Great vid.. bought back some great memories. I went there in 1993 when it was called Ku and three times in 1995, Kylie was on one of the nights. Fantastic place... Unbelievable atmosphere and scenes going on. The one night i went the creators of Manumission Mike and Claire did a live sex show ! Fuckin mental seeing that off your head. Got a photo with that Claire the next visit. I really hope they do something great with the place. Liked and subscribed !! Keep up the great work !

You are right. It's really changed. So cheesy and commercialised. Even the music, had a certain vibe with Alfredo and people like that. It's been lost. Bottle service in ocean beach and crap like that. Could be anywhere now.

I wish I could have experienced that event but unfortunately I hadn’t reached the island still. I’ve been lucky to work with the some of the workers and similar concepts over the years but manumission was something special. I’m the crazy piano man from pikes that’s now owned by one of the manumission guys. Closest I’ll get ha

Who knows if it’ll be open next year if it is then fuck me. They’ll have to spend tens of millions to make that work. I reckon it’s going to be 20,26 but next year they may promote the opening. But who am I to say anything, The family who own it now spent over 20 million on a hotel in the Bay of San Antonio a few years ago and completely renovated a full scale massive Hotel within just a few months and had it open. I remember it well they had over 200 workers working on it night and day 24 hours non-stop. They were literally sleeping in the hotel and working back to back shifts so if this is anything like that with it being the same owners then who knows it might open next week ha ha

Yeah man 1991 I was there & back in 99 & the place wasn’t even close to the same atmosphere and the level of people who went in 91 was insane proper ravers then 99 it was all people more worried about there looks & didn’t care about the music they were listening to. It was a great decade!

Hey if you had a good night then you didn’t miss out. There’s always going to be some time you hear of that you think you were there. You were there when it was privilege and that’s about to be a thing of the past now by the time the new owners are done with it. It was iconic whichever year you went :)

I don’t think it was that I think it was the fact that it was so big that to make it worthwhile opening along with paying all the staff and hiring all of the alcohol. They would have had to sell a certain amount of tickets each event but to sell out privilege with its size. You have to have big name DJs, and unfortunately the big name DJs were already snapped up by the monopoly that is High, Ibiza and Ushuaia. a few years of competing with that and you get to where we are now

I think whatever they do it'll be mega. I just hope it doesn't turn into a vip snob fest. The island certainly doesn't need another one vibe like that. Exiting times though I can't wait to see the result!

@@ibizaamigos I don't think so, Hi Ibiza is exclusive and VIP. Ushuaia is outdoors yet limited space. Privilige with a 10.000 capacity is going to be for the masses. Sure some VIP tables perhaps on a balcony, yet the main floor will be massive. Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, big names going to residence that arena.

@@vmaestro-xj9mp what I’d love to see happen is bookings for live bands. I’m a big fan of electronic music but a venue on the island for that live band atmosphere would be amazing!

@@ibizaamigos never going to happen. Pop, rock all that stuff is dying out. The youth and young adults are interested in electronic dance music. The only thing Ibiza is missing is a proper massive tecno club. Hi Ibiza is mainstream David Guetta and stuff with a high VIP level, Ushuaia is the same yet outdoors. It's the same owner, they are going to program a lot of techno in there.

@@vmaestro-xj9mp I think you’re forgetting amnesia. Also techno imho has had its time. Any music that people just side step for hours to isn’t exciting enough. People need to be entertained and techno simply doesn’t cut it anymore. Live music will never die!

I think it’s a catch 22. There’s pros and cons of this so called internet. You’re doomed if ya use it and doomed if ya do. Without it I wouldn’t have this RU-vid channel so would be just wasting loads of time editing videos for nobody 🤣

I think it’s due to the fact they want to keep things a secret and also a lot of it is under construction so the place is super dangerous to be in there. Maybe they haven’t got planning permission to do the work, who knows the speculation list goes on

I know a guy who’s a good friend of mine he used to Dj in the toilets in manumission. DJ northern monkey. He still DJs on the island
