I watched this episode when I was in 5/6th class. But due to frequent power cut, i coudn't completed it. After a long time ...... Now I completed this episode. Almost took 20 years. Thankuu Doordarshan 😁😁😁😁😁

How precise this series is. !!! No overacting, no fake set and how casual all the actors even small kid too..

Hats off to such a show... Back then in 1993 the makers would not have foreseen that there would be an internet revolution and a repeatable future as we see today. They made shows and made it in a way they could afford. Critique is good but criticising and pointing out the bad is the only thing we do today.

One thing that we all tend to ignore which is a vital part of / crucial element in the show is the haunting background music 🎶 which adds "char chaand" to the show ..

Rajit Kapoor's narration is top-notch. In a low budget, they make engaging serial.

in those golden days in 90,s there is only doordarshan channels ,but100 times better and interested compare to todays 50 channels. remind us that best time we spend to watch our favoerite serials never come that days again we watch these serils of doordarshan with our brothers and sisters.

What a serial!! Classic,out of the world...have been a fan since 90s...The good old 90s !!!!!

The characters are convincing and definitely we need more such tele-series for the current television viewers. This is not just entertainment but also makes you think and use your brain.

This shows reminds me of my childhood and memories. Those days were the best of life. Less television and so much social life. Now life is all about virtual life, real life is almost non existant. Sad to see those days have long gone.

Most modern viewers, it seems, were 'kids' when this program was aired on the Doordarshan. However, I was 26-30 during this period of time (1986-1990), and newly married. My memories are fresh. लगता है इन धारावाहिकों को आज देखने वाले अधिकतर लोग उस समय 'बच्चे' थे जब ये धारावाहिक दूरदर्शन पर दिखाये गये थे । मैं उस समय (१९८६-१९९०) २६-३० वर्ष का युवक था −नव-विवाहित। मेरी यादें कुछ अधिक ही ताज़ी हैं।

The story, the direction & the acting are all brilliant. The director, late Basu Chatterjee, was very loyal to Saradinu Bandopadhay, the author, & followed the storyline meticulously.

Did anyone notice that Deewanji gives the master a piece of paper with the mantra written on it to read inside the hut in pitch darkness, plus without his reading glasses master is as blind as a bat :D

Screenplay ,script , editing , cinematography , original score,casting ..All character all actors has done superb work.. simply outstanding.. outstanding performance by Rajat kapoor ...as Byomkesh bakshi ...👌👌

20 Minutes more screen time would have done much more justice to the story since originality is the premier characteristics of these serials. Anyway, just got hooked on these and probably gonna binge!!

Excellent presentation of great literary creations of famous writer Saradindu Bandyopadhyay by Basu Chatterjee. Simply speaking it is matchless & so popular that it is beyond expression. I am so delighted that even I have seen these episodes several times. Also I will see these in future. These creations will ever remain delightful for me. Indian Sherlock Holmes 😃..... always been fond of thriller, adventure, detective stuffs. And I have very faint memory of having watched this particular TV programme with my parents a long time ago. But I was too young to grasp anything back then. A movie was also made with same name..... I again found it interesting. Incidentally one day.... while scrolling my RU-vid, I happen to stumble upon this old TV programme. Watched a couple of episodes and now here I'm....glued to it. I rather suggest a remake of sorts and make it available to some OTTs...... I think that would be simply great if somebody with likes of Pankaj Tripathi or Nawazuddin Siddique or Jitendra Kumar (Panchayat series) or some talented newbie stars as the main protagonist in that series.
