I'm currently growing my own butternut squash and it looks like I'm going to have at least 10-15 to harvest soon -- more are still in their infant stages and will be ready to pick at a later time. Anyway, I've roasted and made the soup already. Gonna try these other three too!
Hey, i got my butternut squashes today and they are green in Colour, like zucchinis green colour. Can you kindly help me with this. Idk if i should not use them or are they not actually "butternut squash ".
1 butternut squash peeled and chopped largely, 1 large onion chopped largely, 2 gloves of garlic, a thumb of ginger, 1 tsp of cumin, 1 tsp of coriander seeds, 1 chili (mild), olive oil, salt and pepper. Chuck it all on a roasting tray at 190c fan for an hour. Throw it in a blender, add a bit of chicken stock and coconut milk until your desired consistency is met. Best soup ever.

I just discovered butternut swish today they had a sale at Wal-Mart . Just finished squash noodles and then as french fries. I'm sold, both delicious. Can't wait to get it again
Dear Tasty Support - I followed the recipe link and under Recipes in this video, there are only 3 links (the Stuffed Butternut Squash is missing). I was able to find the Stuffed Butternut Squash recipe eventually, but it is not printing out correctly. Hope the Tasty Team can look into this!
the average viewer is also obsessed with cheese. Americans in particular eat way too much of it. But Tasty is just appealing to the most people they can. Remember, this is RU-vid; views=money.
Can you cook the butternut squash like you are cooking a pumpkin? Remove seed & skin, Cut in chunks, pan fried it a pan with some oil, add soya sauce & a bit of sugar/ honey, cover pan with lid and let it simmer on low heat till soft. Add a bit of water if needed.
ummmmm. YES. Thank you! yes yes. THIS is how all recipe videos should be. easy and to the point with the ingredients and the steps and no excess junk. get so sick of a 10 minute video that's only 1 minute of directions and 9 minutes of the cook blabbing and blabbing about irrelevant crap.
anyone know if eat banana, you dont need to eat squash on same day because it maybe covers the daily potassium? or if i eat squash will i still get benefits or if eating broccolo, want to know if i still get the benefits if i eat all 3 everyday or if i should just 1 of em per day
It tastes like a pumpkin only a bit sweeter, not as sweet as sweet potato but same consistency, very tasty, if you're going to try it for the first time, have a bowl of butternut squash soup which is served in a lot of places during winter.
Is something wrong? Are there any issues in the company? You guys constantly post videos that are all premade and collab them into one video, I remember being so happy seeing new videos, original new videos that aren't reposted or collabed to make a "4 way video". Sad life, running out of ideas.. :-(
Can anyone help? I tried boiling a small chunk of a butternut squash the other day for my toddler and I got dinner. It was awful- it tasted the same way cooking pot butter smells. Almost like decaying plant matter. Asked my pro-chef friend, he said it was weird, that they’re okay to boil- I must have just got a bad one. Color and firmness were more than acceptable though, and I just cooked it until a knife nicely penetrated the flesh. No overcooking or undercooking as far as I can see. Any advice? I’d hate to throw away 7/8ths of a perfectly usable food item unless it’s totally necessary. It was the top part I used though, so I don’t know if being closer to the stem would affect the taste
I strongly recommend that the rice is cooked separately, according to its package instructions; otherwise, you run the risk of having undercooked rice.
Have never seen butternut squash in Pakistan... Being here for over 7 years now.. Looked for it but to no avail. If anyone knows where I could find it, I'll highly appreciate.
