I agree with you Chris, nothing wrong with negotiating. Further to your point, if you don’t like the offer. Just say no. That guy must have been a real turd. One of the many reasons I like watching your videos is because you don’t complain, have a great attitude and I never hear you dog on anyone! Keep doing what you are doing and karma will catch that guy! All the best!
I had an ATC 90 growing up on a farm around '69 to '74. What memories. Mine had the balloon tires and would float. It was the very first 3-wheeler and it had dual range trans.
In the 80's I did an ATV training day at a Honda dealership in Indiana. I was on a little 110. The first hill I went up, my foot dropped off the peg, and got pulled under the tire. I didn't fall off, and some how managed to pull my leg back out. It hurt like a son of a, and the back of my legs was a bit chewed up. But I kept it a secret from dad. For fear that he wouldn't let me ride my dirt bike when I got home.
Watching you guys ride them reminds me of me and my cousin on our family’s farm in Richland town Pa , all we did was ride our three wheelers in the 80s , then the quad was introduced
I had a 1984 125M growing up and absolutely loved it. Thankfully I didn’t kill myself but there really wasn’t anywhere that 3 wheeler didn’t go. It was great seeing that picture of the 125M in this video. Good stuff.
i have three brothers all very close in age ,my father really was like one of us ,i mean we all did things together outback Australia ,Arie my older brother got a ol YZ400 maybe a 76 model and got it runnin and all hell broke loose,we all ended up with dirt bikes and our ol man wanted to be part of it but he couldnt ride a dirtbike so and you wouldnt believe it he bought a brand new very ol stock Suzuki 4 wheeler single cylinder two stroke 500cc and he smoked all of us ,it was by far the most dangerous thing on 4 wheels and it damm near killed him everytime ,he ended up swapping it for a Honda 250cc three wheeler but with a 4 stroke ,love your channel we all sit round and watch it together ,merry christmas to you and yours bud
Ah man! The three wheeler days!.. Lived on my Honda 110! Rode that thing for a year before I found the high low selector. These things were tanks.. This video brought back some memories. Thanks for sharing!
I made a Motorized bike when I was a teen , had limited tools / materials but place my side pole motor to rub directly on the tire. Which worked but made bike unbalanced but got speed . Think it was a 3hp briggs.
That first guy is super messed up. He must have been on some drugs or something, I’ve watched a ton of your videos, and have learned your personality. Your a nice guy, and know exactly what your talking about. I’ve negotiated my whole life, I’ve met thousands and thousands of people to buy and sell, and I’m only 20. If someone makes an offer, I either say I’ll take it, or price is firm. There is never a reason to get nasty, especially if it’s someone who respects equipment as much as me.
Yeah the guy was definitely a little wacky for sure. I mean kicking somebody off your property for making an offer after they drove over 2 hours is pretty messed up. Bad memories. Lol.
that was so wrong so many was . who pays the asking price i bet you that guy does same thing. that first guy he doesn't live in NY does he . why i ask there a guy on RU-vid have like almost every Honda 3 wheeler ever was made but this guy seem like he a cool dude but i guess you never know
Grew up riding one of these in the 80s. Learned to go fast on flat, straight areas and take it easy through the rougher stuff. An don't put your foot down, whatever you do!!
That’s funny. I gave away a 1985 Honda 250ES last fall as I got sick of it taking up space. It had 3 yo gas in it and it started right up and drove it up the ramp into his pickup. Funny thing, out of boredom I changed all the wheel bearings, brakes and cables on it right before I parked it. Th rear fender was pretty broke up because of deep lug tires similar to a farm tractors. When I put those on it was like a whole new machine on the muddy trail I’d run it on. Many times with the newer tires I’d would go through stuff that with the stock tires I’d have to get off and push. The 250ES is over 400 lbs, but it has full suspension, kick start, shaft drive, super lower and reverse. .Pushing 70 I like my 900 EPS side by side better. Keep riding and have fun. BTW I have a chipped tooth from eating those handle bars 20 some years ago.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHowJust another day. I should have been kneeling on the tank. I used it for three years to get to our cabin 6 miles off the road. We ride snowmachines in the winter. Hell its snowing now.
