Ok, I was inspired to get off my couch and make these delicious cookies - and the recipe did not disappoint ! I did add just a little almond extract, because why not? Great with tea !
when creaming butter and sugar, i cream until the mixture is light and fluffy. when adding the other wet ingredients, i mix until it's as well-combined as can be. when adding the dry ingredients, i mix until JUST combined, never overmixing or else the dough will become tough. if adding other things like nuts or chocolate chips at the very end, i usually don't need more than 5-10 seconds on low for those add-ins to be well-distributed throughout the dough. hard to dictate minutes because not all stand mixers use the same speeds, and because scraping down the bowl affects how you're combining the ingredients. judging by appearance will make the process a lot more intuitive with experience :)
This was a delicious recipe and so easy to make. My 12 year old daughter assited me making them, she enjoyed this recipe.bwill definitely make them again!

Gentle request for you: please also make recipes that require smaller proportions like for example 1/2 cup flour for 9 cookies etc. I'm a new baker and don't want to use larger measurements like 2 cups flour for each new dish lest I mess it up. Hoping you could start a tiny baking recipe series? ♥️ Lots of love ♥️
Just half the recipe. Calls for two cup of flour: use one. Need 1/2 teaspoon salt? Half it by 1/4. If conversions are confusing for you google a simple conversion chart.

John is so entertaining to watch and I have watched all his videos, which I also find very therapeutic of his presenting skills whilst baking. He is just as good as Nigella Lawson celebrity TV chef in the UK. I shall be making these butter cookies, because they look delicious and I too enjoy home baking.
