I think some of my favorite pickups for myself in the last couple of months have got to be - a PSVR, 2 Modded PS1s, a Sega Dreamcast, DKC 1, 2 and Earthworm Jim 2 for SNES and a PSTV. VR was bought, Modded PS1s - 1 was given to me and the other was a yard sale find, Worked out a trade for the Dreamcast. SNES games were a yard sale find (on an ask), and the PSTV was also a gift from the friend who gave me a PS1. I'm loving all the Sega content, don't have many nostalgic memories of these consoles, since I never owned them, but seeing it get the love, and showcasing more info to me, has been truly appreciated. Incredible pickups for sure. That SCUD book looks like such a cool find. You guys have such a killer game room, I hope to have something even 1/2 as cool (or organized) at some point. I picked up a few rental cases at MGC. They’re a great way to store the consoles that I don’t have set up and they make me feel nostalgic for the rental store!

Man, I love the sega love lately. Sega cd is great, but I don't have a lot but Spiderman game I have and is good. That terminator looks awesome. It's a great pickup there. I picked up saturn bootleg sampler demo disc, tales of unwritten tales for wii u. Paid up for that 144. But it is super rare for wii u. Got a homebrew of fix it felix for genesis. Also got rocky, bullwinkle and friends for nes. Box and cart but no manual. But it was the cleanest nes box I have ever seen for 58 bucks not a bad deal. Great video.
Silpheed has an earlier game than what was released on the sega cd. It was on tandy 1000 computers back in the 80s. Probably other computers too. Sega cd takes the original concept and takes it to a new level.
Its not so much of a find lately but seeing my kids get into the retro games more and more at 12 and 9. But i am going to start collecting the sega systems. Only because i have DOOM for the 32x haha.
Unicorn Overlord on sale from Best Buy (Canada) for Xbox, physical copy with launch data on disc no less! I'm more of a digital collector but thanks to creators like you guys perched on my shoulder I'm buying more and more physical when I can afford it.😎
Great variety video on this one. Man. I am hyped for you guys entering the world of Sega Cd. Got some great games right off the bat too. NHL 94, The Amazing Spiderman Vs the Kingpin, and Terminator are all bangers. Some games you guys should look out for that I own that I recommend are Android Assault (Awesome Shmup), Earthworm Jim Special Edition (Best Port of the game with new additions/ Pricey), Eternal Champions (A big improvement over the genesis title and fun to play), Mickey Mania (Best port of the game and is a great but challenging platformer /animation is beautiful), Mortal Kombat (Was the best original port of the game /no blood code needed here), Nba Jam (Best Port of the OG game before arcade edition), Pitfall the Mayan Adventure (Best Port of the game and a fun and challenging platformer), Sonic Cd (What’s to say, considered by some to be the best in the series). Now for some ones I recommend but am not sure you guys would be into. The first is fun and hilarious. The Star Wars Chess game for anyone out there that enjoys chess and Star Wars and some of the funny animations that they display on this game is great. Finally, some of my favorite games on the system, Shining Force Cd and both Lunar games. I know you guys don’t do Rpgs really but damn these 3 are bangers. Lunar 1 and 1 actually happen to be my top 2 favorite games of all time. Playing them on a crt or hooked up to the Mega SG on a large flatscreen is great either way. I heard you guys mention Snatcher. I actually have a second copy of the game that is missing the manual. I planned on taking it with me to Classic game Fest down here in Texas in July to try to use a trade value for something large such as a little Sampson or something.

