Bye Bye Bora Bora 

my heart dropped when i heard the news about bora bora... getting the chance to djs and experience it 1st hand was something I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I stayed at Playa Den Bossa for a week from 28th July last year .Went to Bora Bora beach to find music switched off and never to return. I first found Bora Bora in 2013. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.. music was epically loud and just brilliant. Loved being part of a free spirited all day beach party with people from around the world. I appreciate things have to move on. Ibiza in general is now turning into a super expensive VIP destination.

Lovely video mate ❤️🙏❤️. But the new Ibiza is Not for me! The last best memories for me are from the film It’s All Gone Pete Tong , the humour and the darkness is just fantastic ! DJ Gee Moore put Bora Bora on the map. He would play 12 hour sets from a little booth that didn’t even face the crowd. Those times were very special because no one focused on the DJ. Gee got a raw deal as he knew what was coming a long time back. I think the summer of 2005 was his last summer there. After he left they capitalized on what he started and never gave the man credit for establishing Bora Bora. Just like anything else, once the douche factory takes over everything changes for the worse. Gee was the ONLY DJ at Bora Bora and that man is a legend!

Social media and “influencers” are slowly turning the island into a VIP experience which is too cool to be underground.

Yep unfortunately this has to be due to international attention that was brought to Ibiza during the mid - to later 2000’s with the increased interest in dance music across the globe. I believe the owners of the Ushuaia brand are doing this across the island as this is the case with Bora Bora , Space and now Privilege. It’s sad to see and I personally feel this whole “ VIP and likes “ bullshit is taking away the spiritual feel and whole clubbing hedonistic essence of the island and eventually will kill that general feel of the whole experience in years to come. Dance music is for everybody and internationally but I just feel alot of these people with such money from international countries don’t really truly “ Get “ what British and European club culture was and is all about to be really honest. They kinda just jumped on a late bandwagon, threw loads of money at it and have now taken over. I’ll still be there every year regardless however.

man this was a hard watch :( i do fear for ibiza loosing its underground roots i think the only club to stay as it was is amnesia which is the best club in the world FACT!
