ZeVio74 in most cases body cams are only activated by the removal of a fire arm from its holster. So maybe however I severely doubt it :) hope this helped.
2010 Supreme Court said officers of the court may lie to obtain a conviction. Officer safety is also @ play. In as much, it could place an officer's life in jeopardy whilst operating in undercover investigations. In short (too late) police officers are professional liars.
@SAMURAI JACK BLM idiots aren't protesting against racism, they're anarchists. They're RIOTING against the GOVERNMENT, to destroy whatever ORDER is LEFT in this country.
SAMURAI JACK protest is a very interesting word nowadays I think the term promote violence could replace it when describing a few choice so called activists
This officer seems so sweet and genuine. Its a bit hard to imagine him infiltrating some really rough crime organization. But I'm glad that there are officers like him and that he made it through the 4 years of undercover intact. Great interview.
1. Were you free to ask any question you wanted or did you have to get your questions approved? 2. Can you interview other professionals? Attorney’s, fire fighters, EMTs? This was so interesting. 3. I love your channel! Thank you for your hard work ❤️
You can see that the officer is uncomfortable with myth 3 and 4. On those questions he touched his neck. So these were maybe some kind of filtered but not as much as to make it an easy walkthrough for him.
I live in Los Angeles, and over the years the LAPD or Sheriffs have gotten bad reps like many other police departments in the nation. We need more videos like this, to show and educate citizens and to ultimately show officers in a good light.
Yeah, who needs police reform or accountability? The real solution is some random RU-vid videos. Too bad those organizing the MacArthur Park rallies didn't have a RU-vid channel, I guess.
+William Johnson Oh dear, honey. Which fairy tale land did you just arrive from? Go do a little reading up on the illustrious history of the LAPD and get back to me, mm-kay?
My wife is a police officer of 12 years now. This is great, but what was even greater is seeing the positive comment section. I came here expecting to see a bunch of FTP and ACAB type comments. I made me smile to see the only 'negative' ones were people ragging on that gap...but...both myself and the wife were laughing about that gap cracking jokes, I'm sure many in LAPD have joked with the officer about that gap
Thays sooo different cause theres full time firefighters but in canada and the us %80 of firefighters are volunteers. Therefore each department varys widely. I like the idea but get a volunteer on there cause they represent a larger portion of firefighters.
I love this, you could do Doctor Myths, Firefighter Myths, Magician Myths, Politician Myths, Actor/Actress Myths, RU-vidr Myths, & Twitch Streamer Myths, Lawyer Myths, Tattoo Artist Myths...i could go on forever. But great job Matt!
Of course, I love everything that you do!! My daddy was a cop 👮 and I lost him two years ago after he retired. He adored donuts 🍩 and would go in the middle of the night, the owners would leave the black door open for them and they got them hot out of the fryer! I worked at Dairy Queen in High School and he’d come through the drive-up with his cruiser to get an ice cream 🍦 cone. Once I asked what he would do if he got a call and he said, “lose it out the window.” He was a great person, awesome dad and exceptional police 🚔 officer. Thanks for doing this piece!!
Most are. You only hear about the bad ones on the news. 1000 Police Officers could have saved a life that day, and 1 Police Officer attacked someone he shouldn't have and you only hear about the 1. There's zero love for the other 1000.
Every police officer I met, granted not many, seem like kind people. Just the other day when at work two police officers stopped by for lunch, and they were very polite and nice.
He reminds me of Zac Efron minus the cauliflower ears and gap. He is a really handsome man. Thank you Officer Thomas for your service. I plan on joining the LASD soon.
I can tell you from fact, there are quotas for tickets in police departments across the country. You are talking to one department, where they do not do this, but it does happen.
I absolutely LOVED this video! Please make more like this. Another one with Officer Ben would be a great idea in the future. He was a very great interviewee and it helps keep up good relations with the public! Excellent work! 👍
I'm sure we will see more, this was a great start. +Vincent what about myths about kidney failure, dialysis treatment and transplantation, I'll do it, I'm a bit of an expert :)
OMG I just had that convo with my mom not too long ago. She thought cops had to say they were cops if asked. I said then undercover cops would be meaningless. She didn't have a response lol.
I like this type of video very much! I am a Paramedic and a video like this with Fire and EMS would be amazing. There are a lot of myths people believe about us as well that I run into on a daily basis at work. Love your vids been a subscriber for years!!
