hola el problema puede ser el cable azul, ese cable va al CDI trasero, que el pulso a la bobina de encendido del piston trasero. por lo tanto el cable azul es un pulso negativo y el cable negro/blanco es el positivo que va a la bomba. entonces la solucion seria poner a tierra el cable azul del relay y dejar el relay como proteccion de la bomba.
Hello! hey, interesting video! I am struggling with my VT700 1986, it has a difference with 85... the fuel pump has a builtin relay. Now pumps comes only with 2 wires and no relay built in, any idea how to solve it? the 86 model have 3 wires directly to the original pump, 12+, ground and ignition pulse signal. I tried to adapt a VLX 600 relay between my 2 wire fuel pump and my 3 wire harness side... but no luck, the relay burnt :-p
If you ride an old gravity fed bike, the same thing happens if you dump it over, gas will pour out everywhere. Not a big deal. People have been riding "unsafe" bikes like that for decades.
It is an anti tip relay the relay has to be in its respective factory spot and can not be tipped one way or another or it will cut the pump out. If you had it hanging off the side and it was signally a tip you will have a no start issue. They do fail and will cause cut out issues as you have. You can test this by hooking up the good relay and move/tip it and the bike should cut off.

Having the same issue with a Suzuki vs1400. Changed the relay tonight and did a carb strip down and clean. I was told a sticky float in the carbs can cause the fuel pump not to prime. That wasn’t the issue and the new relay didn’t work either. I’m tempted to change the starter solenoid next.
A sticky float will make the carburetor overflow and dump fuel out on the floor whenever the pump runs, since the needle won't be closing to stop the fuel flow when the carb bowl is full.
If you put a constant current on your fuel pump, wouldn't the carb overflow? or would the floater close the bowl, just like the gravity fed versions. My instinct says it's wrong to let the pump work constantly. I have the shadow 800, and im having the same problem. is your bike still working like this? 2nd question: what determines when the fuel pump should shut down? A kind of fuel level sensor in the carb?
1 hot from starter button second wire is from the coil -trigger wire which turns on relay 3 wire is pump black/blue is pump hot line all you need is to go from black/white to the blue/black this guy doesn't know much
I'm having the same problem with Hyosung bike currently...I guess the relay isn't getting ground for it's coil to energise or the ecm might be giving problem...In my case the ecm gives 12v supply to relay coil but the outgoing ground isn't proper... However I tested my relay and it's ok..Did you solve the issue permanently? if so can you tell me how ?
Why dont u make a togle switch for the pump ? Also im having the exact same problem on a 07 suzuki m50 iv gone trugh 3 relays and it wont turn the pump on my last resort will be to hot wire the pump but with a switch but idk if the pump supposed to be runing all the time ? I would hate to ruin it because it cost me 500 bucks
Dude I think your confusing that relay for the pump relay. The pump should have the relay built in. That relay is probably for brake lights. There's three to four wires depending on the pump. I would be afraid to overpressurize the carb and push fuel straight through it but if the carbs have a fuel regulation setup that does away with floats then it's probably beefy enough to handle it.
I'm trying to start an 84 vf 500f and the fuel relay needs to be primed unfortunately there is nowhere on the net to find out which pins.. but this vid has given me a second option if i cant find anything.
@@motardsquid yes and it's plays up if let it sit for too long say more than 30 days, on mine I have to short the fuel relay quickly to start it back up again, Than it's fine. Just did it today and I'm running again. I used this video as sort of a guide on how to short..
You have 3-wires to the relay..?...It needs 2 to energize the relay...The 3rd one would be positive to the fuel pump.There is no "safety" overide in my opinion.What youve done is fine..The ignition switch may fail over time.Recommend a headlight switch or learn more about relay`s and a dvm.Check the relay source connections and find the fuse for it.....
