C-17 Globemaster Crashes Immediately After Takeoff Due To Bird Strike [XP11] 

I'm impressed with how the pilot was whipping that jet out of the terminal like it was a box chevy.

If this were real, a crash could have easily been avoided. Only one engine was out.

The loss of a single engine would not cripple a real C-17 to this extent. All this insanity was the result of the man at the controls. I'll bet this kid's farmer uncle takes the prop off his crop duster when he visits.

That pilot was magnificent! The landing in the Hudson has to take a back seat to this great adventure ride.. maybe not because that was real..but this simulation is wild!!

I like how the simulation shows the C-17 running over the baggage handling cart. For the model or you don't knows wheel steer that radically, it's gentle movements.

It's sure a good thing that none of the buildings were damaged even though the plane went right through them and also that the plane wasn't damaged one bit either!!!

In the real world a 4 engined aircraft could continue with stable flight on 3 engines, but would anyhow would have to follow a proper go around procedure, not just turn right and dive straight through the nearest buildings ! Even with the possibility of asymmetric flight, a safe landing should have been relatively straightforward.

That poor baggage handler sacrificed himself and the carts to try and stop the terrible destruction and chaos from occurring. And yet, sadly, tragically, it was not enough 😳

I have been in REAL LIFE bird strikes on a C-5 Galaxy. It's nothing at all like this video. Sure, all circumstances differ, but as an experienced aviator, it just doesn't happen this way 😂.

It is really a pain in the ass to expect to see a real accident only to find out it is a computer game.

No risk that a simple bird strike in only one engine could make such a disaster. No brake, no reverse... And another flight lifts off during the C17 is attempting to make an emergency landing ? Impossible, all traffic is suspended.

I wouldn't call this a crash--I would say it was a very skillful landing under very adverse circumstances.

Those planes are able to fly without 1 or 2 engines. I don’t know if this is a real, or computerized crash. Most piglets are always aware of their position in a case like this. They, if at all possible will attempt to get it back on the ground ASAP. they also avoid populated areas. I saw several fields he could have aimed for.

I was on a Piedmont 737 from Tri-Cities, Tennessee to Charleston, WVa, 40 years ago. Engine one took bird or birds on takeoff. No loss of power, but the smell was hideous.

The C-17 is a good aircraft. It even runs over people on the taxi ways when idiots try to hop a ride as demonstrated in Afghanistan in October of 2021. While in flight a bird strike and engine failure wouldn't necessarily doom the aircraft. Making a right hand turn on the same side as a failing engine is not recommended. The failed engine would be dragging the aircraft to the right already. The co-pilot could be shutting down that engine while the pilot makes an emergency left turn to circle the airport and land the C-17 on the same runway of his departure. The C-5 and C-17 are tremendously large aircraft and they are designed to fly with one or two engine failures, with good pilots on board...

Well, the drills weren't followed at all. Fire still burning, u/c still down etc etc. With an inboard engine failure/fire, flight is quite normal on 3 engines

Theres at least two fire extinguishers on the flight deck. He could have grabbed one and climb out onto the wing, and put out the fire, Sheesh!

That is obvious, because the aircraft defies all the laws of physics and doesn't even get ripped apart when it hits solid objects.

Sorry but a C-17 is able to takeoff with just 2 engines when fully loaded especially achieving V1 and after rotation. Engine fire would have been put out immediately. Must be fun crashing aircraft.

You can turn off the bad engine, you still have 3 engines to fly the next hours , if 3 engines failure, you still can fly and landing with the remaining 1 engine, if 4 engines failed, you still have one battery fans, basic control for the next 30 minutes or less .