Lol. This guy would place you in cuffs and drive you to the station and that is the last time youd ever see him. The charges for the crime you are being arrested for would still stick. I don't think you thought that comment through at all
I love how much more police are getting involved in RU-vid in one way or another. Simply seeing police officers on videos being themselves has made me go from being nervous around officers to being so happy to be interacting with these awesome men and women.
MatthewSantoro Oh, and also, you ever by Leesburg,VA, I'll give you some donuts AND ice cream. I'm the ice cream man from both Dunkin Donuts/ Baskin Robbins and Dairy Queen
I have several close friends and family members who are cops and Ive also asked them many of the same questions. Officer Thompson gave some of the most comprehensive and genuine responses Ive ever heard! Well done guys! *thumbs up*
Fascinating. Since you [posted that video about feeling you wanted to regain the creativity you had when you first started youtube, you've taken that regained enthusiasm, run with it and blown it out of the water! Your videos are so interesting and I loved this one too :)
This was really nice! It's understandable that people would be angry with police in general given all of the horrific events that have happened lately, but it's important to remember that there are good police officers out there. Not to overshadow what's happened or sweep it under the rug in any way, but just for peace of mind, to know that in general, the public is still in good hands. A majority of officers are there because they want to serve and protect, and if you lose sight of that fact, the world becomes a bleaker, darker place.
Well cops are people. They can be great and they can be terrible. Its bound to happen that you get some not so great cops. Its best to never generalize on either extremity.
I’m just going to assume he lost his tooth being straight up awesome. One faithful night he was on call and a sniper grazed that single tooth and hit nothing else. He jumped into action and took out the sniper from 100 yards with one shot from his service pistol.
And where do most of these " training courses" take place??? In a college!!!! Soooooo,,, to be an actual cop you DO need college!!!!! This "cop" is skirting the truth on alot of these questions!!!!!
Notice that too.. Reminds me of Michael Strahan but this cop seems real nice guy so shall not make fun of him.. If he was a prick than its fair game lol
That's because the primary was to protect and serve. Then people got butt hurt about criminals getting shot. Then everyone want us to wear badge cams and then that exposed more criminals and now everyone wants us to get rid of them. So, yes, RIGHT NOW it's one of the main core values. As people change so do the values. I hope that enlightened you a bit.
That's right! School dem little untispirals! I love police, for they are our Shield against those that are trying to hurt us. They take the pain so we don't have to. Mad respect!
For myth #2 here in Arizona some police do have super chargers on their car. We don’t have too much traffic. So police don’t put anyone in danger or at least not as often as you would in LA on the road. Love the video and positivity btw 👍🏼.
LAPD only has normal cop cars like the Crown Vic and Ford Explorer and Ford Taurus. On the other hand Illinois State Police has several unmarked vehicles like Camaros , Monte Carlos, and Mustang GT's mainly to combat speeding and aggressive driving.
@@two-face1041 The only 'exotic' car the LAPD has is a Lamborghini Gallardo and it's not even a patrol/force use car. It's a car they got from charity and it's just a car for show.
@@magnoliawaters4983 ALRIGHT!! MHA is one of the best shows out there right now, and I am so GLAD to find other people who enjoy it just as much as I do. 🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆👍👍👍👍 you guys are totally AWESOME!!!
Matt: Yeah, do you have an officer who would be comfortable doing an interview for my RU-vid channel? LAPD: How many people are going to see this? Matt: Probably a few million. LAPD: Yeah we got a guy. *puts down receiver* Hey! Officer Whistles!
Haha... I loved the officer's attempt to be PC with the rivalry question. OF COURSE there is a rivalry between law enforcement officers and the fire department. BUT, it is not a hostile rivalry. Pretty much, it's the same type of rivalry that you see in the military, with each branch of the military messing with, talking about, and having fun with the other branches. It is just a kind of fun sibling rivalry. When it's time to get to work, we all come together as a team and fulfill our respective duties in order to accomplish the mission. For example, don't put Army infantrymen in the same bar with Marine riflemen or you may see some interesting "tests of bravado," but when it comes to closing with and destroying the enemy, I've got their backs and they've got mine. Fun stuff.
All cops want to be firemen. They're always parking their cars in the way of our trucks. They race to the scene so they can... stand around. I rolled up on a brush fire, flames 100 foot high*, and there's a deputy spraying the ditch with the extinguisher from his trunk... *maybe a little hyperbole
