Snow has finally returned to the Big Sky country of Montana so I'm going to burn some slash piles and then continue in building these buggy wood buggy wheels we have started. Using new roller bearing hubs, or restoring original Sarven patent hubs, from the hubs out, wheels are build the same. This is a close look at how that happens.

Okay, I have thought about this for two days now and have come up with a few ways you did the spokes and wheel. Probably all of them wrong! I am an amateur (75 years old) editor and have been working with Davinci Resolve and Hit Film for five years, Premier and Sony before that, so believe me, I appreciate the quality of your videos. I reviewed your small town and just realized that you stated that you have been doing this for several years and have probably gone through sever iterations of software. Have you ever done a complete video on your shop video setup, as I pointed out to my wife you are using many, many cameras or doing a lot of staging! I enjoyed the sagebrush burning and I have done similar when cleaning up fence rows from the days of cows and lanes between the fields to twenty foot disk and four bottom plows. I am sure that many people cannot appreciate the beauty of the area and how you take it for granted and the flatlanders think it is awl inspiring. I worked for a Federal State Marketing Order in northeastern Colorado for several years then went into radio broadcasting. After awhile I took the front range for granted and it was not till I took a station in Iowa, that I really missed the long views and clean air. Enough rambling, to the point! What software are you using and are you doing the editing yourself?

Regarding the burn pile: The first summer after I moved onto horse property I had a huge manure pile. I did not have a tractor or manure spreader yet and it was getting large. I was limited by the height I could dump a wheelbarrow so the pile was three feet high and twenty feet long. As the summer progressed, July was hot and dry and the manure dried up. I thought “Why don’t I just burn it?” I waited for the next big thunderstorm forecast to make sure the fire didn’t get outta hand. I lit the oldest and driest end of the pile and it burned slowly with an unimpressive flame. The rains came down hard and the fire was seemingly extinguished. It wasn’t exactly extinguished. The outer three inches of manure got wet but essentially shed the rest of the rain off of the pile. The inner part of the pile continued to smolder until Christmas! I was like Oliver on the TV show” Green Acres”. I learned all the lessons the hard way that in agriculture you are a slave to the seasons and the daily weather.😉

All that snow over there and as dry as a bone down here. No rain worth talking about in months. We'd be back over if it wasn't for the COVID business. Wouldn't mind going out and burning a few brush piles with you. Down here in the granite belt we would be doing that around August - September at the end of winter. Cooler fires that don't that don't get out of hand and burn as many fence posts. Don't have sagebrush in this neck of the woods but we sure do have a lot of lantana. Nice bit of editing at 10:40 and 18:50 Mr. Engel. Please say G'day to Diane. Also, greetings from my mates Murcho and cranky old Lyle.

I enjoyed the woodfire and winter chat. It's midsummer here and I am looking forward to winter and having the fire on again. Question on the spade drills, do you find good quality ones minimise tearout on exit? Or is it simply a cost factor in using spade over a forstner bit? I'm only an amateur in the "dead tree carcass" field, precision machining is my trade. Best wishes from New Zealand.
