I usually look at the fuel tank. There is some crevasses that is really hard to get dirt out of. So depending on what kind of dirt there is,if any, then it shows what kind of life it's led
One of the best channels for no nonsense, clear, easy to understand tips and info on nitro cars. Love the channel mate, you present it all very well and I can tell you're just an all round good bloke.
very informative vid, one of the best RC channels out there keep it up. I've definitely been caught out on cars (particularly prebuilt kits) not coming with receivers or transmitters. Would love to see more driving vids of all your cars. Also Interesting how when googling how to solve problems with RC's some of your early vids on how to fix them are the first recommended.
Thank you! Yes I've got 9 bashing videos waiting to be uploaded, I've just got a bit of a backlog (this particular video was done 8 weeks ago!!). Will get them up soon :)
People aren't necessarily "ripped off", if you're going to buy any piece of machinery, "do some research" find out how much it is new, realise what is involved in running it and most important, set a limit as to what you are willing to pay for it. As you said in the vid, effectively don't get caught in a bidding war 😱. If you are looking at something that is £600 new and you find one that is half the price second hand, look for obvious signs of neglect, RUST! is one of the first things that catches my eye, if it's a bit rusty on turnbuckles but the overall appearance is clean it's probably not to bad. problem is like buying any vehicle, it's a mine field 🔩⚙️🔧. Ask if the engine turns on the Flywheel, it's not a guaranteed way but at least you know it's not siezed. Hope this helps a bit more 👍. Great vidz fella 😀. Think you may be local to me I recognise some of the locations you film at 🤔
I've sold a few cars on flee Bay, I always advertise them spare repairs just because they will need tuning due to the fuel they may use and whether conditions. All cars I have sold do run and work. I do it to cover myself due to some buying a trophy 4.6 blew the engine said it didn't work sent it back to me. Once I investigated needle settings way to lean and front bumper been smashed. So I'd say someone didn't know what they were doing.
TheRCBiker I just bought one on eBay I don’t know if it was a good idea the person got a lot of rc cars and the car looks dusty/dirty the air filter looks old and like it needs to be cleaned. He only did a visual inspection and he said looks intact and when looking at the pics everything looks to be their.its listed as buy as is and he has not started it up to my knowledge. He did say it has good compression
Very usefull tips. Fotos, the language the seller uses to descripe condition etc. Does tell a lot of what to expect. Especially the engine, if nitro, should be a topic. The rest is more obvious on fotos.
Hey Bud. Do you get your hands on any FTX crawlers? That's the only type of car I'm missing from the fleet lol. The FTX Ravine looks amazing for the price but it's out of stock. Cheers for the vids ;)
I’ve looked back at your previous videos from years ago. You reviewed an acme cyclone and looked and ran really well for the price. Do you still recommend it for a casual driver? They are back up on nitrotek on the 7th July. Thanks and again great, informative video 🤙
The old ACME can be a bit unpredictable, the newer ones are OK (Warrior, Barbarian). If you specifically want an on road car then the Cyclone is OK as long as you enjoy tinkering with them :) Otherwise, check out the FTX Carnage or Torro which is just a bit of a step up in terms of quality & reliability
Are old rc nitros good one guy is selling a old kyosho nitro rally car it is like 9 years old so idk haw much life has the engine got so idk of I should be a buyist
Hello there, I have the kyoshio inferno neo 3.0 have you got any good wheels that will go with it? And also should it be running blue smoke when running the car I seem to be getting through fuel like no tomorrow I’m using 25 percent fuel. Thank you
Hi there! Yes I took it bashing last Saturday and have a video waiting to go up. I've fitted a kill switch and upgraded the radio and It's running really well. I didn't go too hard on the bashing as I'm waiting on a few upgraded parts, especially the front chassis protector. I've been warned that it's a weak point and if you bash it too hard you risk bending the chassis! So until I've got the upgraded part I went easy on it :) Video will be up soon
Which rc cars brand r better in the market? I have HPI rush evolved very old n time to look for new model, which fuels better optifule or model techics big bang fuels 20%? Can u please let me know
I see people bidding up nitro cars to almost new price all the time. It's crazy considering you might need to spend £50-100 to get it in good working order again.
Yes I agree. I see some real crap going for prices only a bit less than a brand new one. There is one particular ebay seller that obviously buys and sells them for income, and he consistently lists very old and, in my opinion, poor condition stuff at almost new prices!
@@TheRCBiker another thing is people spend a lot on a cheap model like a hsp or hyper 7 that is 10+ years old when they might be better off buying a roller race buggy like an x-ray, losi or mugen and then putting a basic but decent new engine in it. Then the main component which can go wrong is new but the rest of the chassis is used but solid. For example instead of buying a used car for £150 or even a new RTR for £240, you could get a roller for £100-120 with a new £100-120 engine. My xb808 was £89 as a roller and it has many carbon fibre and high spec parts. All I needed was a radio and and engine and it was good to go.
Hey Josh how do you tell if the car is running lean or rich by sound? I have always gone off how much exhaust smoke is coming out and if the engine is bogging down.
Lean HSN it will scream at full throttle and the RPM usually stays high when you come off the throttle. Lean LSN it will "tremble" at idle and , as you say, bog on acceleration. Trouble with going by smoke is I recently changed over to a race fuel which is 9% Oil, there wasn't much smoke at all despite it being tuned OK. I've since switched back to Optifuel RTR fuel which is 15% oil , and now there's tonnes of smoke again!
@@TheRCBiker Ok I am getting back into the hobby after a few years and forgot some things. The local hobby shop here only sells Traxxas nitro fuel. I normally get 20%. Appreciate it though.
Could you help me my car starts up and seems to be okay on short burst. But when I go to get full speed it's boggs out and cuts out I took it into the ship to get it tuned it ran alot better but the next time a week later I went to take it out it was like it was bogging out again is it too lean or what would you say it could be
What about to sell them my dad bought me a used old nitro rustler but needs a bit of work and want to sell it but don’t know what price to put on it and I replaced with a new 2.4 GHZ receiver and controller??
Well selling is easier because the buyers will decide the price, put it on an auction sale :) Or, look up other listings to see how much they are worth and do a Buy it now listing with offers !
Hi David Could be too rich or too lean If you're on Facebook, Like my Facebook page (facebook.com/thercbiker ) and then send me a message on there with a short video of it running I can then tell you straight away what to do :)
