Man I just gotta tell ya, I love your videos. Keep it up. I’m in NE Texas, backyard strip. Love all the Texas stuff! I mean Idaho & Nevada are great I guess, but where is that anyway?? 😆. We do that kind of flying along the Red River, fun stuff!
Thanks Brad! I love making the videos. There are lots of places to play in Texas. I’d love to come up to your neck of the woods some time. I’ve flown over the Red River many times and thought about trying out some of the sandbars, but I’m usually loaded with stuff on my way to Arkansas or Oshkosh. What do you fly?
Drop in anytime if you’re ever in the area! I’m Foggy Bottom (77TE). I fly a Cessna 182C & just picked up an Aventura amphib from San Marcos on Monday. Brother has a Kolb Mark III here with 100hp 912S, dad has a Weedhopper II ultralight. Grew up in ultralights from 1980 on till now, hoping to mod the 182 out with STOL kit & bigger tires someday. I’ll be at Cedar Mills (3T0) Fly-In Oct 20-21 on Lake Texoma, (airstrip-side cabin), Reklaw (7TA7) Fly-In Oct 27-28, and volunteering at STOL competition at Sulphur Springs first weekend of Nov. I’m sure we’ll cross paths someday.
You mentioned you had the traffic warning in your headset how did you get that to work? I use a stratux, foreflight and Zulu headset like you but not sure how you did it
Dave, when my Stratus is connected to Foreflight on my iPad and my iPad is Bluetooth connected to my Bose headset I get traffic alerts. I don't remember specifically turning this on, but in Foreflight it is in Settings - Alerts (under Preferences). Click on ... On the screen I have most of the options enabled. Traffic Alerts, Device Temp Alert, 500' AGL Alerts, etc. The only one I have turned off actually is "Terrain/Obstacle Alerts" given the type of flying I do in the Highlander. It would be screaming at me all day if that was on. 🙂
