Thank you for the installation walkthrough and 1st impressions. I'm interested in purchasing the DSC Sport Controller for my 2019 Z06 M7 and so I'm trying to find other owners' opinions. BTW, quality content from a sincere gentleman, subscribed! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

UPDATE: I have not driven the car much lately, had some work done and it's been raining. Recap, the latest software has a default rating of 1 which is the lowest. I tried 6 (5% change) at first I like it, very stiff. But I did not like it on the freeway. Then tried 3.5, I liked it but at times not quick stiff enough. Then I left it at 4.5 and thought I would keep it. But above 100MPH something about it did not feel right. I was fighting the car more than I wanted. I changed it back to a default of 1, but I lowered both the Sensitivity setting and G Rate Max by 5. I think they were at 20 and I changed both to 15. That means the active portion kicks in at 15 G, instead of 20 (I think earlier versions it was like 30 at default), I'm not 100% sure but by lowering the sensitivity, basically makes the Active portion more sensitive meaning kicks in easier or more often. I think this is where I'll keep it. I realized I did not really want it stiffer per say, I just want the active portion engage much more often. Since testing, sport feels great and if I want it more stiff I just go to track which I like anyway because I go to sport 1 which makes the traction control less intrusive. Between zeroing out ride height and these changes I'm really happy for now. I may still play with more settings but not for a while.

I zeroed mine and set the default to 4. I previously had it set to 3. Im pretty happy with it set like that

@@RobsHouse nice! So cool that we have a chance to play with it. What did you notice after changing the ride height and the default rate?
@RobsHouse
@RobsHouse 2 года назад
@@MichaelGreco It's just a little tighter. Previously, I had upped the default to 3.0. I forgot I had already done that. Zeroing it and upping it to 4.0 made it a little less bouncy in sport mode which I like. It is still a street/sport feel which is good. Obviously, I don't want sport mode to be as stiff as track mode. It was just still a little too loose for my liking. I like a stiff ride generally speaking.

I have a GoPro hat. I don’t use it, But Maybe it would help you on videos like this?

I have a head strap thing. The problem is it was 95 degrees out and the camera itself gets hot. So it’s like wearing a heater on your face while it’s already 95 outside haha. Otherwise I would have put it on. I’ve done some other videos with it.

Hey Rob, thought I'd share some info. I'd been feeling like something was off with my suspension. My shop claimed they were pro's with DSC, but when I asked them if they made sure I had the latest files they told me they did not check. They just plugged it in. They said they did a DSC specific alignment, though. Anyhow, my car is lowered. So on a hunch I Zero'd out the ride height, which apparently you are suppose to do if you are not stock ride height. It make a big difference. I also adjusted the default rate to make it stiffer, I did only a 5% change, but it make a noticeable difference. If you have not zero'd out the ride height or curious about how to change the settings let me know and I'll reply back with their specific videos that showed me how to make these changes.
@RobsHouse
@RobsHouse 2 года назад
That would be useful. I did at least make sure I have DSC's latest file flashed on my device before installing it in the car. It rides pretty well for me. I would like to see that video though if you don't mind because my Sport mode is just a hair too bouncy for my liking. I want to stiffen it by about 5% as well. I am also lowered quite a bit (cut the bolt bushings and i'm all the way down), so maybe I should zero out the ride height too. I didn't know about that! If it's easier than commenting, just email it to me at robshouseofficial@gmail.com

@@RobsHouse Here's the video to zero out the ride height. Make sure to reset board after. I guess that's a good habit when messing around. I for sure noticed a difference after this. Probably do this and test before making other changes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-M7KpCWm0ycw.html

@@RobsHouse I didn't see your email in your reply, probably should have emailed lol sorry man. I had the shop that installed mine run a cable for me, but check out this video from horsepower obsessed, he ran his own cable to the inside of the car to make this stuff easier when updating. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EOgKyQaQmzQ.html

@@MichaelGreco oh you're fine, no worries. He actually ran that cable the same way I ran the cables for my wideband that I just installed. I may do this. Easy enough an super convenient!

Dude you got it! Nice! I think what you are describing as soft is how well it soaks up bumps. Really handles bumps well. I found track mode much better on the street, actually been driving on the street with track mode and sport one. Sport1 does an amazing job with traction control. The rear end is definitely just less squirrely. I feel much more safe in the car. There's one road where I'm going downhill on a corner pretty fast that's bumpy, it used to scare the hell out of me but after this with it handling the bump so well I can hold the turn at a much higher speed than before. Looking forward to hearing more about your impressions. You got me thinking about which software version I have. When I got it installed I had the shop run a USB cable inside the cabin of the car so it's easy for me to check. I'll have to dedicate sometime this weekend to download the software on my computer and check what I have.

Yeah after you told me about it I kept an eye out on the forum. Sure enough, someone traded in their C7 for a C8 and was just dumping spare parts. This was among those parts haha. It definitely soaks up bumps way better. I was concerned at first because sport mode almost felt loose going over bumps, but then you dive into a corner and it's still nice and tight. I like how it kind of feels dynamic based on your input. Really looking forward to pushing it on the dragon. Track mode used to be completely unusable on the street, but I drove it again today in track mode and it felt good. Really stiff still, but slightly less brutal haha.

@@RobsHouse yep, I don't fully understand it but it's active. Just like you described it kicks on when it needs to. I think it's worth it just for the rear end to be more stable. Check out this video if you feel like messing with it. I've thought about it, I called them and they said the out of the box setting is good. But this video looks interesting. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N_C4sk36PkM.html What kind of tires are you using? I just did a heat exhanger and a 2.3 pulley. Still on crappy 91 but jumped to 637 wheel and 680 torque. Considering trying toyo r888r...

Right now I just have the cup 2 tires. I’m gonna do super sports for my next set. I just can’t keep enough heat in the cups
@RobsHouse
@RobsHouse 3 года назад
How much power did you make before the pulley? I'd expect more horsepower with your setup, but the torque figure seems about right. I wonder if it's pulling timing up top or closing throttle or something. We had to update my driver demand table because of throttle closure and we had to relax the knock sensors a bit because we were getting false knock even with just an intake and headers. I'd imagine adding a pulley into the mix would just exacerbate those issues.

@@RobsHouse 562 was the baseline with an AFE intake, Corsa xpipe and exhaust. 91 octane is my biggest limiting factor. It's terrible. My baseline before stock was only 510. 40 under what I think it should be on the stock 93 tune. Considering e85, shop likes the dsx flex fuel kit. But I keep hearing I'll have fuel delivery issues. Called up dsx they said I need a low side auxiliary pump and even then I should only do e50. Sounds like I would need a cam or injectors to go full e85