Recent pickups include some Classic NES games for the GBA (I’m going for a complete set) and Robotron 2084 for the Atari Lynx. Robotron Lynx is a surprisingly good port despite the handheld (lol) not having 2 joysticks. Instead, you move with the d-pad and use the two face buttons to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise and the player character just fires his gun automatically. Really fun! The Atari Lynx has a lot of impressive arcade ports really. The thing is a beast, both in size and power. No wonder it lost to the Gameboy, it sucks batteries dry and it wasn’t very portable. I’m pretty sure those modern PC handhelds like the Steam Deck and Rog Ally are still smaller than the Lynx. Still a great system that I add a new game to my collection every now and then.
Happy to see you guys talk about sega CD. Its one of my favorite consoles. Its easy to make your own copies. 😅 Which is what I did and threw them into custom cases.
I’ve been collecting a bunch of sega stuff mainly since 2020. Even now while everyone is losing their minds over the 360 I’m still pretty much solely collecting Sega stuff. The prices on sega stuff has seen some what of a decline over the past few months and I’ve found some more rare titles as of late like cannon spike. Edit: did pick up sega rally revo for 360 recently though since I wanted the game for a while and I think sold less than 50k copies so I didn’t want to get priced out. Well worth the $30 I spent

More Sega CD games to get that I know you would like: Android Assault - badass shoot em up Batman Returns (driving sections rule) Dungeon Explorer - fun Gauntlet clone that's 2 player Ground Zero Texas Lords of Thunder - legendary shoot em up NBA Jam Night Trap - you already know it and how campy it is. I hate this game but you'd love it for it's cheese. Popful Mail - action platformer rpg that's expensive so rip it Road Avenger - hilarious so bad it's good racing game Robo Aleste - MUSHA sequel must play shoot em up Soulstar - gorgeous ahead of its time 3D Starfoxish shoot em up must own Cobra The Space Adventure - just as good as Snatcher but no one talls about it, very campy visual novel sci fi! WWF rage in the cage - it's wrestling Cliffhanger - so bad it's good racing sequences Games I recommend you try that I love: Sonic CD - one of the best Sonic games - I know you guys arent the biggest Sonic fans but this is a must own and top Sega CD game that is still relatively affordable last I checked. Shining Force CD - one of the best strategy RPG games ever and very fun Dark Wizard - amazing strategy game, very underrated Eternal Champions - best fighting game on the system next to... Mortal Kombat Flink - obligatory side scrolling 90s platformer Lunar 1 and 2 and Vay rpgs you guys will never play
Haven't done any really nice pick up aside from almost CIB Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego (no farmers almanac, hah). I really gotta commend you guys for spending, but keeping it real. For Sega CD I'm a huge fan of Soul Star and AH Thunderstrike for shooting and movement in an environment. I wish they would have made an X-Men game for Sega CD similar to Spider-Man. Keep up the great work.
I absolutely love the Mega CD. The Terminator is fantastic, other Mega CD favourites of mine are Earthworm Jim Special Edition, Keio Flying Squadron and Lords Of Thunder (I still need to track this one down myself one day).
Still have my original Sega CD that I got back in 1994. The FMV blew my mind back then. A Great System. BTW, I loved Corpse Killer, one of the first horror themed games I played as a kid, loved it, and the cover art is classic for the time it was released. BTW, those are all great pickups you scored.

R-Type Final! It’s not expensive but maybe it should be? I visited over a dozen stores the last six months and didn’t find a copy until Midwest Gaming Classic.
Loving that my Dreamcast light gun no calibration comment got a shout out, cheers to you guys. I also just got a sega cd and 32x for the tower of power. 32x has a great version of NBA jam tournament edition. Graphics are great, not as good as the sega saturn, but still very good and no loading. I really like the Saturn version but all the loading really breaks up the flow and slows down the game too much.
Down the rabbit hole you go, expensive endeavour! I recently picked up a 32x. I hope to find a model 1 Sega CD one day (sexy as hell), even a non-working one.

Definitely want to watch you play jurassic park! It's underrated and pretty cool.. The game gives me a feel of being back at the park after the original movie. The raptor cave is going to tear you apart if you dont know what you're doing though, definitely save before going there.
Ive been aggressivly collecting the Sega CD for the past year and a half. Im down to just 5 more for a full set. Some Sega CD suggestions that people tend not to talk about much would be Road Avenger, Flink, Time Gal, Wolfchild, and Robo Aleste
Snatcher is my holy grail, and the only commercially released game I have a repro of. It's an amazing game. Someday I'd like to own a legit copy, but we'll just see how that goes. I love Survival Horror and one of my biggest regrets was passing on Rule of Rose back in the PS2 days, and I finally got a good deal on a copy a few months back, so that's probably the best pick-up I've had in quite a while.
Really want to play Snatcher. I'd like a legit copy as well but for the time being I think I'm going to look for a nice repro copy. It's crazy expensive
I've been wanting Corpse Killer. I have the remaster digitally on switch (for $3). I've heard the loss of Lightgun support was no big deal on Saturn cause it sucked on Sega CD. I'd buy it today if you guys said it was worth it. Anything to report?

