Bye Bye Birdie - Kids! 

(The late) Maureen Stapleton was my (late) father’s cousin-in-law. I visited her a number of times backstage at Broadway plays, the Colonial Theatre in Boston (pre-Broadway), and on the set of “Queen of the Stardust Ballroom.” She was a very talented actress and a genuinely nice person.

In 1961 Dick Whittinghill, a DJ on radio station KMPC in Los Angeles, played a version of this song with somewhat different lyrics. I have never been able to find the recording.

If Paul was alive during this time in history his prefomances would be quite different I think.
