I purchased the cheapest radiator I could find to replace the leaking factory brass and copper unit in my V8 1966 Chevrolet C10 on eBay. And of course it wasn't a bolt in deal. Other than swapping out the cheap plastic petcock it required some modification to the hold down clamp. Looking back I would have liked to find 2 hold down clamps and cut them both long and splice them together for a cleaner look. But this is just a beater so what I did will work fine. Maybe someday I'll fix it the correct way. But who am I kidding? Thanks for watching!

I just cut two rubber pads out of my old hoses and set the radiator on them in the bottom brackets so it would be setting on rubber. That lifted it up so when I fastened the top everything was tight and riding in rubber for smooth, quiet operation.

@@alan6832 The weight savings is minimal. The cost is why I chose it.

Hey man. I call you man because I don't know your name. I am new here so it will take me some time to figure things out. Rads are expensive whether you buy new or rebuild. I had mine rebuilt because I couldn't find out my size. It cost me $400.00 Canadian. But it works fine. I love my dog (Bandit) as my shop dog as well. The only problem is, he steals my screwdrivers and pliers. He likes to chew on the soft handles. That's a cool old truck that you have. It is hard to tell how fast you were going because it is too flat there and no trees. Ha-ha. Nice looking pooch you have there. Man's best friend. He doesn't judge or hold a grudge. Thanks for sharing. I hope we see more of each other. Drop around for a visit. 👍👍

Andy Man! Thanks for watching! Duff Dog truly is a great shop dog. Other than he tries to be a little too helpful at times. Specifically when you're working on a creeper and he feels the need to lick your face. Appreciate the comment as well! And what are these tree things you speak of?

@@MortskeRepair That's funny because Bandit does the same thing. One day he crawled under with me and fell asleep. I guess I was working too slow for him. Ha-Ha.

Thanks for this video. Got a bay Radiator (looks just like yours). I got the recommended thin thin rubber strips, as well as factory thick ones...I didnt know which was best. Can you tell me what size/type screws hold on the fan shroud?

I don't have a link. That was almost a year ago so maybe they went up? It's a Champion radiator. I found it by searching "60-66 C10 Radiator" on eBay.

Are the transmission inlet and outlets on the bottom side of the radiator? If so, are the ports dedicated to a specific side?
@MortskeRepair

They are on the bottom and they are equal distance from the centerline.
