TBH i don’t even think the Label is the issue. Everyone knows the name Chloe and Halle they were promoted well it’s just her public image was at odds with the general public for some reason. Her and Bey are very close and Bey and Kelly even came to support her at Coachella. I think this next album will be great honestly and I’m happy she’s doing it this way so ppl can get the full effect of the album first

Thinkpiece's twitter and youtube joined forces with the black shade room community to kill any momentum of the album before it even rolled out criticising the names of the set list, the album cover, etc. The fact that she dropped that boy bye song and made it super pop hopefully means she is going to branch out and get the white money because we as a community hold our own to impossible standards.

I don’t know why people assume that really successful artists like that means that they can transfer their success into other acts. Those are two different skill sets - managing another artist and being an artist in your own right. The truth is Chloe’s career will never matter more to Beyoncé than her own career. It’s just not a mind frame that they have - you have to look out for yourself in that dog eat dog industry. And what works for you won’t necessarily work for others.

Precisely. Because what happens when you have an elaborate, expensive rollout and everyone still says it isn’t a great project or the numbers don’t reflect that? When Chlöe releases, her fan base will likely listen either way. They adore her and the artistry.

completely! a few artists have been trying but rollouts truly don’t hit the same anymore.

I mean think about it, back then rollouts were the only way for people to even know you were putting out an album, and this was heavily invested in bc the only way to listen to the album would be to go to the store and buy it. Times have changed, people barely watch late night tv and morning tv shows where artists would go on as a part of their rollout. Radio is not as popular. And the biggest killer streaming has killed the old music industry. Artists make close to nothing from streams. But people do not buy physical albums unless they are huge fans of the artists. Streaming has killed music videos which are also apart of the traditional rollout. When mtv music died, RU-vid and vevo’s partnership took its place. But streaming killed that. There is overall less money in music than ever, the only way to make money is to tour, but touring post covid is so expensive bc everyone is trying to tour due to the quarantine and following recession. But the only way people will shell out money to see you is if they like your album. But labels are less willing to spend money on a big rollout. And even then, you now have to be way more creative to do so, as the old avenues are dead. See the conundrum? Streaming killed the radio star, the video star, and the rollout in one fell swoop. And it damn near brought the music industry to its knees. Same way it killed the movie star for actors. And wounded the cinemas.

How yall let her flop then complain about the label got giving her a rollout? They need MONEY for that.

Charli XCX brat album had a really good rollout... but her loyal fans mainly pushed it, which I feel Chloe lacks IMO.

Imo I think she made In Pieces from a place of hurt bc of everything going on with her label and career at the time. Honestly if you go back to that era and look at how she spoke about the In Pieces versus how she’s speaking about this new project you’ll see a difference.

Who do you think paid for her music videos? That's Parkwood and Columbia's monies and all of that has to be RECOUPED

Low budget music videos. She produces most of her music they’re not spending that for much producers…. They may be paying for the little features. But they’re not doing that much.

JoJo Siwa really gets down. Her outbursts and lack of self awareness is scary 😩 I think Chlöe often falls victim to it when trying to be sexy and sultry. Like her song and video with Gunna is the perfect level, but it often feels overboard.

So very well said. In Pieces was not for me at all. And I tried to revisit it, even when making this video and nothing changed. “Have Mercy” got us too excited! Don’t get me started on Nasty, I was overly excited. I enjoy her flow on it and I think it was a great placement for the feature, but something’s missing. I often feel like one thing is always missing from many of her songs. But I will tune in!
