I am Burnley through and through and feel the need to apologize for the behavior of the Townsfolk, i must admit the old joke "How can you tell a Burnley fan has been on Microsoft word? Tip Ex all over the screen", it's true in many regards.
Ahahah you met Ron! I got a picture with you when you got off the train. That guy who came out of college is called Ron, I go there one day a week for my apprenticeship and he knows I’m a student of the college but if you don’t have your badge on he will go fucking insane, Hated by everyone!
I don't like those places, have to go into Todmorden at least 3x a week really wish that I didn't, they have these "Kindness" signage everywhere but only if you agree with every thing that they believe. Not a nice town at all. So up themselves.
The station opened on 18 September 1848, as a temporary terminus for the East Lancashire Railway whilst an extension was built between Accrington and Colne. It closed four months later when the Colne extension opened.[4] However, the surrounding area developed quickly with industry, housing and the local barracks, which led to the station being reopened under its current name in 1851.
We still have some old tunnels left over from the East Lancs railway, they redeveloped them for walkers and cyclists, did a decent job as it was like a scene from Trainspotting for years.
Burnley Barracks was a military installation at Burnley in Lancashire. Built for cavalry in 1820, later used for infantry & storage 1820-1828. hope that helps you Charlie, love your videos by the way!
Sorry but he's wrong about the 'university' and that they're all over 18... My son goes to that 'college' and is 17 and they're loads that go there that are younger than him... At the very least it's very creepy and verging on being noncy!... He may as well been doing it at a school... If my 16 year old daughter had told me that a creepy unkempt man was eye-balling and filming at the entrance, I'd be very worried and rightly so... Not cool, dude!
You know the age of consent is 16, right? Nothing noncery about it, in fact calling people that when they're clearly not that is a dangerous game to play.
@@TriTr-gk8bo I said 'verging on'... If you're happy about a middle-aged man staring through a window of the college for ages and refusing to leave, where your young daughter is studying, then good for you but I wouldn't be happy with it and 99.9% of parents wouldn't be happy with it either and would think it to be very unsettling behaviour... I don't know if you have a daughter but the way they get treated by men, you'd be very much on edge with this weird behaviour at your daughter's college... It's almost a daily occurrence that my daughter gets some kind of creepy guy targeting her... Anyone who's a dad of a young daughter, would never behave in the way he's done!... It's very odd... The fact he was wrong about the age... There are 16 year olds studying there and it was HIM, who mentioned 18 year olds as a point of reference not anyone else!... If he's saying it's okay because they are 18, then surely he's alluding to it not being okay if they're younger!... And they are younger, that's the point!
The Weavers triangle over the last forty years has had literally tens of millions of pounds spent on it and yet it looks no different today than it did in the early 1980s. Next time you visit the town have a look at Healeywood, then go and look at Stoneyholme and Daneshouse or Burnleywood. Most people get out of Burnley, we left in 1997, those left are either old aged pensioners, chronically sick or otherwise unemployable. There is a huge drug dependency issue in the town.
You've done a great disservice to Burnley with that statement. The weavers triangle is vastly improved, the Trafalgar flats have gone and the canal looks good from that end. Also the vast majority of people in Burnley work and it's no worse than any other town in England. I'd rather live here than say Manchester.
@@darrylbaker1692 A lot of the buildings around weavers triangle in the area where the original mills where have been renovated, UCLAN have acquired a lot of the buildings and are in the process of renovating Newtown Mill but as far as I am aware the front of the building is listed so has to remain.
@mummyd1990 it is but we don't like clever fuckers that walk round our town with a video taking the piss ' he was lucky he didn't get battered ' hopefully he dose next time he comes hear ha ha
I went to Burnley when I was about 19, with my first proper girlfriend and her family - I remember being amazed that the beer was half the price of the pubs 'daan saaf'. Everything there was dirt cheap. We went there for the weekend and her stepdad just took us to a working mans club the whole time, not exactly seeing the sights...
yeh. i agree from littleborough. i like todmorden better than boro but i like all the stops down the line right through to leeds. tod and hebden have nice things the locals respect that would get destroyed in boro. he was in rochdale last week.
How ironic how this guy complains about privacy being eroded by the state. And then he complains that "We are not China" when he repeatedly violates the privacy of others.
I found that burned-out pub quite tragic. Edited to say that the lady at Royal Mail seems just a bit young and naive, give her a break - she didn't go mental at you. Her colleagues seemed fine with you.
Charlie i lived in that pub for 8 years in the late 70.s My Parents were the landlords . It was a Magnificent building . Was sad to leave our home . Sadder to see it like this .
Royal Mail, firstly there's nothing roayl or regal about that business whatsoever, secondly, I'm convinced they send staff on special training to be that rude and stupid.
Where I live if they wanted to call the police on 101 it's a 40 min wait so the not allowed killjoys like the sorting office lady would be waiting quite a long time.
