This band kicks so much ass, they are genuinely good people. And you all are focusing on the grey hairs, which I can attest, he has earned every single one honestly. These guys are musical beasts, who have done everything themselves since 2000. And in that time, they have held down the music, 2-3 jobs a piece, and the Grandpa, as you all call him, is an inventor. Seriously, one of the hardest working band in the business. Go see them if they come near you, and you will change your mind.
The only reason I clicked this video is because of the band name and song title. I love to listen to bands that talk about history and historical figures.
A metal vocalist who screams so viscerally and.... you can actually understand the words he's saying. That's all I ask of metal vocalists. Pronounce your words. This band is excellent I'm gonna get into this
Cameron's Music and Gaming Land Man you gotta hear this whole album, if you haven't already. It's called "To Release Is To Resolve." It's a must buy, amazing from start to finish. Their new album "The Cicada Tree" is also. And if you go back to their older stuff with their original lead man, bass player and drummer, you'll find even more amazement. This band, even with a change in line-up, has been one of the greatest metal bands of the last almost 20 years, they've just not had the exposure they've deserved. Metal Blade really needs to be pushing this band as much as possible. They'd be very glad they did!
wow. a damn good prog metal band from west virginia, with duel lead vocalists, a bassist who plucks with his fingers rather than a pick, and a frontman who plays guitar left-handed this makes me very happy
Byzantine deserve to be much bigger. Chris and the boys are consistent, put on a great live show and have riffs for days. Like 36 Crazyfists they have a glass ceiling.
pray you are fortunate enough to do what you love at any age.. It's amazing how close-minded people are we all get old.. it's not about how young or old you are it's about how you were able to do what you love listen to what you want to listen to and enjoy it and understand it and appreciate it and Inspire others to think with an open mind
I remember seeing these guys way back in the day when they were starting out. My band was also starting out, trying to play at the same place: L'amour. I'll never forget how tight these guys sounded. Glad to see that almost 20 years later they're still kicking ass.
Just rediscovered this band after not having heard anything from them since they released "...and They Shall Take Up Serpents" and I'm super impressed. This is a killer song.
I've never heard of this band before but I love this video. Old dudes and young dudes brought together by their love of music; metal music, no less. There's something about the simplicity of just 4 guys in a room making a great song. Well done, guys!
Funny thing they are all within 5 years of each other, except the new drummer. He is a baby. Seriously good shit. They do a cover of Pisschrist that is on Spotify, and you can get on disk from Europe. Check it out. They do Pisschrist and Dam that River by Alive in Chains.
Absolutely brilliant work! we opened up for these guys in Chicago years back and all I can say is what an amazing band of true musicians and Stand Up Guys. Definitely a band that doesn't get the recognition they should, that's for sure
Exactly! I saw them on their 1st tour and they are one of the tighter live metal acts I've seen and I have been to a helluva lot of concerts. They slay.
Once upon a time, I saw these guys at William & Mary (yes you read that right). It was amazing, and I've become a life long fan! So happy to see you all keep on making music! Super excited for the new album coming soon!
wow, you all definitely put on a great show in spite of that! I look forward to seeing you live again sometime soon. One of my buddies got to see you all in Austin, which I'm still jealous about.
it blows my mind how these guys arent on or at least near the top of the bill for every multi band tour there is. Byzantine is the definition of "deserves more recognition"
saw these guys live maybe 10 or 12 years ago with god forbid. never heard of them before that and i remember being blown away after their set. glad to see they still kick so much ass
OJ is and always will be the King of the underground, wise, heart, soul and powerful, I am amazed even after all this time, and thank you so much for all that you and rest of the guys have done for me in my life
Guys I follow this band for like 4 years now. Trust me they are one of the top bands out there. Unique, talented and consistent. Check out their latest album and their previous work as well, they're mind blowing. They deserve more recognition and I hope their new label will help them accomplish that.
@@MoveInSilence23 don't you think it's a shame that byzantium is not that mainstream? there are 50 movies of henry viii and how many of..... heraclius for example? you can also add me on discord to talk about byzantium : Proletariado#4420
Saw you guys play at the international with testament and anthrax. Best show I've been to in a long time. You guys are underrated really loved your set keep the good work.🤘🤘🤘
What the fuck man... Why does this song just ring so perfectly in my ears? Maybe it just matches well with my personal tone auditory cortex and it's different for other people. Whatever the reason this is going to be the new number one on my playlist for the foreseeable next few months.
That was some of the best songwriting I've heard in a long long time. I loved the middle section. It was like going to another planet for a few minutes. A++
Super tight LIVE act, and an awesome, underappreciated band in general. Love Byzantine. So happy I saw them live in Philly, Pa at the First Unitarian Church, memories.
