I remember the Dominators!!!!!! I was Eight and i lived virtually on the 37 and 38 routes. I loved those buses but by the time it was 01 0r 02 those things were totally buggered! the thing predominantly remember was the smell of damp cloths on the things, sortof a dank musty smell... anyways, they were nice to ride on in the back and up top... oh how i miss them :(
With the B7Ls forced to finish last month due to the ULEZ, everything seen in this video is now history. However, 4706, 32059 (219 at this time) and 32067 (then 236) live on as preserved vehicles.
It's funny because me and my grandad used to go to Birmingham when I was a kid and we used to go on the 900 bus, they were rattly and not a very good ride. Then a few years later Centrebus in Leicester bought some of those MCW type old buses and they were running along my local route here in Leicester haha. Just couldn't get away from them! Don't get me wrong, they are classic buses but they were awful, when they did a gear change they jerked and made a BANG sound haha, and the windows leaked!
@coltsuperocean10 nope, serious. some of them have private numberplates now. one last week had a gearbox issue as it wouldn't go forward when selected in Drive mode.
Hope that personal bus driver on that long gone Arriva Dart is sacked from pulling a finger towards you as I had problems with a few drivers before for taking photos of buses and coaches, they're right wankers and I can't put up with some of them with bad attitudes
