Just found your channel today! I’ve been a true crime junkie for years. Here lately I’ve felt burn out because they’re all the same these days, covering same stories in the same way. Then I find this and it’s like a breath of fresh air and I’m alive again ! Thanks my man ✌🏻❤

I went to Woodlawn Cemetery last year and saw an incredible display of black onyx stones. I looked closer and it explains that it is the plot area for "The Family". I also looked at the dates on the graves, none of them were over the age of 22-25 years old, all young black boys. I knew I had stumbled on a very prominent gang cemetery site. It was really scary in a sense because it showed how serious the game in Detroit was.

I grew up with The JBM in West Philly. It's crazy how stupid and smart these young brothas are at the same time. None of these guys are heroes, good people or changed by jail. They're predators and f'd up. They're destroyers of their own people. But I always think, what if they saw other opportunities? These little street CEOs would have been captains of industry, business leaders and real heroes. I got out before I got in too deep. I knew there were other ways. We (Black People) need to start teaching our kids early that opportunity is out there, but you have to go out there and earn it. Get away from your 8 square block prison and open your minds. Damn!

Raymond Peoples is my niece Shahita’s dad, he absolutely loved my mom. I remember when he would pull up in his 1940 classic car and mom would lecture him about his life and he responded respectfully because she was his elder. I remember how hard she took his death and his daughter was at home with us when he was murdered. We knew Butch, Spaghetti Eddie and Fancy Gaines on a personal level, we never saw the street side of these guys. Born and raised in Detroit and life back then made us tough but we still had so much fun. Butch sold a lot of his books at the Police station believe it or not. Mom still has his book. RIH Raymond.

OK PEOPLE REAL TALK!!.. I lived in Detroit back in the mid to late 80'S I remember all of this.. and back then Detroit was the murder capital three years in a row. and all the drug dealers junkies and corrupt politicians ran the city of Detroit into the GROUND!!..if you ride through certain neighborhoods today it looks worse than a third world country.. when you have generation after generation of a society of people with a we don't give a damn attitude and a desensitized mentality, this among other things is what happens.. back then it was like if one drug gang fell,. two more rose up.. and it was real sad due to the fact back then a lot of young kids gravitated towards the drug dealers and Street people... if you got good grades, spoke proper English you were looked at different as lame, a token, or oh he wants to be white.. well I guess my token ass turned out pretty good 👍 because I didn't do drugs or sell them... as I got older I traveled and went to other major cities, and one thing always stuck in my head THE WORLD IS A GHETTO!!!..OH LORD PLEASE HELP US FIND A WAY OUT OF ALL THIS MADNESS AND DARKNESS..EVEN SATAN IS AFRAID!!

I feel 50 not only wanted BMF but Y.B.I. too but couldn’t do a whole YBI series in Michigan due to it being no incentives to film here, so he took some of their concept and put it into Power Book 4… just a thought.
