Always warms my heart to see and hear a C-46, especially as my dad and his confreres in the 674th PFAB, 11th AB jumped from C-46s in Japan. 1945-47, "pay jumps" during US Army occupation duty in Jinmachi; the air base there is still very much an operational asset to this day.
Never mind all of the armchair know it alls! Thanks for sharing a successful landing of the C46. Anyone who knows WW2 birds could have told you it was a 46 in trouble not a 47 even at that distance! Different flying styles! Thanks for sharing! 😊
Proper old school piloting bringing in Ol, Dumbo nice slow no fuss, just sat her down on the mains ,kissed the taiI wheel on the concrete and rolled out. If you can fly a Dumbo without drama, then flying a Dakota is a walk in the park. just ask Buffalo Joe McBryan for he has two Dumbo,s on regular supply runs to off grid communities in Canada,s North West Territories.
Well when you’re wrenching on an airplane and somebody runs in and says the C 46 has declared an emergency ,I don’t have time to run home and grab all my video equipment. Just grab the phone and do what you can.
@@kr2bldr just like 8 billion cell phones on the planet and no pictures of UFO's, Appreciate the effort , I've flown the C46 and encountered many emergencies. Based on video title was hoping to see some memories instead of a spec on the horizon A valiant try.
