Started October 1, 2019 230 lbs. Now in two days it will be 1 year at 144 lbs. My A1C was 6.7 now it's 4.7. I just turned 60 last month and feel and look 30 now. Thanks Bob you are the first one that convinced me to try the Keto way. I deeply thank you. You have changed my life with the beloved a few other you tubers. I just made my first mayo yesterday for the first time to make ranch for my taco salad. My next challenge is ketchup and barbeque sauce. I drink a spinach smoothie almost every day with strawberries, ACV and lemon juice.

am a 64 year old female from the UK who has been either dieting or overweight for most of my adult life. I recently realised that I have been addicted to carbs and this was life changing. I am so glad to have found you on you tube as I have learned so much. The weight has started to come off (for the last time) and I know it will take a time to unlearn all I've been taught regarding "healthy eating". Keep up the good work Bob you're a STAR !

Thanks Butter Bob. I’m a truck driver and haven’t been able to eat salad because of all the sugar and toxic oils they put in Walmart dressings. I was able to make this on my truck and it was the perfect amount to fill a 2 pint mason jar I keep in my fridge. Now I can pick up salads they sell at truck stops and pour this healthy dressing on it! 🙂

For those having trouble with the mayo thickening, one of the biggest tips I can suggest is that you let the egg sit out for a couple of hours and become room temperature. This seems to be a HUGE plus! ;-)

I fried up a whole batch of skin on chicken drumsticks in good old fashioned lard last night. I put some smoked sea salt and a good sized dose of garlic and herb powder right into the pot of lard and let the chicken fry right in that. It came out AMAZING!! And that was my one and only meal of the day (along with a few slices of mozzarella cheese). I ate 4 drumsticks and felt great. And people would rather eat a sugar glazed donut?! Good lord..

Home made recipes from healthy ingredients really are easy once people get over the "learning curve" - People will be surprised at how much fresher and great their food and condiments are when they learn to make and season their own at home - as someone with Celiac and supporting the use of natural foods for over forty - five years - -for personal, loved ones and patient health - I love how you share with and motivate people to take charge of their diet and health! thank you so much for all you do. I've been watching all your videos and researching for myself the fasting and insulin resistance videos for about a month now. I thought it was just for me. Then a young man where I work, who has diabetes type 1, went to the dr the other day and he has gained over 100 pounds in the last year due to a leg injury that has caused him to have to have 2 surgeries to try to correct the problem. All this limited his mobility. He was really distressed and the dr was very concerned about his sugar and the weight gain. He didn't know where to start or what to do and everyone was giving him advise on what he should do. He just became confused and overwhelmed. I let it die down a bit but I knew the first chance I got I was going to introduce him to "Butter Bob". I was going to start this life style myself anyway and here was my chance to help someone else. We talked about it this past Friday and tomorrow begins our new journey. I have taken my measurements and weight jeeezzzeee lol, and have started it out with a 24 hour fast starting tomorrow. I can't express to you how much I appreciate you taking your time to help folk like me and my co-worker. It tickled me too to know you are from Tennessee I'm just a little away from you in Kingsport TN. Thank you again for all you do! We will see where this journey takes us. That ranch dressing will be a staple at my house now. Delish!

if you blend all the ingredients in a mason jar not much wider then your immersion blender, it thickens up very well. Skip all the extra bowls. That is with just the old school whole egg and olive oil. Can't wait to try the extra seasonings and the Ranch version. Yum!

I have so much trouble with the standard egg and drizzle method for mayo, that I have given up on it. I want to try this method with my bacon grease!

Hi Bob I just started watching your videos I'm hooked! Can't wait to start my diet in a few weeks! One question that might seem stupid, so the mayo and Ranch are both carb free? Is that right?
@rustybeth99
@rustybeth99 7 лет назад
Not carb free, but with the serving size of about 2T you'll get maybe 1/2 carb from the dairy ingredients and garlic (depending on how much you use).

I've been wanting to make my own mayo for years. Thank you for the info about the industrial oils ... Great job !!! Oh yeah ,cucumbers. Slice a cucumber and and to a pitcher of water to make cucumber water let sit it for an hour in the fridge. So refreshing on a warm day.

Mr. Bob, did you know that the brine or juice from homemade sauerkraut, whey from yogurt(live cultures) or something like that will make the mayonnaise last longer?
@paulaw418
@paulaw418 4 года назад
Also if you use probiotic capsules take one, open it & sprinkle over the top of your prepared mayo. Let sit on counter for about an hour to "activate" stir it in & let sit another hour before refrigerating.

Butter Bob you are a lifesaver. I have watched about at least 6 of your videos today. I have been procrastinating about doing a LCHF diet due to the "purists". I will now keep it simple. Thanks for all that you do.

Thanks for making this video. While I have been successful doing low carb for over a year now, and I have lost a considerable amount of weight, I have not been too good about getting these industrial seed oils out of my life. A large part of this has to do with the fact that I eat out for almost every meal, and most restaurants use these very same industrial seed oils. I guess it is high time that I start cooking at home, where I have more control over the types of oil that go into my food.

marysimon While that is a good suggestion, when it comes to eating salads in restaurants, it still does not allow me to avoid the corn and canola oil that many of these restaurants use to cook the meats and the cooked vegetables that I eat. Really, the only solution for me, when it comes to controlling that, is to cook my meals at home.

+Drake Santiago I came to the same decision. Oils nearly killed me ! My health is so much better now just by giving up wheat and vegetable oils. Butter, lard, coconut oil and a bit of avocado oil are all I use and I use them sparingly! When I quit eating out so much I found I had more money to spend on organic food. I am about 90% or more organic now! It's still cheaper than restaurants. I try to look for Thai restaurants that sometimes use only coconut oil or milk to cook. Some small Mexican places only use lard, you have to ask and hope they tell the truth. ☺

Michael Denny Thanks for the input. I agree that frequenting restaurants puts quite a drain on your wallet. I guess its the convenience of it that makes it so attractive.

When I make dressing I keep a couple of cleaned pieces of lettuce or other vegetables. I use them to taste my dressing. I think it helps me get the salt right.

Great Job Bob! I am currently reading "The Big Fat Surprise", by Nina Teicholz. Just finished the Chapter that talks about how BAD Vegetable Oils are for you, ESPECIALLY when used for Frying, because they break down and become unstable at high temperature, releasing all sorts of nasty chemicals.
@ButterBobBriggs

They are definitely bad and even worse they make your food taste bad. Lard, tallow and other natural fats, make food delicious and healthy.

I live in the UK. I took my strongest specs to the supermarkets, and read the back of the olive oil bottles. You were right. Made from Rapeseed oil blended with Olive oil, or mixes of oils with olive oil. Lying, cheating bast*rds!
