magpul literally came out with a 10/30 mag.......for 2021......and its a really gay mag bc it has a block in the body and a nuetered spring. It has no rivet but magpul did something to make it really hard to put a standard 30 round spring in the 10/30 mag
These are lot numbers for manufacturing. It helps the manufacturer narrow down issues that may be persistent in a product that's produced over a long time. It's for the manufacturer. If you go and buy a bunch a c-products mags right (and all of the same color) they should all have a matching or very similar lot number that varies by one or maybe two digits.
Same. I have 20 duramags I recently purchased in 2 different colors. All 20 have the same lot number. It just means the magazine bodies were all produced at the same time.
I have 26rnd and 10rnd mags for grendel from Cproducts. All from the same time. The 26's have nothing like a serial number on them. Strangely the 10's do, but all the 10's have the exact same number. I think it might be a lot or batch number.
I have several different color Duramags, each color has the same numbers so definitely not a serial number. Serial numbers are different bro. I have over 50 Duramags, 20 in gray with all the same numbers. We're also stocked locally with 30 rounders coming in every week.
@@TMHonfire102 Yeah man I just moved to CO from TX and theirs so many dumb laws that are unenforceable like mags. Got my 07FFL and I have mags laying around for side money but i do not have the tools to serialize all my mags and wouldnt be able to since im saving up for a lathe.
@@Je3perscre3pers Holy hell, I bet the next thing that would get passed as far as a gun control bill is something to do with standard cap mags. Too many gun manufacturers seem to be pre-complying with this.
@@TMHonfire102 Death by thousand papercuts dude. They know they can use taxation as a weapon because even other alphabet agencies are afraid of the IRS. Imagine what a 200$ NFA stamp per standard cap mag would do to EVERY gun owner. Alot wont comply but even for the ones that wont comply have already posted their rigs on facebook and IG so theyve already lost the battle. i dont want to be negative about the future because Im not a futtbucking quiter, but no more than ever people need to turn off the tv and start uniting.
@@TMHonfire102 Yeah somethings in the works i looked up the address for those Rare Breed Triggers and it seems it is an address to a law firm which i found kinda strange. Operation honeypot?
I assume they are stock numbers. I bought 7 or 8 mags a few years back and they are all the same number. Probably a code number so they know what the mag is. Different colors, different capacity, different materials all get different. Numbers
I have MFT but they are not labeled Mod 1 or Mod II in the spot you pointed to. They just have MFT stamped there. and they are fine, as far as retaining ammo.
Seems like lot numbers and serial numbers... Lot numbers to the die-press machine, if there's a big batch of defective mags, they know what machine needs retooling.. Helps with quality control tracking... Think of it as meat serial numbers-if there's an outbreak of ecoli, they can issue a more precise recall... And serial number as in a warranty work... To me, it seems like the color coating is a trademark of duramags, esp in teflon. If they stand behind their products, they'd want to weed out any negative recalls.... I hear that duramag is starting to build service body's for fleet trucks... P-mags and polymer msgs in general are consumables like ammo.... They won't last as long as aluminum mags, and it's probably a way for the big companies to make extra sales.... Imported cheese from Europe use the gregorian calendar system, and others use other ways... Since milspec mags are just that, milspec, the only way to make sure you're not fulfilling warranties for other manufacturers products, youd need a unique lot code. In retail, the way they calculate profit is sales per sq ft.... And I imagine brick and mortar stores don't want to compete with online warehouse prices... Because margins are already tight...For brick and mortars, Usually in the 10-15% range...which is why when you go to a gun shop, they'll have more specialized selections, but with higher markups.
Holy shit I never noticed this before! I have 12 Duramags BUT.... What's funny is that 2 of the 12 DON'T HAVE THIS and it's the Duramag that Sons of Liberty Gun Works has their name on. Looks exactly like a duramag, has all the markings and has SOLGW emblem on the floor plate but DO NOT have the random numbers.... Very strange!
Dude I just came across this video. But no those are not serial numbers those are lot numbers, those are just two number the batch. I just purchased six of them and they have the same exact number.
You are absolutely correct about the first-generation mft magazines they are complete garbage. I took one of those high-speed low-drag fighting rifle courses I pulled a first gen magazine out of the pouch and it immediately objected all of the ammunition out I pulled another out in the same thing happened my final magazine was just your basic issue military magazine and I completed the string with that mag. Thanks for doing the testing on the second generation one but mft is already ruined it for me I won't be buying any of their magazines now they do make an interesting AK handguard
Thanks...This sucks that they would put traceable numbers. You know the government will be coming for these if legislation is passed. I will never buy a serialized magazine. Looks like Buds has some of the Blue C-Products for sale.
@@ChrisBrocksmith send all you duramags to me I will pay shipping! But seriously they are just lot numbers, all mine have the same numbers, blue has its own, as does green, black etc....
@@charlesprice7608 You will not be able to convince most of these people. I think this guy started the lame ass tungsten guide rod bullshit from years ago. I have no proof of this, but an employee at Academy speaking off the record said it’s so.
Problem with these is the tracking. Some states already have banned high capacity mags. So may be an enforcement tool. Say i was shooting at my local range and law enforcement questioned me concerning the capacity of the mag. They could look up the number and prove when it was made. And basically when it was acquired. Hence id be in trouble. 🤣 want else is new.
