I read on the forums about adding some pieces of foam some nylon and a jute pad to my OEM seats. they are not the best for holding you in place but they certainly are comfortable for driving around on road trips. I'm not really interested in the expense of replacing them so this was a good alternative. figured I would document the process

you're mixing the heat element with the passanger occupancy sensor. That's resting on the jute and on the springs. The seat heating is glued on the foam. If I recall correctly, the driver's springs sink into the foam because there's no jute (and no occupancy sensor), that's where you need the jute. For our C6Z06s, the two seats are actually quite different left to right.

My 2010 has OEM heated seats and does not have a jute pad or heater underneath the seat cushion. Mine is a glued heater coil on top of the cushion. So the jute pad and ballistic nylon is a necessary for the cushion support. Plus new cushion depending on wear and tear

Yeah mine was extremely low mileage so there wasn't a lot of wear except for the driver bolster but you can't even really see it. I found it very weird to find the elements on the top or the bottom depending on which seat so I wasn't sure if it had been messed with before.
