[120] There are enemy troops everywhere and we are stuck with just our eggs, rocks and trusty boosts! ▬▬▬▬▬ Twitter: / angory_tom Patreon: / angorytom Twitch: / angorytom Reddit: / yogscast Merch: store.yogscast...
give the enemy a lot of snipers but no ARG, creep gets no spores, and limited creep generation. airsacs just build up until they output more than they snipers can kill
There is one. It's called LPAC Surrounded, and the links between islands are so narrow that air sacs are the only way to get creep into enemy territory.
That's essentially how Space Invaders worked. The game couldn't run correctly with all of the enemies on screen, so it slowed down. As you killed them off, the game would get faster and faster until it finally ran at the correct speed.
Not quite the same but that reminds me of Evoland - it starts as a proper retro rpg and you unlock progressively more modern mechanics/graphics over the course of the game
@@mannalosj2563 do you think this is a good game to introduce someone to video games to give them a rundown of a lot of concepts quickly? Or is it more of a meta commentary for someone with a lot of experience with these mechanics
8:00 lag switch eggs and rocks rip 10:20 "doesnt look too hard to conquer" *shows AC depth* "oh god" 10:41 'we won - well i guess" 11:34 get a lot of eggs even in the cubby for some reason - aaannnddd 810 every .5 sec. shouldve done it from the start huh
Tom: *drops one upgrade into an Air Sac Cauldron* "These things are useless!" Also Tom: *drops 20 upgrades into a weak emitter* "Now we're moving along!"
11:54 its been a while since i played cw4, but im pretty sure, at least normally, you can place eggs anywhere, but unless they're within a certain range of actual creep they're just sorta like "ghosts" waiting until creep gets close enough for them to activate. same with rocks

A better question is, why are air sacs so terribly underpowered? They wallow with the speed of a drugged sloth, and target randomly, so most of the time they're trying to overfly the whole humie base... at the speed of a drugged sloth. Imagine if they moved at, say, 5x the speed, and would just come up to the edge of missile range, fire bombs at your front line, then run away.
@@erikkeever3504 Air sacs are actually incredibly overpowered, it's just their base spawn rates are rather low. They always manage to throw their orbs before dying. ALWAYS. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Also, it takes ridiculous amounts of energy to actually snipe all of those orbs before they land. In a normal game, a wave of air sacs will ALWAYS cause a deficit, assuming enough are spawned at once.
@@erikkeever3504 They aren't suited to spawning near the front lines. If there's enough distance, they'll build up some orbs to throw by the time they start getting shot at.
Oh my godness! Thanks to you i started playing CW 4 and Hell Yeah i love it and now you are coming around the corner with that map (was the secound PAC map ever for me) and yeah had some hard times but was fun. Now i want to know how long it´ll take you to finish this map. Thanks for the great content keep it up it just makes me smile every time. 😁
How come after seeing the air sac episode and then watching the Warhammer stream I just thought of the air sacs being the vodgoblins and their butt pearls? Lol it's just future version instead of past fantasy version lol
so, im 5 min in and the clue i dotn think you are seeing is that the shields are flickering, that means they are short on ARG if you dont destroy the shields and then go air heavy their air defence will struggle. admittedly they have enough of an AC carpet that it wouldnt do much but its worth paying attention to.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 962 (There we are, back on track, until next Sunday) OOO a fun map indeed XD he he I agree, the staircase is a nice touch
I cranked up the speed to 1.5 since I only had so much time to watch this. I must say, Tom sounds barely higher pitch, but also like he just drank 100 coffees spiked with speed.
That megafortress had way too much defense against the cool 5ools the creep gets, and way WAY too little defense against just a massive creep wave, so while the first half of the map is cool, for the second half you just sit and wait for an inevitable victory while all your airsacs, vlobs and spores gets instantly shot down
Oh wow, you are Danu who's always in the leaderboards in Chronom mode! For some reason I always noticed your name (and thought of you as a rival ahaha). Subbed!
So what kind of system do you have? I didn't play a lot of maps because of how laggy they are. I'm guessing the game is more CPU dependent, and while I don't have a state of the art CPU, it's not like it's a Core2Duo system or anything.
I do like the Creeper World videos, but I always think that the egg strat is cheating. Also, the egg sacs are pretty cool, but the custom maps cripple them by adding so many missiles/snipers.
It's a tough arms race with yourself. If you don't put skimmers or blobs on the map, then people are sad and won't play it. But once you do, you HAVE to put strong sniper defense or else they just upgrade the blob/skimmer factory a couple times and steamroll.
Have you ever tried Rise To Ruins? I've been hooked on it this last week absolute time vampire. Colony builder/ simulation god game with rim world murder corridors vs a slow creep style adversary on every map. and it doesn't run like shit
I feel like I know what Tom sounds like talking when he is three sheets to the wind, now. Edit: My mistake. I had it on half speed, thanks to the Spiffing Brit's latest video.
