In this video I share my experience of picking up my BYD atto3 and how it felt like I might have actually made a blunder in choosing the car. Link for equipment - Support the channel by buying from the link. amzn.to/3wP87cd
Thanks for your input, Ryan! I've noticed a fair share of negative comments but haven't fully grasped the reasons behind them. So some positive feedback, especially coming from you means a lot. 😊
Hi. Thanks for the video. I’ve had my Atto 3 since August 22 and really appreciate it. I had a Tesla MY RWD unfortunately destroyed in an accident in October. The BYD suspension is much softer which I certainly prefer. The BYD is an excellent introduction into EVs and I have zero regrets buying it.
Sickly feeling at first was probably the strong new car smell it gave off, which was worse than any other new car I have bought or been in. Fortunately, it went away. The worst thing I have experienced is the blind spot feature turning itself off for no reason, which it has done a few times. You think you are being warned and discover it's not working, which is very unsafe. It has a few gremlins like that which spoil it a bit, but there are plenty of positives that still make it a good buy. No car is perfect.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I have not experienced the blindspot not working issue yet. But I agree no car is perfect, but this is great for the price and overall experience is better than expected.
@@EVandTechInsights Blind spot has a cetre console button, and it may have had some early touches before knowing what it did. Since learning of it, it has worked fine because nobody touches it. It is crazy to have it as an easy to reach toggle though. I would rather it switch to BYD when android phone is connected, which is a pain through the screen.
The new car smell making you sick was the toxic chemicals leaking ot of the cheap Chinese plastics two words that dont go together Chinese and quality Google byd fires in China
Comparing it to a tesla is not an apples to apples comparison . Tesla is 2x the price than an atto. Appreciate your thoughts on this since it’s something to think of just in case i consider buying the atto as my 1st electric vehicle.
Thanks for the video, I’m going to a test drive event this afternoon and looking forward to it. I’m considering the BYD instead of Mach E or EV6 so I can get a second car as a toy as well. Hoping it’s as great as the reviews say!!
Good luck with the test drive. For the price BYD is pretty good. EV6 is also a fantastic car though, if you have funds to spare that might be a better car overall.
@@EVandTechInsights I did get to drive a Seal 38S while there and that was something else! Rivals my Jag for feel and comfort and also feeling a bit special but with 530bhp it was incredible! So fast but also really easy to cruise about and drive chilled. I want one of them now but unfortunately not available on my lease scheme.
Thanks for the feedback Jason😊. I have taken that into account while creating the recent videos, do check them out and let me know if there’s anything that I can do for them as well. Really appreciate the honest feedback.
Please stop the -ve marketing of any car without being conversant with the car on the initial few hrs of driving. Whatever, the cars are designed by experts, in comparison with peer ones one may weigh high or low. That doesn't mean you have the free social networking start hurting everyone out there. Think positive and be in purview of the subject. BYD is doing a great job, hail them rather than cornering on petty things.
Appreciate the feedback, there are some viewers that took it harshly that I called out my BYD first experience to not be as good as I expected. So thanks again for understanding the intentions of honest user experience.
You know you can disable all of those options right? I hate when people complain about something that is totally under their control. This "experience" is not objective at all.
If I have to disable auto steer, then why have it at the first place. If your car does have a feature, I believe it is fine to have some level of expectation from it.
@@EVandTechInsights you can change the way it notifies you, even to a vibration in the steering wheel. Also the fact the car is constantly notifying you, just shows you are not the best driver.
So much drama bro. Glad you like the car now, but you went from the “biggest mistake ever in your whole life” to I love the car now. A bit on the clickbaitish zone tbh.
lol I wish I was. But if I was sponsored or biased I would not buy a BYD. So that comment is baseless, maybe watch my other videos to know that I share my experience with my car and not praise Tesla even if they are not good.
Id pay 10% more for a tesla because in 3 to 4 years from now everyone who bought byd will regret when fsd becomes legalized for level 4 autonomous. You think you are saving but i think you arent really saving anything.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just confirming Firstly how is 10k difference in price Got calculated as 10%. Secondly, if you add on FSD that’s 11000 more. And when and if it will be legalised is a big uncertainty. And worst case scenario the people who bought BYD can enjoy the car until that happens, and then switch if and only if they feel like using FSD. And I totally agree Tesla FSD solution is way beyond any other car manufacturers. But the matter of the fact is that not everyone is similarly inclined to use it.
@@EVandTechInsightsI guess you did not see recent videos of BYDs electronic gear shift rotor assembly. Many of These BYD EVs won't last 1 day past their warranty.
Indeed, cars like other things have the risk of exploding, although ICE cars do have the similar risks and BYD used blade batteries in there new cars including atto 3, which does have more resistance to heat and explosion in cells.
Wants something for nothing. Probably expect them to give cars away or something. World owes you or something? So entitled. Don't need customers like that.