Hi i recently got the sniper gun for xbox with silent scope. Lookin forward to it with house of the dead 3 and 2 aswell! Thanks for your videos gotg. Love the light gun videos too. Its so difficult to pick a favourite light gun game in arcade or at home. I also got 2 virtua sega guns for sega saturn. I only have virtua cop 2 and hotd 1. Need to check out scud i think its called. Keep doin the videos and have a nice beer and a few energy drinks.
I was just playing Batman Returns on my pi 3b+ a few days ago, granted. I wish I had the original hardware (I've been gaming since before 80') but it was always a severely underrated, and pretty powerful add-on.
Really been picking up a lot of the different racers on the 360. I just got most wanted cib to finish out the need for speed set. That one is going up a insane price.

Scud rules. It has 3 spinoff series as well: Scud: Tales from the Vending machine, which is a series of one shots by guest authors, La Cosa Nostroid, a series about the mafia guys and their Voltron-esque robots, and Drywall & Oswald, featuring the misadventures of Drywall and his psychotic buddies. I have some of them, but not nearly all. I do have a new in package Scud figure that was a WizardWorld exclusive back in the day that looks like he's in the vending machine. Sega also made a Scud PC game back in the day, but I never did get it. WWF Hasbros are great. I don't have a ton, but I do love the ones I have, especially Earthquake and Demolition. My only recent pickups are a package my wife ordered me for Christmas that didn't ship until this week because of one game that was on pre-order. All for PS4, it had River City Rival Showdown, SuperEpic, Pato Box, and Sakura Wars in Chinese. I'm not looking to learn Chinese, but apparently it was only $3, and put her just past the limit for free shipping, so that'll stay sealed. I beat SuperEpic already, which was an easy metroidvania. Not amazing, but it's hard to make a metroidvania I won't like at all. Pato Box is fun with a mix of boxing and exploration. It goes for a Punch Out flavor, and while the controls are kinda laggy to get there, it's still neat. River City adds 2 player couch co-op to the 3DS game, so I'm saving it to play co-op, dince I already did it single player on 3DS years ago. Enjoy the Sega CD! I have a big chunk of the library, and there's some cool stuff. I think my favorites at this point are Popful Mail and Android Assault, but I enjoyed the Lunars and Robo Aleste a lot as well. Flink is really beautiful on it, though a little less playable. I have some of the FMV glorious garbage, but I have to admit, I prefer to play them on 3DO. I have the American Laser Games light gun, and it's hard to beat Drug Wars and Space Pirates on 3DO for garbage gun games!
If you guys like Corpse Killer then you should definitely check out Mad Dog McCree. I played it to death in the 3DOv. It’s campy, cheesy, terribly acted & maddeningly difficult at times but i absolutely love it.
I picked up quite a bit there (including a light gun for the Saturn and the Dreamcast!) actually. Oddly enough my favorite pick up from MGC was Deep Fear for the Saturn (JP, it never came out in North America unfortunately). The cheesiest survival horror game with English voice acting and Japanese text. It'd be interesting if you guys dived into survival horror games from the 32 bit era, there are so many odd ones from that time...
I am a PS3 junkie i have 129 games for the console and this month I picked up Godfather the dons edition and Twisted metal. Also i got a modded wii for my wii gamecube, and sega genesis needs. 😎
You're already better off than I am. I have two Model 1 CDs & like three Model 2s, none of them work. Those are a future repair project, since from what I understand nobody makes an ODE for them disappointingly. Out of those game pickups featured, I've got Sol Feace & Rebel Assault, great titles. I've also got NBA Jam on the CD, and since you guys love that game so much already you should probably consider grabbing the CD version as well. I think it's considered the best version. Oh how bout this one, I've got a copy of Cobra Command in a rental clamshell, way more durable than the brittle long boxes they came with. So in my area we've got a big grocery store chain called Stop & Shop, and this game came from their video rental service during the 90s when that shit was hot. I distinctly remember renting the Road Rash games from there a lot. The only evidence on Cobra Command is the sticker on the back of the manual. I just thought that was cool retro nostalgia, good game too. I need some Menacer compatible games, I've got two guns but nothing to use them on. Right on, dpad for life. There's just certain games that don't feel right with a joystick.
So glad ours works. I've seen tons of people that have non working ones. Hopefully ours holds up. I don't even know where to begin fixing one. Fingers crossed! I personally love when games have a sticker from smaller local rental shops. Very cool!
@@GamingOffTheGrid It sounds like capacitors and a refresh of the laser assembly for the most part. From what I gather, there's a complex board layout that has subroutines or whatever so it's not as simple as other consoles in terms of creating an ODE, and there's no copy protection preventing you from burning an Iso on a CDR. I dunno, I'll figure it out eventually. It's pretty low priority at the moment.
Alright guys. I'm gonna be that guy. You are just now getting into Sega CD. Fun format. Great titles. Disc rot is a thing. There are numerous titles of video disc that have been reported with rot. The age of Sega CD is not that far behind. What are your plans? As far as I know, it still is unknown if rot is contagious, or if it is specifically manufacturing related. We all want to preserve our games, but time will eventually F us all.
We haven't encountered it yet. Time will tell. The collection has always been in cases and climate controlled. Fingers crossed. As far as a backup plan...........we know how to emulate. We just prefer the real deal. Cheers!
Sega CD has zero copy protection (though it does have region lockout), so you can always burn backups or buy repros as needed. Nothing wrong with collecting the real deal. So far, I've been lucky enough that my Sega CD games have lasted nearly 30 years so far without issue, but if they die, I take solace in that there are options. Maintaining the hardware isn't bad. Fresh caps, worst case replace a laser if cleaning amd adjusting voltage doesn't do the job.
@@GamingOffTheGrid So far, I personally have gotten (in lots) 2 PS1s and 1 Sega CD as well as a half dozen music CDs with disc rot. They were all picked up from either garage sales or flea markets, so probably not the best of climate {FL.) I caution all my collector brothers to check close before dropping serious coin. It really has started.
Tryin to play me out like as if my name was SEGA! I remember that Freddy TV show in addition to other campy horror like Tales from the Dark Side, Friday the 13th, Monsters, Tales from the Crypt, Twilight Zone. Finally picked up a lot of move games then a couple light gun rifles/pistols and have been testing them out. A little getting used to for the games that are not on rails but still playable. May start exploring Kinect light guns?

