I don't want to be negative with my comment but the brass gears are overkill . As you pointed out only the delrin bushings are bad , not the gear . I do suppose that in very tiny instances the gear may wear due to overuse while the bushings have already disintegrated but again it's the bushings . The brass was a marketing ploy , as is the aluminum gear , to make a higher profit off the consumer . But if you have the funds go for it .
The good thing about the brass gears is that they likely will not wear out. However, if something prevented the headlight from moving (an obstruction of any type), the brass gear might damage the motor. The nylon gear is a better sacrifice in this instance. Having said this, a headlight obstruction is probably a rare occurrence.
The brass gears are only $12 more than the plastic on Amazon plastic $37 and brass $49. Why would anyone replace them with the original fragile plastic to save $12. Hopefully the bushings are better quality.
@@PAIDFOR50 You answered your own question in that the part not failing, the gear, has been up graded over time but the high failure part, the bushings, haven't been. The original gear is neither fragile nor the problem.
Where can I get those gear at they want $400.00 for the whole thing when I order they gave me the two wire and my has three wire on it I have a 86 corvette c4 what is different with to wire and I have 3 wire
