Hello Lisa! Just discovered your channel! It’s nice to see someone in my age range (I am a bit older than you) who has also chosen to remain “au naturel” (no injections and no filters) and who wears makeup to look more polished and put-together. You opened my eyes to the beauty and practicality of the Byredo palette - which I had not considered for myself - and now I plan on purchasing it. I do recall the great popularity of MAC’s Spice lip pencil when it first appeared on the marker. It was so popular among MUAs everywhere that it was often OOS. I appreciate the in-depth information on MAC, and the multiple arm swatches. Thank you for an enlightening video.
My feeling about the reason that the original MAC Spice was so popular was because it was a flattering shade on a wide variety of people, and so my hope would be that this might work for you as well. Please report back on how it works out! ❤
Hi Lisa! The top and makeup you are wearing during the narration part of the video looks great on you. I won't purchase this since powder eyeshadow super-irritates my sensitive eyes but it was fun to watch you apply them as One and Done since everyone else has made elaborate looks with the palette. Thanks for the lipliner and lipstick comparisons, too ~ can't depend on the online photos to give us a true read!
Thanks so much for your nice comments. There really are almost no brands that supply accurate photos of their products in natural light, which means that trying to figure out what color the products are is virtually impossible. I am lucky that I have an area in my house that is very well lit with skylights and windows on all sides, though that does mean that I need to really watch the weather to plan shooting days and that my "studio" consists of the small hallway overlooking our living room. 😄
Hooray! Something positive to watch during my lunch break here in a little bit! I wanted to say thank you so much for always stating that you want your makeup to make you look fresher and younger, while still being yourself. Me too! I’m not sure I believe those who say they use makeup just for “fun” and they don’t care about looking better. they’ll say that and then turn right around and say, “I hope this new makeup works. I want to look cute today!” 😮😂😊 thank you for being honest about what most of us truly want out of cosmetics! Fresher, younger, maybe a little prettier, but enhancing our natural beauty and features, and not trying to be something we’re not. I have the Byredo eyeshadow quint metal boots in the snow and absolutely love it. I use brushes with it, and that works fine. I also have one of their matte lipsticks and yes, it does have fragrance, but it’s quite pleasant and not overwhelming at all.
Hi Lisa, thanks for the video and the in depth shade comparison for M1990. It's very helpful especially you compared the shade of the lip liner to even lipsticks and blushes! I laughed so hard at 48:45, it's such a great and fun idea, hope MOB Beauty will make it happen!
About the contest to name the MOB Beauty shades? A long time ago, I wrote a book on sales promotion, and I do honestly think this would be a great idea for MOB Beauty since it could create a lot of consumer involvement and wouldn't be too expensive for them (e.g. I would think they could just send a free product to the winners). And the resulting shade names would be really helpful! So I do hope they do it too. Such a great review. I think the blue eyeshadow looks so pretty on you...your eyes pop. I also purchased with your Mob beauty link below the M1990 lip pencil & M3 lipstick. First time trying Mob products. Thank Lisa.
