@@jaceon02 on top of that by Mythology Cu is very fit to a Berseker, he even admits it, it's just that his berserker form is very unreasonable, so much that Cu himself dislikes his berserker form above all because in that form his sense of honour is...rather lacking. In Fate Grand Order we see the Berserker-Altered Form...he is quite the beast but not the pure berserker XD
@@derokdeathaxe6984 as a pure berserker he would likely be at his peak, ironically just like how Heracles would arguably be at his greatest wielding his greatest tools, his hydra arrows and his Nemean lion coat. An unpiercable shield and an unsurvivable long range attack should it connect. Meanwhile Cu as a berserker would likely retain his Lance and skills, but lack restraint, and likely be allowed the full strength he used to slaughter many armies single handedly before he was even an adult. The two both got shunted to arguably weaker roles than their best in this war, possibly because of the actions of one Shirou Emiya many years in the future.
Tony Oliver does an amazing job as Lancer. He captured the badass, playful, dangerous, and serious sides of his character so well and not to mention his voice is attractive as fuck. I could listen to him and Kaiji Tang's Archer for hours.
I just wish his voice was a little deeper idk or that the English kept a little more true to the tranlastion. He also sounds a little off to me here. And honestly... ALL I HEAR IS HIBIKI FROM VANDREAD LOLOLOL

Considering the lore of Cu Chulainn in Celtic mythology, I’d say the real one is probably more badass because he’s just more realistic. Sorta. For one his name isn’t even Cu Chulainn, it’s Sétanta son of Sualtam of whom is the descendant of Dagda the good god who is a descendant of the sun god Lugh. So Cu was basically a demigod capable of destroying armies (example of this when he fought Queen Maeve’s army in singles combat and eventually was forced to kill his battle brother Ferdiad), he had a wife called Emer who’s father denied him of marrying his daughter. The father’s castle was destroyed, and plenty more. Safe to say I still think the mythological one is better. Oh ya and there was this one part where his body or ferdiad’s body basically contorted itself into a pole like thing and would spray blood of of his mouth at people. Celtic mythology is brutal like seriously the reason why Sétanta got his nickname was because he used his hurley (a flat baseball bat) on Chulainn’s dog who was attacking him to launch a ball straight through the dog’s throat so this anime version is tame. And the part where a magic spear is shoved into him I guess is a reference. See, the Cu was killed by a spear going through him spilling his guts. As this is a demigod we are talking about he grabs his guts and ties them to a rock that he them holds on his back for probably days or so on end till a raven lands on his shoulder signaling his death. When the man who stabbed him tried taking his head as a trophy a beam of light shot out of the sky and the man’s hand was severed. Introducing the Celts, the kings of gore.
There is a version of CU when he was younger that still goes by setanta. When CU fought Maeves army he used a Rune that forces them into single combat which is how he single handedly held off the entire army for seven years. He's still got that ability as a servant although he doesnt use it much in his lancer form due to his skill with Runes being forcibly reduced. That in itself it crazy, the fact he was so good a runes he had to get nerfed in the lancer class. By that is was servants are. They are meant to be weaker formers of the heroic spirit. Its why no servant makes use of ALL the abilities they have in life. Artoria doesnt make use of carnwnan or rhrongo( The lance thing).
I don't really care about him not having an Irish accent because of how awesome he sounds in this dub. Seriously, this voice actor is just really perfect as Lancer. He makes him come off as smug but yet honorable at the same time.
Lilly M berserker is a Norse warrior that gets a blessing of sorts by Odin that allows them to see red. Mix that with the shrooms they took and not even fire will hurt them. So more or less he was a berserker but way more conscious.
In FGO, in Cu Chulainn Alter's interlude, Lancer mentions that he has a berserker form that's different, and maybe more powerful than Cu Alter, or at least scary enough to make Lancer prefer Cu Alter.
Unfortunately it's incorrect. Because in Japanese Lancer actually replies that he wouldn't know that saying, implying that he lived way earlier that that saying was introduced.
@@dothetwist298 Its not supposed to be a direct translation, they obviously changed it. Also Servants are equipped with all the knowledge of the world they're summoned to so he would know the phrase.
I love his character, bro had to stab himself, but got back up stabbed kirei through the heart, went back down, then got back up AGAIN to fuck up shinji, then as he is dying burns the place to the grownd whith his last words being a pickup line, absolute legend.
Yeah the Lancer class seems to be cursed with how often they get screwed over the only version where Cú actually comes out on top is when he’s a Caster instead lol
tbf what did you expect. Its a war where every servant is meant to die. Almost every servant dies by the end of each route. the only exception in rider who survives in HF but she arguably gets done worse than CU since her death was OFF SCREEN. she got violated and no one brings it up. hurts my soul.

Am i the only person who noticed that all the servants are seen to have no emotions and stuff but for some reason Emiya and Cu chulainn are the only ones seen with them
If you want more Irish servants check out zero and FGO. They got TONS including Diarmuid Uh duibhne, Fion Mac cumhail, scattach, Madb and even a Celtic god.
