When they realized that he was a great young boxer, the OG’s should’ve never gave him a pack to sell. I hate how we let these young kids get mixed up in some bullshit.

@@mykemarley true, but the hustlers could’ve bankrolled the young man and helped him stay clear of the block. All the money they phuck off on bullshit? Just another black bum that squandered a legit opportunity to make it out the hood..all the effort and time he put in the drug game..he couldn't put forth that same energy to something positive..I dont want here about what he gave..he took so much from the said community he grew up in..this is what's wrong with black people in the hood ..crabs on a barrel mentality

We all sat around in the eighties as lives and families were destroyed in a blink of an eye with very little concern of the lasting damage still felt this very moment. You name the city, hood, or wherever it's still the same. childhood friends become bitter enemies, disregard for humanity, and whole neighborhoods devalued only to be bought for mere pennies by outsiders. Go visit any one of these guys still rotting away in some far-off lock up hoping to see the light of day and they will all say it...IT JUST WASN'T WORTH IT!!!!!

I like the Skinny Joey reference, I remember when I lived in Philly this old head put me on JMB, I lived up by Temple right past 18 and Cecil B. Then I worked at this restaurant and Joey used to go there before he went to Florida full time at that time. Anyways they always said Joey was one of if not the only Mafia dude who showed genuine respect for and partnership with the brothers in Philly. You know how most of the Mafia shit is, they don’t really want nothing to do with black folk. But Joey was built different if the stories are to be believed, great video salute brother 💯

So many young people in our communities get trap off in the hood life, thank you young brother for sharing this narratives of brutal street life, I am a old school Historian that studies History of our people including African, and Latin- Americas History too. Great Documentary.. Anytime I hear your voice, I know it's worth a listen. This reminds me of the late 80's crack era in my midsize city and my little time wayyy back then that I personally put in as a lost young man trying to find my way out of the hood...

old heads in Baltimore was drinking a form of lean as well. Any city that was blanketed by Heroin usually had a similar drink. dortens and syrup was an 80s choice in Baltimore
@cvgodd1432
@cvgodd1432 2 года назад
@@1300mikehoward facts white boys used to keep a pint back in the 90s in Boston. Usually stolen from their grandmother’s medicine cabinet. They kept it around so they wouldn’t get that sick when they had no money for dope or there was a drought. They would walk around sipping out the bottle lol when they found their dope they save the rest for a rainy day. It never got popular out here, even today lean is not big out here. Too expensive and the high is weak, they would rather pop a 30 or half a 30 if you got no tolerance. I drank some before and my face looked swollen the next day.

Without saying too much , I will say that a couple of people mentioned on the original bucky davis documentary are a couple of my little cousins fathers . They did like 25 years and lost a lot of time . I was too young at the time to fully grasp what was going on . All i knew was my peoples had money when I used to babysit . I think I might have seen bucky maybe once or twice over my cousins house back in the day , I was too young too remember. I will say this , they were some fly dudes back in the day but its definitely nothing to glorify .

Everybody keeps saying he wasted his boxing talent, which means yall don't understand the time-line of his life, Buck didn't stop boxing to hustle,Buck was a boxer, most of the young bucks up the Avenue were gamblers,Buck made it to the Olympic trials, this is where he was told he was to short to make an impact or be taken seriously as a boxer,I had a conversation all night with my Lil Homie in our pool room, being a big Homie, Buck let his guard down, he was extremely hurt at his dream hitting that brick wall, Buck is not unlike many young blk males in the city, (child is born with a heart of Gold, ways of the world make his heart turn cold) Buck had to adjust to his environment, but let the record reflect, Buck was no ordinary cat, you would have to have seen him in a different element to understand.

Wow! I can't see them turning a great boxer away because he was too little. That's crazy. If he was putting in the work and winning, that's dumb on their part! Sugar Ray Leonard was small, and so is Floyd Mayweather. That makes no since to me
