I really don't understand how Busta isn't ever mentioned in the GOAT status. Man has been consistently high level from early 90s. So underrated it's crazy
My favorite part of this video is when Q-Tip does that verse at 2:35 without breathing and him and Kanye stand there the whole time staring at the camera until Tip finishes. Then they both move again.
Busta Rhymes dun went in soo hard on this right here, Busta Rhymes is da GOAT! Im so glad he found a u t h e n t I c v i e w s to have his career take off
hell no. A Tribe Called Quest is known as one of the most influential rap groups of all time and they pioneered a new way to rap. Q Tip is one of the best rappers of all time. The only reason we don't hear about them as much is because times progress and things get left behind no matter how great they are. He'll always be known for what he did in hip hop. he is not underrated by any means, it's just younger generations (like me, I'm 17) have newer music to listen to while never digging for older stuff, which I'm glad to do because I found Q Tip that way. Not underrated by any means, just not played in the mainstream.
Ojeme Oghoro Thanks. Profanity and name calling get you nowhere when people are trying to have a discussion/debate, so it's best to practice not using it.
I mean both busta and tip have history... hes been (busta) on every one of tribes albums since low end theory sans beats rhymes and life and both phife and tips solo albums sans phifes first album and this song was on q tip and bustas mixtape
I had a dream I was rollerblading giving a chick a piggyback ride and woke up with this song in my head after I crossed the finish line. Halfway through the ride her mom called her like "I don't think you need to be hanging with him. Not while you live under my roof!" She was like "I'm moving out!"
yep, Q-Tip went in depth on how he creates all his verses and his songs, its within a really exceptional text they did where they talked with all the most revered lyricists- illrhymes.com
I am 48 and I put Midnight Mauraders on the table. My son who is 15 was going to talk about Tripe Called Quest. I told him about how I saw Nas, KRS1, Lords of the Underground, DJ Quick, 8 Ball and MJG, Run DMC, Busta Rymes, 2Pac and Biggie, LL Cool J, Wu Tang, Too short, Gangstar, EPMD, Queen Latifah, DMX, Kool Keith, OutKast, Ice Cube, Mac Dre, Tech N9yne, Vinnie Paz, Fugees, Rakim, Naughty By Natture and many more. Music to me was everything
Bruh this song 8 years old and its my firstbtime hearing this 🔥. They need to bring back rap city or music videos in general on cable networks. Surprised nobody talked about this track. QTip slayed
Q-Tip is one of the Greats to me. Those verses, though..his intro’ and outro’s around hooks and rhythmic-tonal-harmony verses are seamless and timeless, in one. Respects to the original LOTNS goat, too. They still here gracing us with it *sips to that 🙏🏽🎼🎤
No one ever talks about a rappers "voice", it's always their lyricism and flow most of the time but Q-Tip has THE BEST voice in Hip Hop. I can listen to him rhyme all day, in fact I think I'm going to listen to ATCQ right now.
I've been thinking exactly the same thing! Of course lyrics and flow are very important but sometimes there are some rapper's voices that disturb me a bit... anyway, Q-Tip's is definitely my favourite! And yes, I'm going to listen to ATCQ tonite too
I think voice is the most important element. It why people accept poor lyricism sometimes. The voice or how it is engineered is palatable. Also, voice is where you can be distinguished the most as a brand. So much that when 2 artists have a similar voice one inevitably must perish in favour of the next.
For me, this is rap. Putting sentences together. They might make you dance bu they might start a revolutin.. The MC controls where it goes. Busta I love you
Revolution? Hip hop has done nothing for the black community. Ghettos are still the same. Hell the community is worse than ever. If u rhymed about being father figures rather than chasing money and f'king women then maybe u might get a revolution lol
…..been playing this non-stop when I’m at the gym on my ‘Kanye Workout Plan’…guy next to me asked…whatchu listening to?…gave him a airpod…he looked at me…after listening…he handed me the aux…dude was the owner…had the whole place knocking…it was a vibe.❤😊
🔥#QTip @2:34🔥: "Incredibly we do it, and it resonates the music I tune it, RU-vid it, it could never ever be refuted 👉🏾It's gnarly for niggas and naughty for ninas Bitches and ballerinas Ballers and in-betweeners Blatant non-believers and over-achievers Kicking it in Pele Adidas Drinking gallons and liters All of you must reconcile a leader She's begging to eat us, and her man's attitude defeated But never a scandal Because me and Bus we're prone to handle it, we're gentlemen!"🔥 - I wanna THANK💥💥💥 *YOU!* 💯
For all of you ignorant as people who keep complaining about why wayne and kanye are in the song, Kanye West runs the label GOOD music which Q-Tip is signed to and Wayne runs the label Young Money. Both of the bosses (Wayne and Kanye) on this label are just introducing their own artsits. Stop complaining! I bet you guys have only heard Wayne and Kanyes music 2008+. Kanye has released classics such as "College Dropout" and Late Registration and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Lil Wayne has great music on the carter II, Dedication II, Da Drought 3, Tha Carter III. Stop hating and listen to what you enjoy instead of listening to things you don't.
To the people still wondering why Wayne and Kanye were on this then here is the reason: Busta rhymes is signed to Lil' Wayne. Q-Tip is signed to Kanye West. They both are in this to "re-introducing" these two legends to us. Now stop saying Wayne and Kanye ruined the song lol..they barely spoke. and I honestly think the idea is actually smart and awesome.
Set things straight! That's showing MAD Love where it's long overdue. To be Unified, Bringin' any & all who paid their own dues, made their marks, & know how to keep flippin' gifts! Loving that, Peace!
But why? They didn’t do anything innovative with the music, it’s just a straight ripped sample. Besides the incredible flow from both BUSTA and Q, it’s a pretty pedestrian track, production wise.
