Lol. You know US and European automotive companies heavily involved with BYD right? US has more design , technology and engineering Centers than any other country. Most cars designed and developed there still. Americans are in Shanghai helping BYD with technology . NVIDIA sent a US team to Shanghai to help BYD develop safety and self driving capability. Look it up.

I see a lot of comments here full of jealousy and envy, if. Nissan make a car that look like Toyota no one says a freaking thing, if the Chinese build something that look the slightest like Toyota they call it copycat, all the cars nowadays look the same you can only tell the difference by their names and logo. FYI the Chinese build way better quality cars now than western brands you wont know that cause most of your dont live in the real world. if their products were crap we wont be worry about letting them in our country cause no one will buy them but they know ones theses cars get in here is the end for American car companies

45km electric range is really a bad plan, 100-150km can keep a lot of people from needing to refuel most of the time, Ranger and Shark will meet in Australia, with the same tariffs and other fees, probably around $4-45,000, the Ranger PHEV is basically finished

It’s over for Ford. There’s no way they’re gonna be able to compete. They’re trying to get 60 something plus thousand for a Ford lightning. The only thing they had that was halfway competitive was the Maverick and now they’ve raised prices on it to their average price of being about $34,000for some low end hybrid it was a good truck at $19,000 but $34,000. It’s not worth it. We need real competition and zero tariffs to just put them out of business and the UAW and all of their greedy useless non-innovative bureaucracies.

Rather than BYD crying like a little girl why not build a factory in USA or Mexico? That’s what mature car manufacturers do. Heck even Chinese owned Volvo built manufacturing in USA. Hey US manufactures had to do this in China. Is BYD special? Nope! Maverick hybrid truck in USA starts at $25K not $34K and is very popular seller. This also doesn’t include incentives including ford financing and lease options .

I'm sure there will be plenty of comments on the quality of the BYD Shark. The foremost users of the vehicle will be Chinese, and if the car threatens or compromises the lives of the Chinese people, the owners of BYD will be held accountable - not in the American sense of levying a fine (that would be dismissed as a cost of business), but likely jail or worse. Time and time again, the CPC has shown that it doesn't mess around to hold wealthy or influential people accountable. Chinese quality has already surpassed American-made products because no one rich or powerful in America is ever held accountable.

When USB had car experts tear apart a BYD dolphin, the experts said that BYD could make a car cheaper by 25% because they made all the parts. US automakers contract out 60% of their parts. This truck looks like no human hands touched it in assembly. If so, they could run 24/7 and turn off the lights. Lights only needed for humans to fly drones to take pictures. Looks like they don't need Deming to improve their processes.