Wow that bring me a long way back, we use to ride these so much when i was a kid, so much fun! Life was easy and a lot cheaper back then! Thanks for sharing, i love your content, watched many of your videos and will keep watching more! ( I am a mechanic to)😉
Great video(s) Chris! I binge watched the Grand Torino road trip, ‘71 Chevelle 1 and 2 and now the ATC video. Very cool. I currently have an ‘83 ATC 200 and an ‘85 200X. Great machines. Thanks for your great videos! Take care
I suspect the first individual has issues mate so don't fret .. the latter machine is probably twice the trike eh....karma.you have a good heart, rewarded for this...
Right On! Grew up on a 1984 Honda 200S, and a Yamaha 200L. The Honda always was reliable, eventually the tires gave out, the Yamaha always had trans shift problems, rear wheel bearings replaced with automotive ones-cost, and was finikiy and the tires rotted out too-then the Yammy siezed. That Honda tho, just had a sound, and was always faithful. Miss it, even though I have a comfy quad. Both were sold together, running, and the Yamaha smoked burned blue.
Carb set up like mine 300 tube goes up Honda got to love them. I once took wheels off my 250r. To turn it to get under house work on it back in day winter time. Junked side case chain jumped. Was getting new case. It’s a job. My Honda 300 has new looking tank inside. And has Honda rattle.
I had a couple 3 wheeler's back in the day my first one was a yellow Suzuki 125 and then I had a Honda big red 250 with the rack in the front and back they were fun but I liked 2 stroke dirt bikes the best and old Yamaha snowmobiles are my faves
Sick find and buy. Forget about the other guy who told you to get off his property. It's going to happen that someone will negotiate and he should've expected it.
1275.00 for a brand new 1985 Honda 185S . I purchased a full face helmet with it- I was sixteen- hit a rock in the trail with the rear left tire on a winter speed run to my friends house. Glad I bought and always wore that helmet. I found out quickly that you lead with your face when flying through the air in those types of scenarios.
Takes me back, my uncle owned a caravan park and had 2x 200m and then later part x them in for a 300 Big Red 4x4 wheeler.. But it went more places and more power but not as fun as the 3 wheelers !!
My first one was good ole Honda 185s. Then few decent 250r. 85 and 86. Back in 90s early 90s in school still. Had nice 86 350x. 95-96 done graduated by then. Traded a friend nice rail buggy for it he paid 2000$ back then for it. Was near mint. Love three wheelers. I had them because 4 wheels costed lot more. Stay safe. Hell Yeah the ole unload. And sometimes you have to be ahole to. Ahole recognizes ahole. Lol.
I bought a cheap plastic welder and shit worked great. Would probably fix that cracked plastic you mentioned. I used it on my Kubota BX hood and various other plastic applications. I got it on eBay and it works great
Yeah they love to roll over for sure! I remember rolling several times my first few times riding. But once you get them down they actually ride really amazing, just got to throw your weight around and keep er balanced
First time I rode one of these ATC’s, back in ‘78’ I backflipped it, crossing a ditch, and nearly broke my neck. I had similar experiences with my 4-wheeler…lol.
Close to wv. Will go riding got 300 4x4 99. Honda of course looks little well you know. Runs good stops not so good. New brakes in bag on shelf hound put front disk kit I already got 12” wheels on her. It nice for about 500-600$ in it starts right up.
