C&C Superweapons - Dune 2000 

A lot of people complained about Dune 2000, but it is a pretty good remake of the old Dune II. I think it achieves a good balance between the traditions of the old game and the improvements of the new C&C engine. I surely enjoyed playing it.

This was an amazing game at that time. Absolutely absorbing. You turn into zombie after you play for several days.

I grew up with this game. The Best Strategy Game Ever!!!!! i remember when I was playing on a Pentium 1.

When I was a kid I trikes were my one of my favorite units because they were fast, did good damage to soldier units, and it took about 3 of them to easily kill a harvester and they can mow down bases. The other great part about them is that they were cheap and easy to build. I used to make like 50 of then and do a trike rush to demolish my enemies.

Man, the hours I had in this PS1 game back then... I can't even recall, I only remembered a part of my life being DUNE...

LOVE the music!! I always have some special feeling for Dune 2000. The first game I've played in my computer and I thought it has the best realistic graphics compare to old days standard. I hope this RTS franchise will be continually develop after the Dune: Emperor. Feel really great when I able to play back the game couple months ago..

ah man i remember playing this game with all my friends growing up. Don't think we ever beat the game though, which is a shame. If i remember correctly I think my friend broke it, oh well...good times

Yea lols. This game scared the shyt outta me too when i was young with the music and all. I didnt manage to complete the whole game back then, especially the last few missions, my heart will beat so fast and i will go, "zomg, i havent made jack, its only into the first seconds of teh game and big mob of tanks are already rolling in." This is a classic even though its nothing now that i've played cnc3 on hardest mode, i still have the ps1 version in my psp.

I guess out of all of these the Fremen are the most useful. You just pile them up and use them to surprise attack your enemies, ruin their bases in moments.

Nice editing. This game kept me occupied for a long time in practice (skirmish) mode. It's still one of my favourites after all these years.

I agree, the Sabotuer is great (love that sinister laugh and "Oh yes...") but it feels more like an elite infantry unit (ala Fremen, Sardaukar) than a super weapon. Good thing they got the Chaos Lightning in Emperor, huh? Kinda reminds me of the Psychic Dominator but turns them berserk instead. Deviators should be stronger and work like Masterminds, limited to 3 before having to let go of one unit. Ordos should also use more stealth tech (think Nod) and stealth units (Chameleon Tanks, maybe?)

When I started playing this game back in 2004/05 it took hold of me and I played it every day all day long until I finished all the missions. Well almost all as there is still one mission waiting for me to complete it one day.

my first RTS

I had trouble on that mission as well. The 10 minutes are just for capturing the smuggler's starport. Capture it, then take the MCV and deploy it in the bottom-right corner of your base. Fortify your base before developing it. On the top left corner of your base, line it with Gun Turrets. If need be, sell your Light Factory and rebuild it deeper into your base. I had an outer line of walls and Gun Turrets behind, and Missile Tanks behind them. Spare some light infantry to take care of troopers.

THIS GAME IS SO BEAST

how come the emperor faction (in campaign) always takes in the form of house harkonnen only with the addition of the emperor palace that enables sardaukar troops to be produced? and i love those sardaukar troops effective in numbers capable of decimating entire armies...

awesome game. when i had PSX version i never realised that different houses had slightly different stats for some of their vehicles. pc version is much better, better defined graphics plus saving midgame is very nice :)

It was Ordos yah just watched the last part lol! I loved that during someof the HUGE battles you got into you could capture the opposing teams superweapons and use em against him. The Fremen i'd sneak into the back of enemy camps and then attack the front with a good force so everything would be called to the front, then let the fremen loose. Just a few squads would tear down half the base in a minute before they got caught lol!

dune 2k's graphics look like something between red alert and tiberian sun. man i wish i could play that game.

The toughest part is when your first units have landed and you got to hold your position. If you survive the first hour, the rest gets easy.

Man, this game's Houses were so unbalanced. Atreidies gets an AOE Air Strike, which deals great damage to buildings, AND really tough cloaking infantry. What do the other houses get? Harkonen gets a measly missile which destroys 1 building, and Ordos gets the worst of it with Sabo's...slow moving suicide bombers which you could see coming a mile away.

I used to spend nights like 11 years ago in PS1))) this game is awesome

The Fremen are actually useful in the game. In the original Dune II, the Palace simpyl spawned some Fremen troops in random areas of the map and they usually could ot do much damage to the enemy.

the only flaw for the death hand was that it wouldnt land where u wanted it, so u had to do some planning :P

Dune II was the best strategy game ever. And I played it on a 386.

others see this gameplay thinking it sucks because of the graphics... but oh once you play it youll be hooked honestly, I'd say the only problem i have with dune is that its too fast paced because units are produced too fast and the bad organization when im sending units out of my crowded base

While I agree with you, we can't really do anything about it now. It's almost a decade too late for that.

Sardaukars are good, but Fremen are a tad better. They're cloaked units, their weapons pack a punch and they eat a lot of units for breakfast. On top of that, they're fast and you can control them, so get them on masse with some good units to go along them and watch the enemies' corpses file up and scraps of metal burning in the sand. :3

I STILL have the old PS1 game. And it is STILL by far the best strategy game ever made period. So many things to concentrate on at once and the later missions the shit hits the fan right away and you are hanging on by your fingertips half the time. I played Atreides (sonic tanks rocked) and Harkonnen (big ass tanks and nukes)though, never could bring myself to go ... what was the 3rd Tleilaxu?