G'day Charlie, just a quick one, public photography in China is no problem what so ever mate. I've been going there and photographing whatever I wanted to. Police, police stations, have a great photo of me having a beer in the bank of China in Changsha, nooooo problem, so my point is, after watching all these British autitors and vloggers, the truth is, China is so relaxed, Britain is fully anal. As for the yanks, well then buggers are out of control 😅 Love the vids.
How dare that despicable man accuse you of filming children. What a horrible state of affairs. There’s too much of that these days, trying desperately to get someone in trouble, playing the filming children card.
Charlie has to educate the British public they seem to already psyoped into thinking Britain is North Korea. Do you think the BBC is responsible of this mass hyteria?
Charlie you should reshow the Classic RED video for all your new viewer's, such a classic never get tired of watching that 😂 wounder if she ever still checks your videos just a thought 😂😂😂
Ey up Charlie. A belated happy birthday. I was just watching 'Bill Bailey rewrites 'Happy Birthday ' n I nearly spat mi brew out laughing coz of how painfully accurate it is. I thought you may appreciate it. Peace!
Since when did security guards become employable when they have dementia or Alzheimer's? I also note, that I before E does not hold true excepting for C, it also holds true after ZH!
Why is it a daily part of life hundreds of millions of children in the world to see animals having their throat slit and bled out.. but a NO NO.. for British children?
I go to Burnley (by choice) every 10 days or so via the X43 bus from Prestwich, through some super countryside. I have lunch in the Mechanics bistro and mooch along the canal, through Thomson Park and Charter walk, which are all very pleasant. I haven't encountered a nutter yet, but then I'm not seeking them out. Many of the buildings are superb, and for the rest, my instinct leads me away from decay rather than towards it. As a visitor, I feel comfortable in the town.
If you can be arsed going to Burnley it must surely be time to visit Dewsbury. Come on Charlie, adventure awaits. Some really good architecture too, plus some shitty stuff too. Please visit my home town soon.
Got married in burnley even have family there.nice place someparts.lol.townley hall is nice place big park.also football club just behi d the town centre.
Sorry to be Mr. Pedantic, but that '1960s' diesel engine is actually from the 1980's. It's a class 156 DMU - constructed between 1987 and 1989 - if I'm not mistaken.
Normally enjoy watching your channel Charlie, This one however is clearly a revenge video as a result of the last video you did in Burnley. We deal with customers from all over the UK and I have to say people from Burnley are some of the friendliest we have come across. Just take the first Video on the chin like a man Charlie.
Security just keep on giving, why dont they train these idiots in photography laws, ''you cant take photos of the building'' especially this individual who goes over and above with his demands and BS.
@@MoneyMoves-qm1gfIf you consider it weird to make 'crap' content by repeatedly visiting the same places, why on earth do bother watching and even sullying yourself by commenting?
Just stumbled across your channel . Your energy is really good. You expose proper stupid people and north korean style ideas from people around this beautiful country
it is grim up north... wouldnt beg to live in Bradford, Burnley, Bolton. Get yourself to Bradford for more of the same deprivation, depression and urban decay.
I love most of Charlies videos, his confrontation videos can be a laugh, but the best ones are the ones showing towns/areas. I been to many, if not all the places and been on the canals a lot, its great escorting boaters through Cottagers Cove ! dirty area and not just the floor. Excellent Charlie. When are you back up in Scotland Charlie ?
very witty and sarcastic humour you have to colour these films showcasing the real and distorted reality were living through, watched you in the Love police with the other fella years ago. Very Good.
You are correct about Burnley Police, they are despicable. They are rubbish at solving real crimes, but are excellent at picking on people who are just minding their own business, getting involved in family disputes which have nothing to do with them. I could write a book on Burnley police. I left Burnley in 1997 and I have never looked back since.
Feels a bit like poverty porn. Mixed feelings about Burnley. Being from Blackburn from a Rovers fanatic family I was raised to detest the dingles. But , most folk I've come into contact with from Burnley have been lovely , down to earth folk with a passion for their football club. It does seem tho that they are a little over subscribed in the bell end department. Up the Rovers !
Reason its called Burnley Barracks was because the that area there used to be a Barracks, there's still a bit of the external perimeter wall behind the car show room and inspire
4:36 Is that a dedicated monochrome sensor, Charlie, or a post-processing filter? Just curious because I'm still holding onto my old Huawei P20 Pro because I love the dedicated mono sensor, but I can't find a modern phone which has one. And the phone's other camera tech is a little bit old and shit now. Was great at the time
Live view in mono opens up a whole new world for creative abstracts without the distraction of colour . I still use dslrs rather than mirrorless but mono liveview is the bee knees for taking stills .
@@EvenBigger-Brother I'm with you! I'm only into stills really. Glad someone knows what I mean. Any insight into Charlie's sudden-but-brief monochrome choice, or rather the tech behind it? I'm guessing it's all post-processing at this point? We're losing our dedicated mono sensors / film. Let's continue to stand up and fight for this cause. Kids like Charlie think cameras just automatically do everything /s
