Gracie Allen is so good. She really was the strongest part of their act. I was born in the late 1940s and remember old time radio shows when they were still on the air in the early 1950s and these TV shows when they came on in the 1950s. We had a TV. I remember distinctly having our weekly family nights but my mom would never let us leave until after the Honeymooners” was over so we changed our family night….8-). Of course my parents are dead now and I have childhood flash backs when I see these shows. Pretty much every TV show in the early 1950s had been a radio show in the 1940s. And some even in the 1930s. Burns and Allen was one of those on since the 1930s.

George and Gracie never finished their routine about how her brother Willie got out of jail at 28:54, because time was running out. But they repeated it in a later episode, so here's what she basically said: Willie painted a picture of an open window on the wall of his jail cell. While the guard went in to close it, Willie walked out of the cell! "And that's how he got out.......Gracie, say good night."

Today is June 29th 2024. And this was the best option for clean, funny and wholesome entertainment.
