James Brewster began building carriages In New Haven CT in 1810 and later started in New York City in 1827. A premier carriage and coach company still sought after today by carriage collectors. These wheels belong to a carriage in New Mexico today and are being restored for continued service, as a testimony to the high quality standards upheld by the Brewster & Co of New York.

And now they are good for another hundred years. You always thank us for watching, but we are the ones to thank you for allowing us to come along on the ride. And a wonderful ride it is. It's amazing to see old equipment come back to life. So thank you Dave. The ride is entertaining, educational and just plain fun.

I been big fan following you for a number of years now. I’ll never in my lifetime need to build a set of wheels or repair them. It just leaves me in awe of the numerous jigs, fixtures and gizmos that are built by your own hands. I can’t recall ever you having an unsolvable problem with that you couldn’t overcome. You sir are a national treasure. All your video material should be preserved forever.

You are a perfectionist, even when you are just "preserving" instead of "restoring". As with that mudwagon that had an accident and had been put back together by somebody as "good enough", your idea of "good enough" is most people's idea of MUSEUM QUALITTY, no joke. I love watching expert geniuses at work. May you have many years to come!!

It is comforting to see that even a highly knowledgeable and experienced specialist makes a beginners fault! It is however the experienced man double checks and is not afraid to share his error with us. Comforting to know that such people still exist.

I loved watching you restore these Brewster wheels. My grandfather completely restored a Brewster Bachelor's Brougham with a Washington blue carriage and black wheels, complete with polished brass lamps and tufted upholstery. It was a beautiful piece of craftsmanship when it was built in New York in the late 19th century. The carriage works was torn down for the construction of the Empire State building..

Time and again i have seen your magic either with serious rebuilding, not so major repairs or just full blown crafting of all new assemblies from the wheel rim inward. Every time i am blown away with the actual bits and pieces AND the necessary knowledge of those bits and pieces needed for a successful outcome. Not been disappointed yet,,, do not expect to be in the future either. Well done sir.

I do tech work and have had senior/team lead positions. Something I made a point of telling my team is "that I'm senior doesn't keep me from being wrong. I need you to be comfortable questioning me." I'd use my mistakes as part of training, including how to own one's mistakes. Aside, seeing your forklift in some videos brought a smile as soon as I saw the logo. I don’t know which is the most important, knowledge or ability. You look at something and it’s not right, there are others that see the same thing and maybe they know it’s not right. The difference is you know what’s wrong, you also have the abilities to to make it right. I know you’re a rookie, after 50 some years as a machinist I made some rookie mistakes to. We all will if we’re working and doing. Just remember it took 9 years before the committee found someone that was capable of building the Borax Wagons. It took that long to find a man with the Knowledge and Ability to take on that project. Thank you for all you do and give to us. God bless, stay safe

I guess I was referring to the knowledge that goes with the ability to do jobs. Some people have book knowledge, schooling. They have no hands on ability and knowledge like I see when you’re working.
