if they wanted to do a “chore” pack with vacuums, laundry, mopping etc it’d make a lot more sense and feel a lot less like a cash grab.

Ugh the controlling pets thing is soooo annoying because there are tons of things unrealistic about the game. If that’s the case we shouldn’t be able to control toddlers either

Unpopular opinion: I think it is actually a pretty big tiny pack with Aspirations, buy mode, gameplay animations and interactions etc. but it is clear they did no play testing. I mean none. (I hope this helps my critics.)

Not only that, but as a person who is allergic to dust I find it offensive my simself will grab the dust bunny and get it to his face. Because I know what would happen if I would do that in real life, and it's nothing short of unpleasant.

I've always found that the sims 4 was way too clean, my sims never really need to to do any cleaning unlike sims 2 where doing chores need to be done every other day or so. But no way I'm PAYING for a tiny gameplay feature that should just be base game at this point.

You know what the worst part of this is? They don’t hotfix this sh*te. I mean, The Sims team doesn’t even know what hotfixing is. They fix one bug at a time, so we have to wait for over a year to get the pack completely fixed (in the best scenario). It’s just sad that game changers don’t speak up about the complete ABSENCE of hotfixes.

This! The bugs and glitches were reported the day it was released and there should have been a hotfix right there and then for all of these bugs. Instead they think it's a big thing that they will fix ONE bug more than a week this was launched.

What about Star Wars, it only worked for a few weeks until everyone decided to stop wearing their costumes. GTW to work still has bugs dating almost 7 years ago, your dreaming if you think you only need to wait 1 year.

I know why, lol. Less animations to do. I recently animated a character sweeping the floor, and my guess is EA didn't wanna deal with anything remotely complex.

Brooms could have also went really well with off-the-grid lots or someone who likes a more old-fashioned cleaning :) Or if spellcasters could sweep the floor with the same brooms they fly with!

And not everyone will want a vacuum. My pets would freak out when I use a blender so I could just imagine using a vacuum. They could've done the same in game, some sim may have to only get broom because it makes their pets tense that would've been cool addition

I think vacuums should've come with laundry day! It would've been cool if we got a chore pack instead of laundry day. I don't hate laundry day, it's one of my favorite stuff packs, plus the furniture and CAS items are some of my favorite pieces, just would've been cool if we had tons of chores in one pack!

I seriously think the kits are leftover things they developed for other packs but didn't finish them in time to release. So this really might've been developed for Laundry Day. But apparently they didn't even finish them for release now.

My favorite vacuum is named Earl II! He does a great job moving around the room, picking up normal, non-sentient dust, and doesn't charge me five dollars per use! If If I ever have to pay five dollars for a vacuum, it'd better be the best vacuum in all of creation.

I never saw anything about Sims 4 that made me want to get it. When it first came out I watched a couple you-tubers play it. Some fun animations, still didn't want to play it. I've listened to all the negative stuff about the game and also things people consider positives. Still glad I never paid money for it. Yeah, I tend to watch these videos and I'm not really sure why. I respect Cindy's views on the game and it's failings but that's not the only reason I keep clicking on hers and on others. It's sort of like watching a train wreck. You don't want to watch but you can't look away.

I haven’t cared about the sims 4 since it released 😂I own the base game , and have since the week it came out and since then I knew it would disappoint me when my sim cheated on her husband multiple times I made him catch her , gave away all her wedlock babies , and she and him were STILL 100% in love 😂

If this was the sims 2 or 3..... 1. The sims would have broken the vacuum while trying to learn how to use it 2. The sims would have been electrocuted when they tried to plug it in 3. The Sim Would have kicked the vacuum for not working well.

I'm still baffled as to why people keep making excuses for the sims 4 being at this state is not acceptable at this point, it's crazy, I forgot the last pack i bought with my actual money it doesn't make the game any better and it's still shallow and buggy on top of it it's like they don't even playtest their own packs can't blame them cuz the game keeps getting more unplayable

You know if it was Sims 2 they’d have brand new animations where they pick up the vacuum and go around the room and then put it back. And emptying the bag wouldn’t be a reused animation, the Sims would have trouble opening or closing it or something and make a face 😂

The accumulation of money is so bad, you don’t even need to have your sims get jobs if they can just befriend the dust bunny’s to get valuables for you to sell and drop money every so often in you house funds, like what’s even the incentive to clean then when that’s the point of the pack?

I actually don't mind the vacuum teleporting in and out of your inventory because I'm so used to it that I don't even notice it. Sims 3 is my favorite sims game and it took that shortcut a lot too (and if I ever go back to the sims 2, the detailed animations are always just a pleasant surprise). For me, the standing in one place is more distracting. They just stand there vacuuming for so long and it's so weird that they don't move at all!

I was having a birthday party for my sim, spent time vacuuming JUST before the party started. Put the vacuum "away", and within an hour of the party starting - dust...dust bunnies...and the 'embarrassed' moodlet.

