In this short video, I talk about a few similarities and differences between two popular 85L upright fridges, the Bushman and the Kings. Hope you find it interesting.
finally got the new kings 85 litre upright very happy with it brother inlaw went and brought the bushman last summer his temperature was fluctuating all day my kings fridge stayed the same and uses bugger all power
That's good to hear.Mine is still going great as well. Pity your brother in law is having trouble as it looks as if they as pretty much the same fridge. 🤙
First honest review I’ve ever seen on RU-vid. Get sick of watching all the other ass kissing reviewers who tell you complete bs so they get free shit from companies. Glad I watched this review, thanks mate 👍
@@ClaytonCookpanda Exactly as it sounds Clayton, eg: say you fitted your fridge in a prefabricated box then one screw on each side is adequate for securing the fridge in place
@@georgesdesk yeh okay cool, thanks. Not sure whether to just try the Kings. Have a Clearview drop down and 70lt Ironman dual zone, but it's 68kg combined.
The fridges are built in the same factory using the same tooling. The bushman fridges use a different insulation material that can handle humidity in the tropics. During r& d the doors where warping & not sealing. Bushman are tried & tested & are less likely to let you down. On the other hand kings offer a full replacement warranty. But that’s no good in remote areas when your fridge door is rooted.
wow, def come from the same factory, i know which one id go and buy, if you can save $500 to spend on something else why not, thanks for the comparison.
Hi, I’m a fridge mechanic and looked at both fridges prior to buying the kings at half the price and extra 3 yr warranty. They are almost exactly the same with the only difference being a couple of holes in cabinet Cheers Out There Touring
@@toofarsouthoffroad yeah totally agree. I was about to purchase the other one the day kings released their fridge. I went and did the comparisons and checked components exactly the same and 3yrs extra warranty. Made to buy the must have brand for the price of the sticker🤔 Cheers Out There Touring
@@ottouring I have to say it is nice to see that Kings are not ripping people off. We have been using our fridge for a while now and still very happy with it. It is great to hear feed back from some one in your field of expertise . Thank you
Hi, I'm sorry i don't know. We shot that video nearly a year ago now and both fridges have been installed in different cars. Kings do have a new upright fridge out again now.I am not sure if there have been any changes to the plumbing side of things with the new model.

@@jwoods6585That Kings Spec would be based on average hourly usage. 1.5A x 13.2v = about 20W average over the day, when compressor is running it wold actually draw more like 45w-55w, so around 3.5A-4A when running.
Hey Adam, I did a bit of research and all i could find was some second hand info saying that Bushman have taken legal action against Kings and the are only allowed to see the stock they have, once gone that will be it, How true this is i don't know but if true its a real shame.
Hi B , i tried to find out about this but all i could find was a comment about some legal action being taken and kings only allowed to sell the stock they had on hand, I have not seen them on their web site for a while now. Wait and see what happens.
Hi Marty, Yes very easy. Just a few screws to undo . The holes are already predrilled on the other side. You will only need to drill new holes for the handle, where ever yo want it. You can even have it on the side instead of the top depending on your install. There is a youtube video floating around on how to do it to, cheers.🤙
Hey Bob, no worries, It was just a bit of luck that i was able to make a quick video before both the fridges went in different directions and were installed. I'm sure there are more things i missed. Just thought it would be interesting to have them side by side for a moment.Cheers.
@@angusbennett6179 I was in kings last Friday looking for this model, only to find a different model with an awful centre latch that needs two hands to open.
Okay, the still look very similar to the bushman’s. They probably had to change a certain amount of things as the bushman probably had a patent on it. Eg the latch the digital thermostat etc