I Had 125m loved it had a trimoto 200 and a 200x and 350x I'd rather ride a three wheeler than anything else wish I still had them worth some good money now
Reminded me of all good times had in jr-hi school. Honda bound Dennis Kirk magazine at lunch circling parts gonna order. Dirt wheels magazine all new rides coming out. 89 the Honda Pilot. Man did I want one. Had few 250 oddaseys 79 and 82 full cage. Camoed. Good times. 85-93 got held back lol. Up to about 96-97. Son was born 2000 so ended riding for awhile. Lol
I had someone bug on me like that too, I drove from NY to OH to find out the tractor he e-mailed me pics of wasn't even the one he had listed so I made a smartass lowball offer like 2 grand less. It came close to getting physical and the cops actually came, I explained to the cops what happened and they said the guy had done this before. Weirdest part was the guy then accepted my offer and I was like F@CK YOU, went home with an empty trailer. It works both ways too, I had a Tundra that was perfect mechanically but the frame had cracked and the truck was bent like a taco so I had it up for 900 bucks and some clown comes up and offers 200 I was just like "Oh I forgot it's already sold BYE" and told him to split but the truck was worth way more than 9 in parts and his offer was just wasting my time. Your offer was totally legit and the dude was just a d@ick that's in it for profits. Good luck with the ATC, my cousin still has his Tecate sitting in the garage, I might go snag that up and hurt myself now, you're the best bad influence around dude!!
Damn, that sounds like a rough drive with trailer to go home empty-handed. hate when stuff like that happens. Anything I sell these days I always make sure to do a video on it so there's no surprises when somebody comes to see it. Always sucks when a deal goes south
Nice video- you could ride/ rent- these at a track at the ocean here - like a go cart track but with dirt and hills- there was a wreck every hour or more- but they are cool- this was like 1984-85
That’s funny was typing and rewinded some and u got wheels off. Damn that’s funny seen that after typing and not watching video can’t type and watch. Lol.
When I sold my 350x I made the guy count out his change to the price I was asking. Sold it for $1500 couple years ago, probably could get 3,000 for it today.
It was in great shape. Kick myself in the butt every time I think about it. But bills were tight at that point and it sold. Was a good investment tho. Only paid $100 for it, the kid didn’t know what he had. Paid $80 for a big red from the same kid. I’ll Instagram you a picture of my big red with a snow plow.
Wicked buy man, WOW though, That 1st guy was a total douche. LOL I have been looking for a couple of these to build a two wheel version, They look so cool and I really like the fat tire bikes but they are pretty scarce. I think the two wheel three wheeler conversion would be a real cool hunt bike.
Got hurt real bad one time on an old 350X Honda. Broke my back and foot. Peeled all the skin off my back from my shoulder blade to my butt cheek broke L1-L3 transverse processes off my spine. Sucked real bad.
I've watched 3 videos in a row the drowning of the Toyota was funny as fuk. what a great recovery How you repeated yourself by letting us the audience know about the four X4 low range 🤣 the camper what a great team effort'top frigging job Bloke never been a great fan of the trike but very rare I'm sure they bought a motocross one out 2-stroke yeah man a real Nick breaker we was still wondering if you had the Pet squirrel my wife would like to know how you guys met I told her don't be nosey but she made me ask if you're do a video on that we love your video material
but you seem like you are a buying and selling pro and have probably had thousands of transactions through craigslist and facebook. you are bound to find an a$$hole like that someday
What's up brotha?!? I love your channel and really enjoy your 'will it run' videos!! I have two old 3 wheelers (big red 250es & big red 200) that have not run in years but would love to get them running (with your help). What would it take to get you to come to kingman ME?!? Population 130 :) If you love trail riding, fishing, hunting, sea food, this is the place for you!! Let me know if you'd be interested in coming up here to BFM and what it would cost (time, effort, travel, etc) thanks so much for the videos....take care and have I great day!!
I know this video is 2 years old but i guarantee that first guy got someone else messaging him after he told you to come, he wasnt enough of an ass to blow you off after agreeing but the first chance he got to give himself an out he took it
Bro as for the weird guy who got mad. No big deal. But u gotta call me I would have got Julious down to ur 1200 price point. Plus maybe a beer an a pizza. Of course no disrespect to Julious
Suicide machines lol! I ride dirt bikes my while life so with that being said I've almost died Everytime I rode one sadly same thing every time. I make the mistake of putting my foot down , the I get drug off an runner over
