As an American- I only learned of you guys since the invasion but you are both so awesome and show those of us in the west that there are many Russians with whom we have a lot in common. Because of Russians like you guys- there is a hope Russia will be free, democratic, modern, and open to the world one day! Take everything one day at a time and hold on to that thought- Russia will be a place you can feel like home in again one day. There has to be peace in Ukraine soon. The Russia-Ukraine war cannot get to the point that nuclear weapons are used. Billions of people will die if there is a nuclear world war. I watch a few channels like this, I have Ukrainian relatives, but the channels like this remind me there are good people there too. There’s another channel I like, Vasya in the hill. He does some amazing charity work. I always think he would make a great president too
I watch Vasya in the Hay too. He is a good man who does good work and shows a side of Russia that I'm sure the government would rather outsiders not see. I hope all the Russian people I watch on RU-vid will be ok in the end. They will need that in the future to make it better

My family has the same story and settled near north battleford Saskatchewan, learned recently there are a large number of us in canada, it's almost like history is repeating itself here

A situation like this is why I wanted to stock up on Weapon, Ammo, Kits and explosives if a guerilla War needs to happen in a case like it is there now. But I am poor and cant even afford a tiny solar panel for become more self dependent. Well cant even buy a used car. So Ive seen this coming for years but didnt help me at all. You should check if you have distant Polish heritage (even many generations ago). In such a case you would be able to apply for a Polish heritage card and move there. You definitely are one of the few Russians who I would like to see in Europe.

Well done, young man. In the USA during the Vietnam war, many anti-war protestors burned their draft cards. I, myself, did not register for the draft, which was a crime - although the statute of limitations on my crime has long since passed. May you live in peace and some day return to your homeland to help it rejoin the family of civilized nations of the world.
There is a huge moral difference between not wanting to defend Vietnam against Communism (and backing from the USSR and China) and not wanting to help Putin subjugate Ukraine.
It’s a good small act of defiance. The US is due for some pro-peace protests. If people did something like that today i think there would be Much Political Violence

Very patriotic act Zack. My oldest brother, and some of his High School friends, burned their draft cards here in America. They refused to serve in Vietnam in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Some of them had to flee to Canada. .......Russia's war is even more brutal and unnecessary. .....Have you ever heard of a Ukrainian Comedian called Yakov Smirnoff? He came to America during the cold war in the 1980's. He now has his own Theatre in Branson, Missouri. .....He did a Beer commercial that was so funny. It showed him in a Bar. He is talking to a dozen people or so. He says "I love America. Because you can always find a party here. In Russia Party always finds you." LOL. :) .....Keep up your great work.

I can't help but think that young men from the far east and other far-flung regions would have the hardest time leaving now due to such expensive flights and being so far from the border. It's dangerous and it won't be easy. But if Russia is truly going to change, Zack and those like him realize it has to come from INSIDE Russia. No one else can do it for them. This is something they have to do themselves or else Russia will soon be so isolated it will cease to exist in just a few more decades. When you said at the end "there is no fire"...that's not true. @@generalkayoss7347 it's not completely different. It's a protest of action taken by one's government and the use of the draft for soldiers for controversial war. Different things, yes, but it is fine to draw similarities.
Not the same at all. US was fighting communism is Vietnam. Putin is reinstating communism. Don't interpret this as an endorsement of the Vietnam war, it was just very different.

What's the point in that? Austria wasn't sending you to the front to die as cannon fodder in an unjust war. If anything your Army was there to fight against men like Putin if need be. You can hardly make a comparison to Zack's situation and yours.
