I had the pleasure of jumping out of a C-17 with that same tail number at fort bragg. I absolutely love the C-17. It's like riding in a rolls Royce compared to the C-130J as a Paratrooper

The reason they have the thunderstorm lights setting is if you’re in a thunder storm at night and the flight deck is dark, the lightning flashes can be a lot more blinding to your eyes. Having the flight deck fully lit allows your eyes to be better adjusted to the flashes of lightning

Use vertical speed for descents when using autopilot. Use flight level change for climbs. Autopilot will keep climbing until it stalls if you use VS alone.

7:48 Wow, you right. I live in an Airforce Base State, and man I tell you when they are coming overhead to come into the Base, the sound is deafening. I sometime run out my house to see if its about to crash or something, the sound be so loud. Some time they be almost treetop level.

Yea but it is a freeware so it an instance you get what you pay for. But still the aircraft is nice to have in SIm and they are always putting out new updates which is great

Good sim will say tho some things were dumbed down like turning on power and apu btw c17 engines really aren’t that loud compared to everything else on the flightline what’s loud is the apu

You have to press the SPD hold after the AT is armed. Then it should maintain the speed you want. I was struggling with the LNAV. I had direct route between two airports and the aircraft did not want to follow lnav (gps) amgenta line. I had to use the HDG all the time. Did not find switch for NAV/GPS when I hit LNAV I got the CRS on PFD but I did not find the knob to adjust it.. And unfortunately there is no manual in terms of aircraft system and how to use AP only how to start from cold and dark. :(

Have you tried x plane yet? And Captain sim just made a c-130 they claim is “made from the ground up” Maybe you can do a video on that

@@StevesSimStation it seems like Captain sim is trying to resurrect themselves from scam artists to flightsim pros. I’d have to see it first before I trust them. Their glory days were back in the FSX days with those fabulous airliners. Now they’re just a joke and a punch line . See what this new c130 is about That Globemaster looks fabulous

The crew door is closed by the load master or crew chiefs working the aircraft there is no button for it in real life. the only button you have for doors in the flight deck is the ramp so they can drop off "rock drop "cargo while in motion.

I'm aware of the protocol on how it works. It's just the limitations of mafs2020. I've flown in a C-17 and it was very uncomfortable 😆

This should not be free. This thing is better than half the crap you have to pay for. This should also be in the sim store. Maybe needs a new sound package but all in all this thing is fantastic

@@StevesSimStation I’ve been a Loadmaster on the C-17 for 16 years, standing outside for engine starts I can say it’s a pretty accurate representation of the actual engine sound at idle.
