Buskers shouldn’t need to apply for a special permit to busk. When are we, the people going to stand up to these beuracracies that want to control every single aspect of our lives & find a way to tax rhe hell out of us once again.
It happens where there are more street performers than prime open space. I'd rather have an orderly outdoor shopping space instead of having a yahoo with a guitar every 15 feet, drowning each other out and making the actual commerce suffer. In these situations, it's better for all parties. I'm sure there are areas outside the designated "time slot" zone that he could go without a permit.
I love his statement at the very end.... and, yes, he's so right... "Life's just too short" for something like... Great guitar playing and live looping perfomance... I like the idea of them both playing together, as well... could've been nice... All the best to you Markus... and for becoming a musician, someone who's generally able to make the world a better place...
That interruption pissed me off a little I must say. I was really enjoying Jack Flash. Ol' mate with the problem could have at least let you finish that awesome rendition. PS, we got lots of rules in Australia. We even have rules for the rules! 🤣
The man was understandably upset that you were (unknowingly) "breaking the rules" that he had to strictly follow. However, he could have let you finish the tune and then CALMLY explained the permitting process as the 'official' did. He seemed unnecessarily upset and that's not healthy for a person of his obvious years. Keep on rocking and we'll keep listening. Cheers! 🦘🦘🦘
@@hakaraiakorakoropiha1982 this guy goes around the world giving out his talent for free, he has even participated in the "Playing for Change" music videos with world-renowned celebrity muso`s, and then you come along and make a FUCKED UP comment like that, you a fuckin egg ow, gb2NZ!!!
That obnoxious non Australian dude keeps pointing at his watch while yelling at and not being to explain what the hell he's yelling about.. You are correct life is too short to deal with these types, including Australia and New Zealand....the rest of the world appreciates you.
Sounds great man. Love your take on that old classic. When I first heard you sing Crossfire, I thought it was gonna be SRV, then realized it was the Stones.
how could any one with a soul be against music and stop such an obviously talented musician, Markus is the man . all my best to you and yours from Liverpool
It doesn't matter where in the world you are there are always the occasional grumble Bum you are a visitor and as such, we should always extend that courtesy. why didn't he just explain the rules and had a jam with you that's what I would have done. love your music mate just keep doing what you do, I hope this hasn't spoilt your trip.
M O N E Y and I don't blame the guy, no telling how far he let you go before he said anything. You have a responsibility to look around, this isn't your first time, you know how it goes.
@@sandspar Of course I looked around. I saw the guy set up quite some distance away. There are designated locations, with enough of a distance for both to be heard without problems. He started playing in the middle of my song and turned up far too loud for comfort. We could have both had a good session, but his mind was stuck on the rules. This was ‘his time’ and he wasn’t going to share 🙂 I had no idea about the special rules for that street. The website did not mention them
"you are a visitor and as such, we should always extend that courtesy" No, he is an interloper. Busking is a livelihood for some people, and taking someone's slot (time and place) is taking away their job. "why didn't he just explain the rules and had a jam with you" He DID explain the rules. As for jamming: A) Why should he? B) Not every musician is into that. There are many highly skillful and talented musicians who don't approach music that way.
The guy that was scratching on a chalk board got jealous of Markus and started making up rules to get him to stop playing...wow thats funny and sad at the same time!😅😥
Your improv is freaking amazing!! Great voice and fantastic riffs. Trust me, the $$ should go in your guitar case. Woodwind new age shit belongs @ the growers market or coop. Rock on!
Great buskers like you add so much to an otherwise boring street scene. Loved your version of JJF. Great guitar and vocals. Was funny when the person first approached you and you're singing.... "Well it's alright. in fact it's a gas..." ....great timing.
Your guitar looks and sounds real good, great playing, beautifull, sweet singing and spoken voice (remind's me of George Harrisson). Keep it on, bro ! 👍
You were kind and polite to vacate the spot . But the other chap was rude and appeared crude . He could have politely requested to move after you finished playing 🎸 . Peace 🕊️
As a professional musician, in your whole time, i can speak with experience as well. How many times has a venue pulled your power after you went over tome limit? Or lowered the sound in middle of song? It's an asshole thing to do, but I've seen cops standing at the backdoor warning them to stop or else they get tickets for disturbing the peace in some towns. Not everyone thinks, ahhh it's cool let them finish, it will be ok, because egos of musicians go if you let one slide, they all will do it
Concern the source, I rules are rules, the old China man was kinda rude too but at the end of the day. You have an concert elsewhere,,, keep playing the blues brother. 4:38
Apples and oranges. You are talking about an act being stopped so that silence may reign (so to speak). This was a case of one performer who should have stopped so that another could have their rightful time. It's not about silencing one performer, but about NOT silencing the performer whose rightful turn it is.
There are literally hundreds of us local musos who want to play there. That's why the rules exist, because back in the 80's, you'd trip over them. You're lucky you didn't try this in the mid 90's. I saw punch ups.
In the 70s and 80s people would gather around and graciously invite Markus to play. Today there's such animosity and division between people instilled by governmental laws, that people willfully intervene from enjoying one of the most beautiful thing in life called MUSIC. Inhumane. My love for your music is ineffable. Thanks for doing this. Shame on this man who rudely interrupted you.
It doesn't take a genius to work out that some streets are more popular (and lucrative) than others - how would YOU resolve demand outstripping available time?
steve Vais most important tools on stage is his guitar and a ventilator to make his long hair flow! the wind in the street you were playing did the same with your hair, just the other direction. too bad you got interrupted......... i liked it!