I really hate it how they made the dust bunnies in a cute way: befriend them, pet them and feed them, giving them small pet vibes. Just to destroy them with a vacuum later. Very dissapointing!

I watched a video where they made friends with the dust bunny and it said you can vacuum now and it won't effect it. So, you have to get your relationship with it up so it won't disappear. Note you can not have more than 3 on the lot for it to work. Too many dust bunnies seems to make it so you will not be able to befriend enough sooo there is that. I have to remember who video I saw this in ugh.

lol no. I am definitely not about to give my sims MORE chores. I can barely keep my RL apartment clean and vacuumed. This would just trigger my anxiety the same way laundry day did. Why can't I just be a RL spellcaster and cast scruberoo on everything :(

I know people have already mentioned the lack of a broom and dustpan, but I want to add to that. Where are the old school feather dusters? Where is the long extension to vacuum the ceiling fans? Why couldn't this become a full pack with a maid career? Imagine something like Get to Work where we go to Sims' houses to clean and fight dust bunnies. You can pick your uniform too! Do you want to dress like a realistic maid or a sexy maid? That would be different and add storytelling ideas. 💡

So glad you mentioned Zero! One of my favourite modders, their occult mods are a godsend. As to whether I'll get this kit, I think not. I pirate the game, meaning it would come at no monetary cost for me. However, knowing I'd need 15 mods to make a 5€ pack playable puts me off. I do like the idea of the dust system to add to the chores, however it should be active only if you purchase a vaccum, like the laundry system only starts if you have a hamper or washer/washing tub on the lot. And unlike the laundry pack, it does not add either BB or CAS that might convince me to pick it up and just ignore the gameplay system if I don't want to deal with it. If I'm feeling masochistic I might install it when I next update my game, but the general feeling is nah.They didn't even include non-electric way of dealing with the dust, apparently they never heard of brooms. Also it seems the disable option doesn't even work properly, so there's yet another thing they fucked up. Untested, rushed, moneygrabbing trash from EA. What else were we expecting.

Even if it worked perfectly I still wouldn’t want it, because they make everything for sims 4 so childish. Imagine if they just did normal vacuums! No dumb dust bunnies that look like they came from a preschool cartoon, no magical money making or expensive relics being found by dust bunnies. Dust build up is ridiculously wrong. Just thinking about how nice it would have been to have normal dust accumulation slowly over about a weeks time and vacuuming to clean it up. That’s how it should be, but instead we get the dust bunnies from Big Comfy Couch and a waterfall of money for no reason. I know their target audience isn’t long time simmers anymore and they’re aiming younger but this is like they were aiming for 8 year olds.

I like the vacuums more from The Sims 2 DS game just because you can actually WALK AROUND with it to each dust pile and possibly make a couple simoleons from it, way more balanced. Even the vacuums from The Sims 2 console version, the sim has an animation to put it on, you walk around with it, and there's an animation to put it away. I love the details

i just recently watched pixelade's video showing some of the animation development of paralives and the difference between that and the sims 4's is literally night and day. the video showed things like paras being able to sit on different height chairs/floor/counters, paras interacting with paras of different heights, etc, and it's clear that SO much time and effort is being put into the animation of that game. seeing how much effort a small indie company will put into their animations, then seeing a giant company like ea halfass the animations of the MAIN CORE feature of this kit (not to mention how they halfass and reuse the same three animations over and over for everything else) is BEYOND infuriating.

100% agree. I bought the pack not knowing about those stupid dust bunnies, and just like you im a sucker for realistic gameplay, so that bullshit of dust bunnies and filthy fiends just ruins my inmersion. Oh and also they give you money, so its just WORSE! Its so easy to earn money on the sims 4, why would a stupid dust bunny give me even more??

Sims 4 devs: nobody wants to do chores in the game, so we didn't put vacuuming into any of the suitable packs. me, playing Sims 3: you're going to make your bed and do your laundry before you travel to China for more tomb raiding, young lady!

Bust the Dust in Swedish isn't even completed. The vaccums shows up as debug objects because they aren't even named, when trying to use the vaccum the options show up blank, the buffs are blank, the aspirations as well and I strongly believe they just "forgot" to even make a translation in Swedish for the pack. It's busted and dusted.

If that was the Sims 2 he would have really physically grabbed the vacuum cleaner and even when emptying it he would have probably opened a flap or something before the bag was in his hand. I hate this new "store everything in the inventory" trend that came with Sims 3, I can understand a laptop but something like a car? Or in this case a vacuum cleaner? Who carries something like that around? Sorry for the bad English, It's not my native language and I'm still learning ^^ Edit: And when your Sims put the vacuum cleaner in their inventory a second household member can't use it! You need to manually place it on the floor before the other sim can use it and the whole circle repeats and that's just stupid...

@@YellOw139 You could have parking lots, or just park the car on the street since in Sims 3 the cars drive through others anyway, but that would not be a good solution so yeah...
