I love how the kid was able to recognize the brand on Butch and Sundance's pony, then notify the local police who were able to notify a large group of Bolivian soldiers, who were able to travel to that location and surround and engage Butch and Sundance before they even started eating. Special warfare operators of any kind would be impressed with that kind of intel work and efficiency.

The whole final fort attack scene of Glory is like that. But you see the dead bodies later after their charge. So does "it's a suicide mission" count as this ending, or is that another trope in itself?

I came here for George Roy Hill and then crashed into "The cabin in the woods", also known as the "release all monsters in the premises button movie", like if "Independence Day" and "Scooby Doo" have a child. (I’m just kidding but in fact I'm in the middle of a crusade to destroy that movie.) In a serious note, what I always think as a “not consummated Bolivian army ending” is the “almost end” of the “Cloverfield lane”. About the “Italian job” I prefer the original end of the script, with the gang arriving in Switzerland and Mr. Bridger telling them that he made a deal with the mafia - and they need to take the gold back to Italy. There is even a diagram on the internet solving the equation bus/gold/cliff.
