road as solo female travelers! Let me know if you ever reach the Ozark Mountain region! I would be glad to show you guys around! Great Video...thanks for sharing!
Good evening Alex, Maddie & double ear rubs Terra & Eliza ! Here’s to Friends who are there for one another to share or help through any situation that may arise ! The meal looked so delicious ! Best of luck Maddie in getting your problem resolved ! Hopefully it’s something simple & not costly ! Congrats on your 1 year Anniversary ! Double Congrats to you & Terra for Celebrating 2 years since you were each Blessed with one another ! You ladies be safe, stay warm & keep smiling !
You should invest in a Gethercover, windshield cover. It covers not only your windshield but your driver and passenger windows and allows you to fold your mirrors underneath. No need to scrape or brush snow off!
Your body makes enough heat, you just need the right gear to retain it. I have a TETON Sports Celsius XL Sleeping Bag that is rated to -25F. I get the XL so I can put my regular flannel sleeping bag inside it when needed. If for some reason you are in -60F, you can put a space blanket between the 2 sleeping bags to retain more heat. Don't sleep with the space blanket on you, you will sweat and then freeze when you come out. Baffin Titan boots are comfort rated to -148F.
I'm a North Dakotan so seeing you clear off snow with an oar was very amusing. Fun fact if you didn't know: you can use a credit card (you don't care about) to scrap ice off your windshield if you don't have an ice scraper *in general*. Have you thought about getting a bigger ice scraper that you could maybe put in between your seats or something? It would be so much quicker. But considering you probably don't deal with snow that much it probably doesn't make sense to have one.
It looks like Maddie’s a great Cook! The mention of what she had cooked was like something on a menu that was perfect for me and then seeing it……sent me checking out “Soups” in my Southern Living Cookbook. Great video!
Wow it looks like a winter wonderland! ❄️😍 I would equally be scared and excited. I totally want to experience this someday but we gotta prepare for it more. Also I can wait for Terra and coffee to hang out again and run around!
i carry 2 - 5 gal buckets of salt ,the last time i was in montana , we were in rest area, spend the night there, the next morning we couldnt get out due to the snow fall the night before? went to a small store and purchase some rock salt , spread it around the truck/trailer and in front of me toward a path onto the highway, it took about 4 hrs, but were out, so since that trip , i carry rock salt and be prepared. on around trip i watch a man with a 50 foot hose from a propane tank and a harbvor freight blow torch to smelt down the snow to get out , its something else if you want to get out of the snow .
You've certainly done an excellent job with your truck and camper. 4WD is handy for winter weather. You and Maddie make good travel buddies and both your dogs too.
I mentioned it on another channel. If you make it to town, get some newspaper. You can crumple it up and stuff it between your clothing and /or bedding for insulation. I used it often when doing evening newspaper deliveries in upstate western new york in the 1980s. Plus, it's what the homeless used too.
I have a similar unit from Inergy called the Flex 1500 with 2000wh lithium (your;s 1152wh) and love it but it will not heat my van with an electric heater for any significant amount of time since most heaters are 800w and will run about 2 ish hours on 1000wh. I run a small fridge, lights, fans, recharge phones etc, c-pap, and cook almost exclusively with electric. My heat is from propane and a Wave 6 radiant heater and I have a back-up Coleman camp stove. I love your setup, plug and play solar systems are the way to go for those of us who are electrically challenged. Can't wait to watch your winter camping adventures.
Just found your channel love it I'm a Rodeo Cowboy and I'm watching you a plus I own a cattle ranch your eyes are gorgeous stay safe and happy Journeys
Winter came fast. I was telling my son about how your friend had no heat and he told that if you got the pray candles 3 or 4 of them would heat the van or camper. He used to use them when he live in an apartment and had no heat. Just a thought. I have been watching you for a couple of years now and enjoy them.
pretty damn awesome is pretty right lol. I was smiling soo much my eyes reared up. I am in Minnesota finishing up on my truck, build, and I’ll be heading straight south in a matter of a couple of weeks. Aren’t very many people in the Midwest doing what I’m doing that I know of.
Awesome lifestyle and I definitely enjoy you talk..you have a unique way of talking and writing about your experiences I think you would make an Awesome writer because you are a very creative person with your words and expressions..be safe there definitely is a Beauty in the seasons and you describe them like a professional...you both be very careful and safe out there ✌️
She has a coat and booties, and is great at telling me when she wants them! Her coat is meant for this weather, and during the day it was at or slightly above freezing :)
LOL, I will never, ever understand people who like cold and snow. I lived in Ohio until I was 12, and southern Missouri until I was 19. I moved to southwest Texas as soon as I could. I'd never travel up north unless it's summer. My ideal retirement? Belize. I mean, if you like the cold, more power to you. But it's just nothing I'll ever understand.
Hello buddy! Very nice video, lovely camping and nice camera work. Keep on ! I also make candles videos, before in Russia, ow in Vietnam. Take care! Good luck with your channel!