@@GamingOffTheGrid Never knew there was one for Kinect either until this past weekend when someone in a local FB collector group posted a bright ass orange Cabellas chotgun for sale so assuming there are more. FYI, I was able to find a black Nyko Perfect shot for PS3 on eBay just like y’alls but they run $3-400 each 😉 so got a couple of El Cheapo generic pistolas as part of a packaged deal with an extra move/nav controller for only $40. Lookin forward to the review on that chunker!
Guys guys I recently picked up an Original Xbox because my childhood Xbox was on its last legs and ever since I got it I've been buying a ton of OG Xbox games. My favorite I've gotten WWE RAW 2 oh yea baby I absolutely loved this game and it's fun as hell. Other games I've gotten are soke of the 007 games Agent Under Fire Everything or Nothing and my absolute favorite From Russia With Love.
you need to try the awesome hori fighting commander pad for xbox! its the best pad i have used man! my recent pickups are sega saturn console with sega rally and virtua fighter 2, dungeons and dragons 80s cartoon boxset, ancient cities of gold cartoon boxset and........ original xbox console boxed with outrun 2!
Ecco: the tides of time might be a must buy on the sega CD with the amazing sound track, and it's more forgiving than the first game. The Genesis version is fire and prolly what the first Ecco should have been, I'm sure the Sega cd rendition can only be better 🤘🏻great channel dudes
